"Dragons can hold grudges that can outlive civilizations"

Can confirm, Viserys took those will'o'wisps and to set them as lamp lights after all.

No, we just left them where they were once we divined they got trapped by... someone, font remember the details.

We didn't lift a finger to worsen their situation, as a proper 'draconic grudge' would've called for.

Here I thought we got them when our schedule finally opened up.
I pushed long and hard and went full retard about it, but eventually we did bring up this extremely stale and out-of-date plot point on-screen.

Only to see it has not developed in any a manner that would've warranted us going back to it.

The Wisps didn't grow fat on narrative power as "the only ones to fool Viserys and live", they didn't even get to live their lives as before.
The hag(?) They were running from got to them and they became lanterns.

There isn't really a way to go and deal with them further without being extremely, extremely petty and out-of-date.
Like, seriously unreasonably so.

Edit: crakened on the one who got 'em

I am that petty... They should be lighting up the toilets somewhere in the Deep.

I kinda want to answer Rhaenys questions. Her question is pretty good from someone her age and it would be good to take her questions seriously.

We're upgrading Sandor, Bronn, and Maelor next right? I'm going to go dumpster diving for new items and don't want to miss anyone.
Sandor doesn't actually need much in the way of gear upgrades, except perhaps for some supplementary enchantments to his new armor. Bronn and Maelor, on the other hand, are due for a serious upgearing.

[X] Rhaenys may be very young, but everyone in the Deep has a Blessing of Insight which means she should actually be able to make surprising mental connections so long as you lead her along the correct path rather than treat her as if she won't understand.
-[X] "To answer your questions in the order you asked them, niece, I am going to Westeros in secret to do work in the light of day. If people catch Viserys Targaryen running around the realm playing japes on his enemies, the Crown will be taken less seriously, which on the whole usually isn't a good thing, because the Crown represents so much all at once. It has to do the work of many people, and so when I need to play a trick out in the open, even I have to act as someone else, as an Inquisitor often might. Because the Inquisitor is also representing--acting in place of--the Crown, in his own way, so he or she too, when acting with their own face, must be taken just as seriously."
-[X] Solemnly: "Inquisitors and Kings have that much in common. We can't make mistakes."
-[X] Then smile: "But Buttercup the bard can."
--[X] Next: "As to Dorne, you should always treat words given in oath and pledge in the spirit in which they were exchanged. So act as though they are afforded the due protection and consideration as you would one who raises your banners in truth, because you will expect them to act in your interest even while dissembling--faking--their allegiance, their loyalty, to others."
--[X] "That is to say, when they pretend to be loyal to your enemy, they will not take liberties--actions--which prove troublesome for you to later deal with."
---[X] Considering why she asked further: "A lie isn't inherently wrong, but the context and reasoning behind that lie should always be taken into account before you speak an untruth. Often speaking truth from a certain point of view is always better, as it keeps you from falling into bad habits, like getting chocolate all over your clothes!" Share a laugh.
----[X] "Always consider who you are speaking to. I would not lie to Lord Brune or Lord Velaryon, even if I had to share uncomfortable truths with either man, because I respect them too much. But I might omit--avoid speaking--certain truths to protect both of them, and I would share my reasoning with them if asked. This is because we trust one another."
----[X] "On the other hand, one who I bore no enmity with, but did not trust, I would simply avoid placing in the position to ever learn what I do not wish to speak, and an avowed foe I would not hesitate to lie to in the least, though I might refrain from it as I spoke earlier, to avoid being placed in a precarious--a dangerous--position in the future."

[X] Go fix the fire damage in the Stormlands done to that town using a Lyre of Building and magic granted muse. Whether the fire be supernatural or not, a song that smears Tywin Lannister in the doing which results in it being fixed... you don't think people will ever have any one consistent story regarding the feats of Buttercup, which is fine, seeing as how you admittedly are mostly doing this to amuse yourself.

@Crake, for the sake of honesty, might as well point out that it helps to never technically lie when you habitually split hairs so fine that even Devils get envious.

Omake: Blighted Roses
Little omake on what could have been if the Tyrell distaste had been more pronounced.

"Is this not a bit excessive?" Teana whispers watching dozens of scholarum mages assisting in setting up the ritual chamber.

Technically she had no pressing need to oversee such a task. The tales of the efforts placed into this grand ritual had snared her curiosity and so she was here, watching as expensive reagents from across the planes
were put in place. Runes drawn, chants spoken, magic drawn into a spectacular web planned down to the last drop of blood.

The cost alone to ensure the ritual magic wrought would be everlasting, neverbroken and incorruptible had cost millions.

"It will be a beautiful piece of magic." Lya answers cheerfully, before admitting wryly, "Sometimes there just is no way to dissuade a dragon." The way the lady is blushing leads Teana to believe Lya had attempted such an act and lost.

"I can't even imagine what kind of enemy you are striking against with such a ritual." Teana admits feeling a chill down her spine at just the weight the air had in the cavern. "A lord of Hell perhaps?" She queries, "If I am allowed to know of course." She hastens to add. Sometimes she was very glad she had never been quite on the level of a companion, no matter how powerful they had become.

Lya smiles sheepishly, "Not anything so grim, no Viserys is striking closer to home, unfortunately I can not share the targets until the ritual has been performed."

Teana humms thoughtfully as she tries to imagine what enemy close to home deserved all of this.

The ritual eventually was completed and it was an extremely smug dragon that exited the cavern. Teana took awhile to follow, she had to stifle her giggles first after Lya had told her the rituals purpose.

Highgarden, the Reach.

The Tyrell family were all together, sitting down for a meal to share their thoughts on the shifting realities of the world.

Olenna barely paid attention to the servants bringing the covered plates of food as she pondered the best strings to pull to ensure the Reach was not divided. She was distracted by a girlish wail and turned automatically to her fool of a son to see him scramble away from the table.

"Mace, pull yourself together." She snapped on reflex even as she raised an eyebrow in shock at the dead raven that had been served the lord of house Tyrell. "What is the meaning of this!" She hissed at the confused servants.

"Pardon, my Lady?" The maid that had served her son asked hesitantly.

Olenna bit back the harsh retort on her tongue, the girl was unlikely to be behind this distasteful jape. "Why is there a raven served to my son?" She asks instead haughtily.

If anything the girl looked more confused looking back to the other servants and then to Olenna as if lost for words.

"Well girl!?"

"Many pardons my lady, I do not see any ravens only the roasted lamb." The maid answers carefully.

Mace red in the face from embarrassment and anger picks up the dead raven on his plate and shoves it in the maid's face. "This is not a lamb you bint!"

"Father.... This isn't good." Willas interjects queasily.

Mace and Olenna both turn away from the terrified maid to find both Willas and Loras plates filled with nothing but dead ravens.

"The cooks will hang for this!" Mace promises darkly.

Unfortunately for house Tyrell it was quickly discovered that any food they came near appeared as nothing but dead ravens to them, tasted like raven as well. It did not matter what food was placed in front of them.

For anyone else they saw fowl, pigs, lamb and all the fixings. For the Tyrell family every meal was a field of ravens, beady dead eyes staring up at them.

No matter what mage they called upon nothing broke this curse, the Tyrells did not dare ask he most likely to have wrought it and suffered in silence forevermore.
