That sort of discounts the opportunity cost of that research time. If we can pay for the warforged with raiding or something and use those 50 points of research on either a new useful project or advancing an old one then we get more advantages at an earlier time than we otherwise would. The calculus is easier than you think.
I would rather pay half monies, instead of paying all monies.
That's half of one monies we could keep.
MATH.
I'm in favor of solving this kind of problem by applying for an Efreeti research grant. We're about due to renegotiate our last one anyway.I might be biased, given that I have to stare and weep at the state of our ledgers every single turn.
Yeah we definitely need to know how much this earn us, if it earn us 5IM per undead partially sacrificed it's not at all worth it, if it earn us 50IM per undead sacrificed, then it's worth it, if the high calculations for how many we need to turn into Warforged turn out to be true(20k or more undead who want to be warforged) and if it earn us 100IM or more per undead partially sacrificed, then it's worth it as long as the number of undead we need to turn into warforged is above 5-10k(it can be worth it with as little as 5k undead and 100IM per undead, as the income per undead, also determine how valuable this is if we want to use it again later.)This is ultimately a question of time, since once we have the agreement of those who consent to the switch to warforged we can take it at a more reasonable pace. More money is easier to acquire than more research hours, so I'm inclined to just go for the option that lets us start early and charge it to our Efreeti line of credit.
The opportunity cost of the research is also of note; it's time spent researching a solved problem that we could be putting towards our many other projects.
If the cost reduction is really good it might still be worth it, but it'd have to be a extraordinarily good deal to be worth it in my opinion.
What do you mean by "earn" I'm skeptical of the idea that we can extract more value out of this than the body swap process itself costs. Getting the undead to pay an additional fee seems like a waste of the good will we could be earning for with them.Yeah we definitely need to know how much this earn us, if it earn us 5IM per undead partially sacrificed it's not at all worth it, if it earn us 50IM per undead sacrificed, then it's worth it, if the high calculations for how many we need to turn into Warforged turn out to be true(20k or more undead who want to be warforged) and if it earn us 100IM or more per undead partially sacrificed, then it's worth it as long as the number of undead we need to turn into warforged is above 5-10k(it can be worth it with as little as 5k undead and 100IM per undead, as the income per undead, also determine how valuable this is if we want to use it again later.)
Yeah but you need to spend money to get to the shiny.
What're you gonna do without the monies to get the shinies?
LAMENT.
I would rather make a CR 15 Watch-Seeker instead of trying to cram more into The Seeker.@DragonParadox, is it possible to apply the Watchman-Creature template on top of the Seeker (CR 15) unit as a "custom job" of sorts? Fleshforge limit on CR aside, a separate RA of sorts.
Or is the core of the template too intrinsic to apply "on top" of something not made with it in mind?
Sure, a good sort of "it will fuck you up"-servitor to try and make.I would rather make a CR 15 Watch-Seeker instead of trying to cram more into The Seeker.

It would definitely be best to run the queen lady through her... options before we commit to a plan.
Reincarnation. She seems excited enough about the imminent ass-whooping to hop on a chariot and ride out herself. In regards to the slaughter we are about to unleash upon Sarnor or in regards to reincarnation?

edit:
@Crake I am concerned because I feel like your vote kind of indirectly calls all the undead of sarnor tools.
If your plan is worth it is really going to depend on how many warforged we need to create. 10k husks is "only" 2.25M IM, which is a lot easier for us to spare than 50 research points right now. If its 100k + husks, then justifying the research is a lot easier.I expect Mardosh alone to have much more than that, everyone in the city were returned as undead, and they're all sapient undead, 5000 isn't a city, that's only a town, Mardosh probably has a population at least between 50k and 100k, and I think at least 1 in 5 will want to become a Warforged over remaining undead or passing on to the afterlife, so Mardosh alone should need at least 10k husks, and might need more than 20k husks.
Again though, the more Warforging we are offering - the more they are paying us for those (I mean c'mon, we won't be doing it out of our heart's desire. We won't make them overpay, but it'll still cost them a little bit over every body's made self-production cost), the closer we are tied even if they aren't immediately vassalized.[X] Crake
