On a different note, I really liked the chapter. While the fight itself came a bit short and felt a bit floaty the focus on the scene seems to have been on the social with Wang Chao, which was very nice."Hm, not frightening enough I think," Ling Qi pondered, thinking back to that fort, and the enemy commander who had so easily denied her.
"Hah, Miss Ling is too modest. You are a very frightening woman indeed, according to most," Wang Chao laughed.
Ling Qi frowned, somehow the way he said that made it seem bad.
"Big Sis is the scariest one," Gui said proudly.
That just made her feel worse.
"Hey, you get the reputation you earn," Sixiang teased.
Ling Qi huffed. "I think I need a few moments to cultivate my reserves back to full, if you don't mind."
I mean, it does makes sense storywise. @yrsillar has clearly been building up the Job vs Family conflict and with our next advance insight building it only makes sense that it is about making it a "Your work is more important then your family" insight or not.I am frustrated that "Zhengui or mission" keeps being the tradeoff.
Imagine not being able to fly or at least ignore physical obstacles.Imagine clawing your way out of a nightmarish hellscape, only to be picked up by some fucking birb and then dropped off back at the beginning.
"I want to get off MISS LINGS WILD RIDE"
"Hmph, foolish Gui should cease doubting his own power," Zhen hissed. "We are mighty, and will only grow mightier still."
Seems sensible to mention the unfriendly dream spirit that we met at the time that... he also met a dream spirit, yes. Also, it seems like we never talked to Xuan Shi about his new spirit. Seems like we should maybe tell our new friend about the horrible nightmare spirit that may be using him for their own amusment. That would be a friendly thing to checkup on.
