Given the way the cosmology works in most DnD settings, Positive Elementals are anything but weird...

I've been wracking my brain trying to come up with the best way to handle this, y'all. The Undead are too intermixed with our own forces to use mass AoE bombardment. Even though Sunburst does significantly less damage against the living that the Undead, it's still too much to subject our people too, not to mention the indiscriminate blindness it causes.

I think our best bet here will be to set off several of our single-use Blinding Glory charms to engulf everyone on the front, enemy and ally alike. We can use Mage's Decree to warm our troops that many of them will be temporarily struck blind (statistically as many as 1/3), but that all enemies should be affected.

They can than less that affected fellows away from the fighting, attack the Undead with impunity, and we'll be better able to use large-scale AoEs.
I don't like it, our people are much more likely to panic than the enemy, even if they are less affected.

I think if Viserys and Dany spam Lion's Roar we have much better odds.
We would at least squash all the rat-swarms we hit, as well as the lesser dead to make the Bloody Bones stand out.

I was thinking about doing that in conjunction with using Blinding Glory.

If y'all don't think it would be helpful, I'll leave out Blinding Glory.

The way I have it set up positive/negative energy is the bridge between the soul and body, thus a negative energy elemental would be a ghost and a positive energy elemental would be like the odd angel spirit you guys met in heaven's shore. Having them work independently gain sapience is odd. Should there then be positive/negative energy genies as more refined manifestations? It feels odd to me.

That's a bit reductionist when you consider the influence of those planes on the neighbouring elemental planes. The Plane of Minerals has many minerals, not many sapient rocks. The Plane of Dust has dust, not undead rocks.

I'm just generally not found how the NE Plane is often rendered as "the Abyss, but for undead" and the PE plane as "isolated TN heaven". I quite liked the revulsion of the elementals at seeing tje Prime Material, instead of having them as generic, saccharine healbots.

Also, I don't think equating Genies with Elementals works. At all. They are mortals.

Genies have an elemental subtype and are immortal outsiders, that part of the cosmology I'm not changing, you guys even got a glimpse of it IC when you saw those elemntal whalers somewhere between living bonfire and efreeti.

That said since there is an objection and I do not like to ret-con I'm leaving the phrase and the concept of positive energy elementals.

For what it's worth I support having positive energy elementals. It makes sense with how weird the planes are that there's an elemental of just about everything.

Janni are Genies too and they die like regular mortals though. That implies that Genie take their power from their elemental connection, but that this connection is not as intrinsic as for an Elemental.

I just feel that the idea of the explicitly connected races of people as entire unrelated Elementals+ is supremely weird.

This is what I've got so far. Not super happy with it, but our choices are limited. 300 to 500 Bloody Bones are not easily combated.

[] Warn everyone among our forces who are Telepathically linked by the Mind Dragon Telepathic Bond network that we are about to use several Blinding Glory spells to blind the enemy, but that some of our own people will be affected, too. Request any help Zathir and Nirah can provide to aid our forces against the Undead before moving on with the plan.
-[] Viserys, Lya, Dany, Vee, and nearby Erinyes will teleport themselves into position so that when they each activate a Blinding Glory charm, the resulting 3,400 foot spheres will engulf as much of the Center front as possible.
-[] Immediately before activating the charms, Viserys will use Blood Wish to cast Mage's Decree to address the entire battlefield.
--[] "Prepare for blinding effect. All enemies within the light will be blinded, but so too will some of your allies. Don't panic. We will triumph!"
-[] Once the charms are activated, the Erinyes will Teleport to safety while Viserys and Dany quickly move about the troops using Dragon's Roar spells (cast using spell slots for Viserys and Mythic power for Dany) to bolster our forces and destroy the enemy while Tyene, Vee, and Lya use AoE combat spells (Sunburst, Greater Black Tentacles, etc) and Summoned creatures to target large concentrations of Undead which have not yet reached our forces. Our other forces who can help with this, including skyships and Fiery Dragonbeasts, will do the same.
-[] Once they've each cast a pair of Dragon's Roar spells, Viserys and Dany will reassess their priorities based on the progress of the battle and either continue using it or join the rest of the Companions using AoE combat spells.

Janni in this perspective would be born of the intermingling of various elemental genie types long long ago in the City of Gold before it became the city of Brass. As they shared of the nature of all elements they became more akin to creatures of the Prime material plane who likewise share of the nature of all elements.

Bloody Bones have Lifesense anyway, Blinding Glory is useless against them.
Please do not heavily disrupt our army for little gain.

The Mists and the Bones don't need eyes to see, the lesser dead will mindlessly continue regardless of the blindness-penalties.

Meanwhile we have a very real chance of blinding our allies on Namaaru's flank with this stunt, the area is just too big.

I'm still holding that if there was ever a time to ask Yss or the Old gods to stick their noses in it will be now, but I digress.

You already have my vote.

The mist is what allows them to teleport like as not.

Not quite.
They can inherently teleport, but only through reflective surfaces, so jumping out of puddles of blood or a polished shield looks like good options for them.

[X] Goldfish

Could we use a mass turn undead? That should work, and Dany might be able to do it.
She can hit about 20 HD worth of Undead, which is negligible in this fight.

Plan updated.

I think this is the best we can do under the circumstances.

[X] Telepathically request any Divine assistance Zathir and Yss (acting through Nirah) can provide to aid our forces.
-[X] Viserys and Dany quickly move about the troops using Dragon's Roar spells (cast using spell slots for Viserys and Mythic power for Dany) to bolster our forces and destroy the enemy while Tyene, Vee, and Lya use AoE combat spells (Sunburst, Greater Black Tentacles scrolls, Control Winds, etc) and Summoned creatures to target large concentrations of Undead, especially the remaining mists, which have not yet reached our forces. Our other forces who can help with this, including skyships, Heralds, and Fiery Dragonbeasts, will do the same.
-[X] Mages among our forces will use Recitation, Righteous Wrath of the Faithful, and Pillar of Life spell scrolls to bolster their allies, while Plant servitors continue using their Entangle SLAs to hamper groups of Undead.
-[X] Erinyes will begin focusing on Bloody Bones who are attacking our forces, first hitting them with Gravemarker Arrows before switching to normal ammunition.
-[X] Once they've each cast three Dragon's Roar spells, Viserys and Dany will reassess their priorities based on the progress of the battle and either continue using it or join the rest of the Companions and allies using AoE combat spells.
