Hmm... composite armor is supposed to have overflow into the next tech, does anyone remember what that was planed as?
It's all in the most recent RA-list still:
[] Layering the Defenses: The composite mesh recovered from Varys was truly an ingenious work... Yet based on it, even more could be achieved.
-[] Develop the Composite Armor, combining the expertise of Fey artisans, Imperial magesmiths, and Celestial spellwork to create the sort of armor that has so far no equal in the world - not hindering the wearer in any way, yet leave no gaps or chinks in his defense. Light and inconspicuous, yet stopping even the blades of demonic warriors. (Progress: 20, Cost: 90,000 IM)

[] Tireless Steel, by Sorcery Moved: The art of golem-making is ancient indeed... but one has to wonder if it is possible to wring an armor in the same qualities, to create personal defense truly unsurpassable. (Requires the "Layering the Defenses"-Research Action)
-[] Develop the basic chassis of the Imperial Powered Armor systems - and create the Warden Pattern armor. (Progress: 26, Cost: 140.000 IM)
-[] Continue the research into the creation of unstoppable war-gear - develop Warlord Pattern armor [requires Warden Armor developed] (Progress: 30, Cost: 20.0000)
-[] Reach the peak of what is possible in the field without the direct Divine intervention - develop Titan Pattern armor [requires Warlord Pattern armor developed] (Progress: 30, Cost: 300.000 IM)
Click the links, Azel had a fuckload of fluff written out for the further armors

@egoo, with your new balaclava profile picture, every time I skim the thread and see you posting about "the RA" I instinctively assume that I've ended up in an Irish politics thread and get confused again.

Part MMMDLXI: Works of a New Age
Works of a New Age

Twenty Sixth Day of the First Month 294 AC

The jade-colored stone clinks on the table in front of you. Too light to be jade, the voice of long-honed instinct whispers in the back of your mind. More precious than diamonds, you know, watching the image unfold from the stone like a flower opening before the face of the sun. The image is grey and hazy, inconstant, almost as though the figure within, Riz'neth himself, jumps before the eye.

You lift your gaze to the actual serpent mage standing before you, twin tongues tasting the air in anticipation of your answer, whether in nervousness or simple curiosity you could not say for certain. "Excellent progress, Wisdom. Soon we shall have another of the arts of your ancestors recovered, another boon to all the realm, in truth the world entire."

"Is there a difference in your eye, Dragon Lord?" his odd echoing mind voice interjects. It takes you a moment to parse it out beyond the willfully blunt exterior and hear the humor beneath.

"Who can say what tomorrow might bring?" you counter in like manner. "Except, of course, memory stones for the silver mirror."

"As soon as we refine the arcane flow," twin pale heads bob through the air in an approximation of a nod. Meeting the unblinking crimson gaze you have no doubt he will succeed.

Not all the works of this past month are as far reaching nor as peaceful as the memory stone studies, as you discover that evening. Valeria is eager to show the armor she and Beryl helped design and draft with lore of half a dozen sources, with flesh-forged silk and weirwood sap, with celestial skill and fey grace. She is also not the only one who wants to show off. "Is there any reason you have Azema wearing the armor?" you ask dryly.

Layering the Defenses Part I Complete 20/20

The alu demon makes for a striking pose, you have to agree privately, the armor burnished crimson that shifts and glitters like flame as she cuts through the air with unhindered grace, as though she is wearing nothing heavier than silk. The armor is designed to be worn under clothing of course, but it is one thing to read about it in a proposal and quite another to see it with your own eyes.

"Because she's an inquisitor?" Valeria answers innocently, not doing a very good job at it. Then again she is hardly trying. A moment later the smile she had been trying to bite down on bursts onto her face. "And it's funny how she flirts at you."

"I flirt with him, thank you very much," Azema replies, landing as gracefully as she had flown.

"No, no, you definitely flirt at him," the incarnate replies instantly. "You would have more luck flirting with the wall over there. I could probably enchant it to flirt back. Wouldn't work on him."

"Thank you for that ringing enforcement of my character," you reply with a shake of the head, but a smile on your own lips also. It's a pleasant change from open court you have just attended, to be treated with a touch of levity. Sometimes you almost feel a few of the more effusive courtiers have confused you for an effigy in your own honor. You wonder how many would catch the jest if you mention the lack of snake-haired medusas in ascendance.

"Beryl has something a bit more solid in mind for those who do not need to hide their armor under clothes though," Valeria continues in slightly more serious tone. "In two words, 'construct armor'..."

"You know most people would say 'in one word'," Azema interjects, getting her revenge for the comment on flirting perhaps.

"Most people have no respect for proper language. That is why they aren't mages. They would probably blow themselves up with an improperly worded spell," the incarnate scoffs as she takes a stack of papers bound with silver clips from her enchanted bag. "She calls this the Warden Pattern Motion Assisted Armor..."

"Which is a bit of a mouthful to stick in the Imperial Times," the alu demon interjects. "Just call it power armor, it's nicely evocative, if calling it 'smash-good armor' is too blunt for you."

You would ask if Azema actually suggested calling it that initially, but you know her well enough to be quite certain she had. Still, as you look over the sketches for the massive suit of enchanted Valyrian steel and arcane ligaments, you have to agree that both names fit quite well.

Tireless Steel, by Sorcery Moved Progress 8/26

How many members of the Inquisition will take advantage of the new armor?

[] Only full inquisitors and trusted royal agents (Low Cost; very low chance of the armor being stolen)

[] Inquisitors, commissars, trusted agents and erinyes on guard duty (Medium cost, low chance of the armor being stolen)

[] Inquisitors and senior agents in their entourage (High cost, medium chance of the armor getting stolen)

[] Write in

OOC: Did not get to the Forge since it occurred to me that there is going to have to be a policy decision on the deployment of composite armor and it's probably best to have a clear vote now rather than put it in the turn vote when there is so much other stuff to handle.

With Asmodeus working against us we definitely don't want to take any chances.

We hoard the shit out of this until we're sure we can protect it better. Maybe some form of self-destruct if captured mechanism?

OOC: Did not get to the forge since it occurred to me that there is going to have to be a policy decision on the deployment of composite armor and it's probably best to have a clear vote now rather than put it in the turn vote when there is so much other stuff to handle. Not yet edited.
Here's an edited version of the chapter, DP.

[X] Only full inquisitors and trusted royal agents (Low Cost; very low chance of the armor being stolen)

This not only make sense from a logistics and security standpoint, but also for pure practicality. The armor is good, but it's not that good, certainly not enough to justify equipping too many people with it for that cost. What makes it so nice is that it can be worn unobtrusively. Not every Inquisitor or field agent needs to be secretly armored, or in the case of the Erinyes, already have enchanted armor and natural DR to rely on.

Weve got a big bank account and most factions have... not comparable options but they can get it if they need it.
