Part of the propaganda campaign needs to include a children's MirrorVision program featuring heroic Imperial Leshy who fight the enemies of life and sanity. The stoic Fungal Leshy, the placid Seaweed Leshy, the gregarious Lotus Leshy, the spirited Snapdragon Leshy, and many others would be series regulars, combating evil Daemons, Undead, and Deep Ones, and their despicable Human collaborators.

Perhaps they could have mortal partners, invariably young magical children with special powers, who assist them? Maybe each Leshy and their partner could even use a special talisman to combine their powers and abilities to become the Leshy Rangers, mystical warriors who secretly protect the Imperium from threats the hapless adults are too busy to notice.
A Sentai series about Kobolds.

Go go Kobold Rangers!
There's an episode where evil versions of the Kobold Rangers get spat out of giant mirrors, as the evil plot is to transmit evil clones to replace people out of all the mirror visions broadcasting simultaneously.

It's up to the Kobold Rangers to stop it, as an evil version of the Companions and the Dragon Emperor could spell doom for all...

Say, anyone been keeping the quest in epub or pdf or something like that?

I just got my ability to spend significant amounts of time on SV significantly curtailed because apparently some stealth update to something on SV or Cloudfare finally did it and my iPad can't access it anymore.

I think someone was doing something like that...

Interlude DCCCXXIX: Weighing the Odds
Weighing the Odds

Sixth Day of the First Month 294 AC

Siduri would never quite get used to knowing she had a dragon at her back, claws fit to slice steel with jaws to crush a ship's mast and all. Even when said creature of sorcery and flame happened to be wearing a mortal or near-mortal form as he followed her through the winding paths of Adrajeen's Anchorage she could practically feel the weight of his gaze at the back of her skull, sharp with the lore of ages and hot with the same primordial greed that always made her worry at the end of a raid if this was the time the Ash Risen would just decide to claim all the spoils and fly off, and how in the black heart of Nessus she was going to explain it to the other Dragon in whose name they were sailing these days.

Be fair, he's not some hatchling fresh from the shell to risk future profits for some fat prize in front of his eyes, the sorceress reassured herself even as she nimbly dodged an inebriated or maybe just concussed ganzi, the kaleidoscope of clashing color in the woman's eyes making her faintly nauseous. Of course, Amrelath might just decide that we are wasting our time with subterfuge and just try to rob the port, came the markedly less reassuring part of the thought.

While the chaos of brawling, drinking and shouting spiced with the odd knifing that made up the usual anchorage's entertainment would have disgusted most efreeti it was still a place nominally loyal to the Brazen Throne. On top of that its position along the upper side of the Forgefire Loop made it one of the busiest trade routes in the Sea of Fire in times of peace, and now contested waves between the rebels and the loyalists made it the most likely place to learn of the heaviest and most valuable convoys they were to hunt this month. Nothing as ambitious as when we had the priestess but...

"It has to be a bloody trap, right?" Yrten's loud rumbling voice echoed into the dead silence of the chart room. "There's no way they would be that bloody stupid or us that lucky. A treasure fleet that's supposed to help pay for their garrisons and keep the Brass Bastard's pet salamanders on his side sailing with only two shield ships and six sword ships too guard it? The only way we would be shooting more mephits with one bolt would be if there was one of the Sultan's withered balls aboard to curse him through."

"The omens check out on the prize, though they come a little loose around the edges when it comes to the protections," Siduri noted, on the one hand glad to finally have access to foresight she would not have to squeeze out of an imp and then comb over for treachery, but one the other almost as wary of the whole business as the captain. She had learned to smell 'too good to be true' as a raider on the flaming waves. This smelled like death.

"Were you not the one who boasted the Golden Wind could out sail any efreeti craft afloat if it came to it?" Amrelath asked slyly.

From the way Yrten's beard bristled he'd struck a nerve, but not enough of a one for the captain not to grumble: "Aye, any one ship, three and five even. Now ten, twenty? The numbers start catching up with you."

"Well then, maybe we'll need more numbers of our own to catch up," Siduri mused, the fingers of her left hand tapping the edge of the table as they often did when she was concerned... or excited. "Let's see if we can't shake loose anything for the chase back in port, and then we'll decide if we aught to sail into this."

The notion earned her two nods, one more reluctant than the other maybe but a nod just the same.

The Golden Wind has just caught wind of an opportunity to raid what seems to be a very lucrative target, but may also be a trap. What do they do?

OOC: It's way too late to roll combat, though thankfully the introductory rolls were interesting enough for an interlude and vote.

Here's an edited version of the chapter, DP.

Clearly a trap. I suggest ignoring it.
I agree. They should instead look for a different target, perhaps one less defended since the Efreeti have probably diverted assets to use in the trap.
@Goldfish @DragonParadox You know those ships we had the Shaitan repair? The ones we looted back in Valyria?

How many was it? Five sword ships? Six?
My memory is shit, but I think it was six that could be repaired.

We should assign those, plus some other stuff to their raiding regardless. Might need to peruse for what we have free, but I mean even some Beetle Bombs could make a significant difference. Those things will fuck light ships up, and will be unpleasant for even heavier vessels.

Springing the trap every time makes us predictable, which us bad.
And note that the Efreet have a far higher power ceiling than us, so being predictable means losing.

[X] Leave it
-[X] The possibility of this being yet another trap is too high. Encourage Amrelath and the crew of the Golden Wind to instead look for less tempting but easier targets, perhaps focusing their intelligence gathering efforts toward learning if there are any Efreeti assets such as supply depots or border garrisons which may have been made vulnerable if patrol and support vessels had been diverted to help lay another trap. Although the prizes gained from lesser targets are not as attractive, the raiders efforts continue to keep pressure on the Efreeti military, thereby aiding our Djinni and Shaitan allies in the war effort.
