Debts of Blood
Fifth Day of the Third Month
"Baelish is dead," the news reaches you just as you have raised the first of ten demiplanes you are crafting in preparation for the ritual that will hopefully tear down the Court of Stars. Truth be told, demiplane might be overstating the matter, rooms of folded space shaped from the ether, walls of black grey stone, and gutters around the edge to gather the blood. Most of the protections and contingencies yet to be worked upon them.
"The Queen refuses to be parted from her younger children even in light of his passing. She notes, not without cause, that there would be far more with cause to kill Littlefinger than either Tommen or Myrcella."
You pause in your work, grimacing as you step out of the newly made demiplane and pull up a chair. No reason to cast spells in the middle of a conversation if you are not pressed to.
"Ser Kevan could not persuade her."
"He did not think it worth much effort. It was easy enough to turn the king to the side of sending the children away, I almost think he would do it just to frustrate his wife, but the rest of the Small Council, bar Pyrcelle, agreed with the Queen. Even Selmy did. I did, however, manage to discover an interesting bit of information by driving the Queen into a rage on the matter. Apparently, each of the 'royal' children have a talisman somewhere about their person that will transport them to Casterly Rock if they are 'in peril'. I was unable to ascertain more details than that."
You briefly wonder why they did not just use a contingent
spell, but the question answers itself. Bloodraven had not been able to tell it was there as presumably no other mage who might mean them harm would. Your opinion of the Usurper rises by a few inches.
"They should be safe enough. I'm likely jumping at shadows..."
"I'll watch for them once the conquest begins in earnest, Your Grace," Brynden Rivers assures you, his voice a touch softer than a moment before.
"A king's peace of mind is itself a valuable thing." Somehow you do not think it is practicality itself that moves him to make the offer.
"Thank you," you answer simply.

Bloodraven is not the only one of your distant kin to speak to you that day. A few hours later, your mother informs you that Prince Oberyn, formally Count Oberyn, would speak to you. You very much doubt the reason has anything to do with his new responsibilities.
"I heard you were going west, before the horns sound," the Red Viper's eyes gleam with a light you would almost call playful if it were not so bloody. The company of fey suits him. "I had a mind to do so, too. Quite far west, in fact. The Mountain has to die..."
"You are not the only one with a claim to watching that murderer breathe his last," you point out carefully.
"The Hound," his expression softens slightly. "He can be the first to see the corpse."
From where she lies curled up by the window. Dany speaks up before you can. "I think there are more who have suffered from his misdeeds that stand here today, not kings, not princes, nor lords... not even knights. They too deserve to see the Mountain fall. A short sharp fall from a scaffold that is." Then with with a hiss that would more closely match crimson scales than quicksilver, she adds, "No reason why he has to be intact when he gets there, though."

OOC: Sandor is being made the first Praetorian now so if it does come to fighting his brother it will be as a flesh-shaped engine of destruction. Not yet edited.
