@DragonParadox, can we get an explanation for how the fuck Dany was able to sense the Soul Reaper/Daemon? Was there some hidden perception roll?

Every character in the party member a 'bad feeling' roll on account of all of them having fought the Void before and just being generally cautious people because that is how you guys played them. Dany as one of the people with the highest Wis scores was the one to actually make the roll. This is not going to happen every time there's a potential issue but I feel companions should have agency. I apparently need to work more on non-party agency though

The sheer scope of the world makes it daunting sometime, but it's a fun ride just the same and I hope that is so for you guys as well

Sweet, so there was a roll.

Is there any type of item that we could make to help with Void detection? 🤔

Void detection specifically, you would have to do research into one of Rina's class abilities to see if you can replicate it.
Duly noted. By chance what would be the progress on something like that?

@Goldfish, since we're about to try to bind the daemon using the sympathetic link between it and the Soul Reaper corpse, do you think it'd be good to invite the delegates from the Sarnori cities we've already dealt with to witness? This directly concerns them, and in this case transparency serves us better.

Either that or once we capture the daemon we invite them to participate in interrogation.

I don't want them present for that. Too many extra variables to account for, IMO.

We can expose people to the void and them have them walk around with wisdom boost items.
Lya: "This won't hurt a bit. We're just going to expose you to a slight amount of extrauniversal eldritch uncreation. Any damage to your sanity should be mitigated by the mental integrity booster we're going to bolt to your skull."

Lya2: "With any luck, you'll then have a chance to detect Void manifestations in your general vicinity."

Y'know, I just had an epiphany.

The Planes are mostly fucked. Scratch that, they're fucked. With no Overgod overseeing everything to make sure everyone fulfil their duties, the Plane Material's disappearance for several century from the Great Wheel, the Void having a foothold over in Mount Celestia, all Good-aligned Planes are overruled by Baator, the Blood War is somehow still ensuing, the Empyreal Lords are gone, most Chromatic Dragon Species are also gone or dominated barring the Red-Chromatic, the utter lack of Metallic Dragons, and the Illithids being alien and powerful as always.

Amidst all of this, there is one place where the denizens are relatively untouched by the gaping maw of Chaos and the influence of Evil.

That is, the Far Realm.

Does anyone have any explanation why this is not the case?

[X] Goldfish

Some times the simplest options are the best. That and we are going to Annex them anyway so the Inquisition will be operation fully in their city soon enough as per their Mandate.

Because they're far away?

/dodges tomato

Look, from what I can tell of the Far Realm lore in other settings, it's a type of place that doesn't belong in normal reality, kind of like the Void, but instead of being the ultimate Entropy it's kind of like an alternate reality where 2 + 2 = puppy, and that kind of reaction is kind of bad for normal reality so that's why things start to burn.

You are correct, but the reason is that the Far Realm is literally too unstable for consistent morality, or for that matter entropy. And I imagine chaos just loses meaning in a realm where it is the status quo.

The Far Realms aren't connected to the Planes by nature. They aren't bound by our rules, they don't have the same problems. They could very well be under threat by the Void... or there could be something worse in there that we're not aware of. There's no way to tell.

The Far Realms are the DnD version of beyond the Outer Gates. You may get Barny The Friendly Beholder or you might get Cthulhu, heck you might get Fred the Friendly Cthulhu who wants to be your friend.

A friendly Cthulhu would be such a whiplash. I'd be torn between relief that we get to avoid a fight and dismay that we'll never get a chance at a Cthulhu trophy.
