Outsiders shouldn't have the Dragon type, and vice versa. Those are both main creature types which don't normally mix. Even Tiamat's Abishai aren't Dragon typed.

It also makes them more vulnerable additional effects. If they had both types, they would be affected by spells which target Outsiders or Dragons, and Bane weapons could double up on them easily. An enemy with a +1 Dragon and lawful Outsider Bane weapon would effectively be wielding a +5 weapon against one of them with a +4d6 damage bonus.
We could do the general shape. Draconic-themed at the very least.
I was talking cosmetics, actually.

I am thinking about metallic fire angels mostly
Now that would be metal as fuck.

Oh yeah, cosmetically for sure, like @Tomcost said.

I was thinking about using an Abishai as a template for our own Outsiders. We would have to put our own spin on it, of course, but it would be a great way to poke Tiamat in the eye again.

There is the Dragonblooded Subtype, I think from Dragon Magic?
That has fewer weaknesses than the actual Dragon Type and it can be added to other creatures.

I don't like the whole dragon theme too much.

Viserys is a dragon, but the empire will grow to be much more than him.

The empire is held in the belief of much more than scaly reptiles. It is the fire of passion with the unbending strength of steel. Our outsiders should reflect that. Fire and steel.

Something like this, but with steel

No reason we can't get cosmetics of every type. We can have dragon-themed, fiery steel angel themed, etc.

I'm going to need a few more votes guys.
This isn't exactly a contested vote, @DragonParadox. There's literally no opposition to getting the Grimoire.

I want our outsider hierarchy to reflect our material hierachy in some way. We can have divine legionaires, sneaky crow-like inquisitors, phoenix-like teachers, draconic heralds, metallic darkenbeast enforcers, and the like.

Part MMMDLV: Faces Familiar and Strange
Faces Familiar and Strange

Twenty Fifth Day of the First Month 294 AC

The final bargain is amiably struck. Thus you find yourself more than one and half million marks poorer, yet still feeling fortunate for the bargain made. As far as you can tell no one in Heaven's Shore knows who Mikael Abdul-Hassan might be, nor are they unduly curious as to the matter, you have only had to cast a battle spell in earnest once and the authorities actually rewarded you for it... some of them at least. You make a mental note to avoid the Blessed Guard or any others who might be in the service of the puppet Lord of Heaven while in this guise. The copy of the book he had risked so much to obtain slips into the depths of your cloak, where only the gaze of a god has any hope of peering into.

Offered:
  1. Flesh to Steel Ritual
  2. Spirit's Kinship Ritual
  3. 1,606,000 IM
Received:
  1. Accounts of the Great Wheel and its Turning
  2. Ar'Azil's Grimoire
  3. Commission for a Clockwork Familiar (1 Month's time)

Somewhere far away from the broken skies and the dead light of Heaven's ruin the sun is only just sinking beyond the horizon. You have a bit more time to look for other odd beings and uncommon bargains. Perhaps the slave market to see if there are any you might buy and free, offering them a chance of a new life, or if not that the sickened celestial smith who hid his malady behind a glamour. Your magics have grown to their pinnacle since last you trod upon the alleyways of the Court of Travelers. Before you can decide upon either, go this way or that, you spy a familiar face outside a winesink filled with revelry at once melodious and frantic. A face you had not expected to see here of all places, so much so that you invoke a spell of true-sight to ensure your eyes to not deceive you by some hidden design...

No, that is indeed Garantos of Elysium, first bright spirit you had ever met among the canals of Braavos long before you knew the true shape of the Spheres or the tragedy of the Sundering. This is certainly not what you would have imagined when thinking of a meeting in Heaven with the otherworldly bravo when he had been banished back from whence he came in the final confrontation with Lileath. Then again, had you been asked the same question a few months back your answer would have bleaker. To be hurled into the chaos of sundered Elysium unbidden by demonic magic might well have been his doom.

