That's fair. You don't rule a prosperous age by bending the knee to whatever well talking dandy wanders into your palace with shiny trinkets and compliments.OOC: It is Viserys' estimation that asking for fealty without any building of trust before hand is unlikely to work. Not yet edited.
At this point "Not ruling a desecrated husk filled with undead" is probably high on the list of priorities. It easy to be unhappy. But what does she actually want? To come back to life? For her people to? Revenge? Peace? Ect?
Called it. Undead hate being undead. The last words fall like the stroke of thunder echoing under stone, a denial of the curse of her people that seems to steal the air from the chamber. Whatever else the present Queen of Sathar is she is not content with her lot in unlife. You can use that, but you must be careful that her pride is not roused against you
While her pride makes her hate the desecration even more, that hardly means she likes being undead as was being argued before. From Viserys' read it seems she hates less being undead and more living in ruins of her once proud and prosperous home. Note it's not 'I hate living ina tomb where is a skull to pose dramatically with' and more 'I hade living in an open desecrated tomb.'
Sallosh already has a governor, and the ghosts there promised to aid him and his people. We can't just take authority away from him.How about we use her as the new ruler of undead Sallosh and unify all the undead polities under her?
I mean, there are sensible undead out there, they are not all cartoon villians.
I'll word it as resurrection for any she chooses, with the implication of her being welcome to it being obvious.@Duesal shes probably not going to be interested in ressurection, and might be offended by it. Ask if she has any subordinates that she would like raised instead.
My read of her is that she was perfectly happy being dead. But then her descendants woke her up and told her 'GreatGreat... Greatgrandma, we fucked everything up' and now she's mad as hell because she needs to fix this mess. The undead thing is a secondary problem at best, going back into her nice tomb after she fixes things would be perfectly alright by her. While her pride makes her hate the desecration even more, that hardly means she likes being undead as was being argued before.
The same ritual that Amrelath and Laenor benefited from. Both were way beyond normal means of resurrection, so we just made a new fleshy body and stuck their undead husks in it, and at the end of it they were alive again. It's a bit more expensive than is convenient, though. As an aside. What do we actually have that can raise them properly?
None of the standard spells will work, flesh forged bodys and soul manipulation?
I'm not sure how to approach that at the moment.
I'm thinking earn some trust first with one of the proposed agreements, then segue into the foreign policy she needs to know to take our offer: "My kingdom, which is the entity offering you trade and/or backing, is here, other people are there and there, the enemies of all sanity are over yonder". And the latter will lead us into how the Others/Bloodstone Emperor are backed by the Void, this spooky metaphysical force with power over undead.
That's part of what I meant by legitimacy. The... optics. Of her running around and taking over much of Sarnor is better because, especially as an undead, shes one of them. How about we use her as the new ruler of undead Sallosh and unify all the undead polities under her?

The research is not yet finished.-[X] Start with Wyla's research for stabilizing sentient undead as a gift given in good faith
That was my understanding of it as well. She's not happy to be back at all, much less in this state, and looking at the fact that Sarnor is gone and its current inhabitants are a mockery of the past. That said, while I agree that she does want rest again, she also seems too duty-bound to ever go for it. The next best thing is buckling down and fixing the mess.My read of her is that she was perfectly happy being dead. But then her descendants woke her up and told her 'GreatGreat... We could build some of that trust by inviting her to fight alongside us in the campaign against the rest of Sarnor, even going so far as to offer her rights to the relics of her people. We're not doing this campaign for loot, we're doing it to get rid of a threat.I'm thinking earn some trust first, then segue into foreign policy: "My kingdom is here, other people are there, the enemies of all sanity are over yonder". Great. Changing that part then. The research is not yet finished.
We are not even sure if that can be applied to existing undead, or only to newly raised ones.
We may also have to ease up on the sacrifice of our prisoners. Or at least sound her out on her stance towards such things. Normally I'd assume she'd be against doing that to her fellow undead from Sarnor, but she may actually be angry enough over this whole mess to say fuck them.We could build some of that trust by inviting her to fight alongside us in the campaign against the rest of Sarnor, even going so far as to offer her rights to the relics of her people. That's fine by me. My priority here is just cleaning house. We may also have to ease up on the sacrifice of our prisoners. Or at least sound her out on her stance towards such things.
Can this be done along with sacrifice? Can we cast spark of life on them, have them sacrifice themselves before a Heart Tree, use create soul gem to catch the soul before it pass on, and then put the soul into the new body? You can't just release a soul into a body, you need magic to bind it, lesser magic than raise dead, but magic just the same. That said if you do not actually want the soul stone and the easy restoration it provides than yes 30 progress and then grow bodies, with the caveat that it is going to be harder to grow bodies for particularly exceptional individuals (Anyone with more than 6 HD and Classes).
@DragonParadox, would she respond well to an invitation to join our campaign against the rest of the Sarnori?
