The position of Hand is not filled right now because Robert really wanted Eddard but was not able to get to the North due to the tense situation in the Crownlands.

Can't the rotund bastard... I don't know, just teleport up North? He has Lanna and his pet-wizards. Hell, he has other non-mages who's able to do that!

Or...

*GASP*

IT'S A SIMURGH BLOODRAVEN PLOT!!! :eek2::eek2:

Damn, the treasury of Westeros is down to about 25 or 30 percent of our crafting budget for just one month...

Do we have any idea how much Baelish has embezzled, @DragonParadox?

The Lannisters are probably blocking that.

Tywin would have little reason to aid Eddard Stark in becoming the Hand of the King when he believes that position is rightfully his.

Not much point in contesting that fleet in the water when a Moonchaser can demolish it without taking any return fire.

If Moonsong is able to crush the entirety of the Royal Fleet on her lonesome with her Crew, will she attain a Mythic Rank?

...nah, too weak those fools are. Probably would've turned into but a single paragraph in the annals of History.

"And on the eve of the Fourth Month of the year 293 AC, Admiral Moonsong obliterated the Royal Fleet. Opening the first strike upon the Westetosi Reconquest."

Or some drivel like that~.

My favorite was always attacking from below.

How much water pressure can the Moonchaser take and how do the guns work under water?
I think I've designed it for about 1,500m to 2,000m depth. The steam cannons don't work terrible well under these conditions since we don't have super-cavitating ammo, but the launchers, beetle bomb racks and steam projectors work fine.

My idea was to send a bunch of celestials with the Dawnrunner. Call for a surrender and if they reject, start shelling them from a klick away until they reconsider.

What I'm expecting from Lannisters at this point, is using offshore crafting Havens to make WMDs against us.
Or rather, against our non-magical, extra-squishy populace.

I recon, Tywin can argue the "scorched earth" policy to Lana and the rest of his peeps long as he doesn't go full-"Let's summon Daemons and have a party!" on us in an attempt to do something.
Throw down enough bio-weapons like the one we dropped in Lannisport, and Lannsiters could expect us to try and put out fires in person.
Then, when we are busy, drop a team of high-cost extraplanar mercs, hoping to kill us off.
Even if above fails, well, I think Tywin is the sort of an ass that would do everything he can to hurt us if he knows he's gonna fail otherwise. Our people are the easiest target, however he does that.

The alternative is that Lannsiters are building some extra-elite Warforms with anti-dragon Maelstrom Canons in a desperate attempt to just gun us down.
That is hella difficult but theoretically possible to accomplish.
If the Efreeti can have more-or-less mass produced lazor weapons of ~14d6 on their ships, Lannisters probably could've found a supplier somewhere, what with all of their wealth.

We've assigned a decent bodyguard detail to protecting Monford, but we might want to beef it up a bit. Some Divinations directed toward learning more of the planned assassination needs to happen, too.

[X] Plan All The Little Things - Westerlands Edition, Part 1
-[X] The Westerlands
--[X] Everything he knows about Tywins current activities.
--[X] Everything on the Golden Shields, their number, order of battle, current deployments and so on.
--[X] A short overview of the current situation between Tywin, Cersei and Robert, especially in regards to the legitimacy of Robert in the eyes of the wider realm.
--[X] All he knows about their dragons. Location, deployments, riders and so on.
--[X] All he knows about potential dissent or defectors in the Westerlands.

--[X] At this point, it should be noted that it would be nice if he can keep us updated on the location of Gregor Clegane and Armory Lorch over the usual channels, since the time is approaching to make a lot of people very happy.

[X] Along with the bodyguards assigned to Monford this month, we will also send him a care package with the following equipment:
-[X] Bead of Newt Prevention (Single-use), Earring of Arcane Acuity, Handy Haversack, Pendant of Warding (Protection from Good, +5 Resistance bonus to saving throws), Restorative Ointment, Greater Ribbon of Disguise, Ring of Untarnished Glory (+2 Charisma, +2 Wisdom), Ring of Detect Poison (At Will), Soulfire Bracers (+1), Teleport Charm, Plane Shift Charm, Sending Stone
-[X] With the following Alchemical items: Antitoxin x3, Antiplague x3, Auran Mask x3, Healing Salve x10

Monford should already be on Divination watch since we got the first hints of this plot.

What is his guard detail looking like right now?

Lemmie check...
[] Monford - 1 Plant-Imbued Shadow Creature Cat (w/+4 Racial HD) (CR 6, 6 HD), 1 Advanced Sorcerer Creature Snapdragon Leshy (w/+8 Racial HD) (CR 10, 14 HD), 1 Black Champion, 1 Erynies.
Not all that many, but decent enough against some basic assasin.

But, since Cersei's plan includes someone under a Mindblank, well, we may or may not want to make a Simulacrum of the man filled with Wildfire.
...I just really want to explode someone with a Fake!Body full of Wildfire and VS shrapnel, okay?!
Varys can't explode soon enough.
😿

Is this you being serious or you being paranoid again? Because I can't really tell the difference.

We have zero idea about what Lannisters plans are, and the same for that are their resources.
So I'm just throwing it out there as what I think the Lannisters have as the base plans, any asspulls not included.

...Judging by the lack of general complete panic there, well, we can expect some asspulls.

@Goldfish, can we incorporate the Fork communication device to be used as a Radar of sorts to the Goldcloaks that uses it?
That would almost certainly require a research action of it was even possible, and I don't think it is. Magic isn't like radio transmissions which can be intercepted and interpreted using the correct equipment.

I'd think about giving Monford a one-time item of Word of Recall, keyed to the warded Inquisition base in SD. Maybe couple it with a Cloak of Resistance or some other save-booster.