Yet here he was, looking none the worse for wear save the fine coat of grey dust on his bottle green doublet, the Braavosi styling looking odd indeed to your eyes, though to most passersby it must seem little more than azata whim.

"...by all that is still good in the world you cannot mean that they will grind you up like gristle between their gears?" His voice on the other hand had little of the easy charm you had heard in Braavos, instead it earnest and pained just below the surface.

Glancing carefully at his companion you are surprised to see a warrior of clear infernal blood, a spear slung over his shoulder, a warding amulet in another.

"Why did the fool take that off here of all places," Ser Richard grouses silently, though he too seems to have been struck by the sight of the azata you had met those many years ago.

Listening in on the conversation for a few more moments reveals that the warrior, Uruiz, means to join the legions of Bel as a mercenary, and one of the requirements for such is a brief interrogation using magic to root out any spies. Garantos' opinion about the wisdom, or lack thereof, of this course of action are almost as strong as Ser Richard's, though he gets it across in more diplomatic language than the knight shares in your thoughts

"The demons have been breaking against the bulwark of Hell from time out of mind and they will continue to do so for ages more to come, whether or not you join them. They will hardly know or care for your presence. You will be a rounding error in some devil's ledger."

"So my life, my choices, mean nothing, singing a different tune that usual aren't you," the warrior snaps, anger and frustration bubbling in his tone.

"No, this... this means nothing, choice is precious, but not all choices are equal," Garantos tries again, though you can hear the desperation in his voice just as you see the resolve in the others' dark gaze.

He will not be swayed... unless you intervene.

What do you do?

@DragonParadox, didn't we already summon Garantos to Prime Material and set him loose? How'd he get banished again?

EDIT: Give me a bit, I'll see if I can hunt down the update.

You talked about it a lot but I don't think you actually did. I did a search for his name just to be sure and nothing came up. Still I could be forgetting a minor action somewhere. If you guys can find a moment where you actually did it I'll retcon the update (since in that case he would be with Rella in Braavos).

I think it might be a case of his name being misspelled at the time. I'm searching now to see if I can find anything.

I don't recall ever summoning him back, I think we lacked the means to do so then and so it never got done inbetween other work.

We do kinda owe him so all for talking.

I'm so confused. I explicitly remember an update where we summoned Garantos, had a brief conversation with him and his fling, then set him loose in the Imperium to do as he pleased so long as he obeyed the law. But it was such a non-issue that it was barely covered in that single update. And now I can't find it.

Even if I'm not going insane and it really did happen, it would have happened so briefly that it could be ignored, so whatever. Sorry for the confusion, @DragonParadox.

Ah, @Duesal. I think I know who are you talking about.

The Azata that you mentioned is the one that we purchased when we first arrived to Heaven's Shore. He was a brain dead slave at the time. And we've taken our time to heal him back into cognizance, have our other Azata vassal (the Lady of Skagos) help him regain his steps, and let him lose 'pon the Imperium.

He's recently vowed to serve us, but as of now I have no idea where he is.

No, that's not the one I was thinking of, though I can see why you'd think I thought that.

I remember (or I might just be going insane) summoning Garantos specifically, reintroducing him to his fling, and then setting them both loose.

As for the Realis Azata, he's been hired to work as a Scholarum teacher at the moment.

No problem, I thought he might have been summoned at least enough to search his name, his species and his lover's name just to be sure, so who knows, maybe it is somewhere in the thousands of past updates. If someone catches up confused after binge reading the quest we'll know and I'll have to come up with a handwave. :V

Well, I am rereading through the updates, so if I find it, I will let you guys know.

I'm almost sure we indeed summoned him. But I can't remember the update.

@egoo do you remember having him in the summoning lists? This was way before we had any organization whatsoever.

I think you might be going insane, dude (welcome to the club!). My memory is shit, but I don't ever recall us doing more than talking about Summoning this guy. I'm pretty sure we never actually did it.
