Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
[X] The warm western wind, herald of spring (enhances Avoid effects of art)
[X] The tempestuous northern wind, bringer of storms (Enhances speed and initiative effects of art)

I keep forgetting we have a dedicated stealth art... which, I suppose, is appropriate :V

Does mean that putting stealth on this is less critical to our capabilities, though, so thanks for the heads-up.
Stealth tends to be binary. Either it works or it doesn't. Not like damage or speed where you can have partial successes. If you are going to do stealth it is worth overdoing a bit.

Stealth and avoid, both have similar funtions in regards to not take damage in first place. The way i see it it goes by phases. Stealth>Avoid>Armor. It's for this that i say that it's better to upgrade stealth. The need to use avoid indicates that someone have attacked you, so you are spotted, and that limits the things you can do. The use of Stealth does not always says that you are in a bad position, it has more uses, even outside of the battlefield. It's better, in my opinion, to have better stealth.

Focusing on the narrative of the choices, I like what each is trying to say.

[] The tempestuous northern wind, bringer of storms (Enhances speed and initiative effects of art)

The Grinning Moon is a trickster, no doubt. And the role of the Trickster is to challenge (and hopefully change) the status quo, which the north wind seems to embody. The storm imagery implies action but also power and/or violence, which seems un-Trickster-like in my opinion.

[] The warm western wind, herald of spring (enhances Avoid effects of art)

West wind plays nicely into cycles, which fits nicely into some themes the thread has been looking at. This choice also implies change, but in a more gentle fashion than the northern wind. However, that makes me feel this choice is Trickster-lite. It reminds me of the Jester, one who makes fun of (and questions) the status quo, but not one to provoke major or rapid changes.

[] The cold south wind, which cut to the bone (enhances offensive aspects of art)

Ling Qi is winter-like in many way, and I guess the south wind would reinforce that similarity. Not much to say since it's almost preserving the status quo in a meta-way.

[] the gentle eastern wind, unnoticed by all (enhances stealth effects of art)

The eastern wind has the sneakiness of the Trickster, but none of the mention of change. Which would make it like a Phantom Thief? I suppose that's oddly appropriate in many ways considering Ling Qi's circumstances.

[X] the gentle eastern wind, unnoticed by all (enhances stealth effects of art)

I enjoy the idea of seeing Ling Qi assume the role of a phantom thief more than the alternatives. I could see any working nicely, but this one is a direction I'd enjoy seeing more of.
