We didn't make any Umbral Spies this month, but we did bring the third Umbral Stalker online at the beginning of the month.

As for ships, by the end of the 2nd month we'll have 3 Moonchasers, 10 Manticores, 31 Type-A Wyverns, and 20 Type-B Wyverns.

We'll also have 38 Heralds.
One day the Heralds shall number in the thousands. :D The Voice of the Emperor, spread throughout the Imperium.

Heads up, @BronzeTongue, all of our Erinyes got a new piece of kit this month based on your research.
Hawkeye Spectacles:
  • You benefit from the Hawkeye spell, increasing the Range Increment of your ranged weapons by 50% and granting you a +5 Competence bonus to Spot checks.
That pushes the normal Range Increment for them up to 150 feet, and Mereth up to 450 feet per increment. She can hit something almost a mile away now.

Legitimately terrifying. Imagine her using a Belt of Battle for another full attack. Imagine doing it with even more attacks than she has now. I'm pretty sure twenty arrows in one round from her with all that boosting to her damage would kill most things. And with a range like that, you would pretty much either have to get up in her face immediately or vacate the area. Especially horrible because she can fire off half of that, and instead use the belt to teleport away, then use a spotter with a good position and hiding in concealment to track the target, then she does it again next round.

She's actually the perfect assassin, so long as her target isn't inside of a structure.
They still get a peachy pay on their contracts, yeh? Can't remember for how much longer do we have them tho'...
Contract expires at the end of next month, but we can extend it (and probably will).

If she have some form of divination based heads-up display she doesn't even need to engage in the first place.

Maybe some googles with all the spot bonuses? Maybe an item of spot +20?

@Goldfish, in the distant future would it be possible to make an enchantment on Mereth's Quiver of Abundant Ammunition to make all the arrows Imperial Steel?
We should add that to the targeting optics of our air-force.
Yes please for stupidly ranged spaceship guns.

Also, we might want to add lots of Soulforged Undead to next order. Tagging @Azel for reasons.
We have tons and tons of stuff in "Free Forces" we can assign to do shit at any moment, but 9 Black Champions are literally all of the SF!Undead we have that arent gonna be doing something else.
Once I have the spare time, I'll look into hybridizing undead with oozes and getting us some special weapons made from them.

I can design some undead strike-groups while I'm at it.

How far away would that boost their range? 6000 feet for direct fire, right?

Would it actually improve targeting for larger objects at a greater distance even more? :thonk:

Being able to hit enemy airships from an even more absurd distance will be good. As will basically telling enemy dragons "actually, this entire airspace belongs to the Imperium, motherfucker".

Basic range of a steam cannon is 1,220m / 4,000 feet.
A fully trained operator doubles that to 2,440m / 8,000 feet.
With this enchantment, it goes up to 3,660m / 12,000 feet.

I don't recall the indirect fire range and would have to dig through some very old notes, but we can sum it up as "enough".

Ohwow. Over 2.2 miles. Or 3.65 kilometers for the thread majority.

That's... quite a distance. If they can hit from even farther indirectly, and can now even more reliably hit larger specific targets, we could probably do something like create huge cloud cover in the air over King's Landing, and open the war with a coordinated bombardment of 70 Steam Cannons, sinking half the navy for a bit of shock and awe, thanks to visual enhancements letting them presumably see through cloud cover.

Fuck, that's terrifying. Next round they could clear the clouds and reveal themselves dramatically, then sink the other half.

Clearing clouds takes 10 minutes though. Control Weather isn't instantaneous. But we could instead clear the air above Kings Landing while leaving some strategically placed clouds over the bay and then have the Dauntless majestically fly out of them and present itself to the city.

There's little need to sink the fleet in my opinion or even shell the place proactively, not when we have three Legions and the Praetorian Guard being Gated into the place. The only shots I'd fire would be at dragons, because how dare the Lannisters contest the air space that clearly belongs to the Imperium, and anyone on the ground who has the galaxy-brained idea to fire a ballista or something at the floating battleship above his head.

I feel as though we should pelt any siege weapon that so much as twitches in our general direction with a full volley of shells.

After the dust clears and they look at the crater of the last crew to make an attempt, I think they will stop very fast.

Yeah, that's my idea too. Just lob 5 HE shells at every tower that fires on us. I don't think we will need to do that more then once or twice before everyone gets the message.

Worst case, the Dauntless could pretty much solo the city wall into a long pile of rubble within a minute, but I doubt anyone would be suicidal enough to provoke that.

Also, I find it horribly ironic that Viserys intends on winning the war without going dragon form once, if he can help it, and in fact letting his air fleet do all the things dragons usually do for Targaryens in a continental conquest, except better, shinier, and with more style than the Lannisters.

Is there a GODDAMN thing we haven't done to one-up Tywin Lannister yet?

Remember when he gave away Valyrian Steel to his most loyal bannermen?

Remember when we gained MORE loyal bannermen by giving away Valyrian Steel... weapons AND armor?

Remember when Tywin hatched some dragons and used a demiplane to try to speed up their growth?

Remember when we made Artillery the King of the battlefield? REMEMBER TREES?

OH SHIT, we gave our empire a bunch of free magic. We are also on our way to ending world hunger. I think the Lannisters might have actually starved some people in the Riverlands?

Not on our watch.

Etc... Etc.

Edit: We also invented mass media. But not journalism!

... so do creatures with multiple eyes get more eye slots, or do they just put their single pair of glasses/goggles on their favorite set of eyes?:V

I think and argument could be made for say beholders having more eye slots, since they lack so many other sorts of slots and they have two qualitatively sorts of eyes, the central one and the crown. So Xor for instance could have two goggle slots

BTW, did you include the four additional Erinyes we recruited with the latest round of Summoning? They've been geared up and are ready to get to work.

That brings us up to 44 Veteran Erinyes, plus Mereth, Leto, and Sarell.
Yeh, I did.
If you look at "Free Forces -- Outsiders", they are there, sans any 3 that are guarding Shadow Tower/Halls of Knowledge as voted long ago.

Once I have the spare time, I'll look into hybridizing undead with oozes and getting us some special weapons made from them.

Feel free to, although keep in mind that aside from everything in "Free Forces" you we also had this little group made that... kinda went nowhere?
2,000x Firefly (aquatic)
5x Necro-Kraken
50x Paralyzing Snatcher
10x Black Brute (aquatic)
1,000x Spitter (aquatic)
500x Spitter Swarm (aquatic)
5x Greater Blood Clot Mold -- 1 per Necro-Kracken.
10x Blood Clot Mold -- 1 per a Black Brute (aquatic).
20x Vigilant Kelps (CR 4)

We should add that to the targeting optics of our air-force.
So that would mean 10 per Moonchaser and 2 per Manticore, right?

Might as well knock out 40 of them for the Dauntless, too. Okay, we can handle that. I'll add 90 of them to next month's crafting schedule once I make it. Putting them in my notes now.

Unfortunately, the Abundant Ammunition spell doesn't work that way.

We could upgrade her quiver to have a modified Efficient Quiver effect. That would let her store up to 180 Imperial Steel arrows in it if we repurposed the two other storage spaces for only carrying arrows.
