Part MMMCDXLXXI: Infrastructure Report on the Three Daughters
Infrastructure Report on the Three Daughters

The Inquisition reports success in establishing a foothold both in Lorath, newly a part of the Empire and Norvos, a target for mid-term expansion. Neither city has reported any alarming supernatural or other urgent threat, though there are certainly strange happenings aplenty in Norvos. At least the enormous chasm in the middle of the city does not seem to have opened up to Hell, or the Abyss, one weary inquisitor notes.

Establish Inquisition Base in Norvos (42/32)
Establish Inquisition Base in Lorath (13/10)

In further domestic news the administration of Tyrosh has continued to expand with only the expected amounts of meddling from local power structures against imperial oversight. As in all the Three Daughters urban population continues to surge as former estate-slaves seek out their fortune in the city.

Expand Administration in Tyrosh (10/61)

The expansion of the Messenger Service through the Former Disputed Lands also continues at a swifter peace than estimated, though still far from attaining full integration over the province. Though bandits and former sellswords continue to haunt the roads in some parts of the province their ranks seem to be thinning as some die to the swords of the Legion and others are drawn to its banners

Establish Messenger Service in the Western Disputed Lands (21/160)

Efforts to expand on the sanitation system of Lys have been met with enthusiasm. Memories of the plague four years ago are still fresh among highborn and lowborn alike. Views of the united realm among the priesthood of the Weeping Lady are even more positive than they were in the wake of donations a few months prior. Low magic rituals are growing ever more common among priests and lady folk alike even as plans for new Houses of Healing are unveiled.

Establish Healthcare Services in Lys (27/46)

In Myr the old Valyrian sanitation system provides a solid basis for expansion and new guard posts secure the hinterlands against any brigands who seek to prey on the increased trade.

Construct Sanitation Systems (18/28)
Establish Guard Posts in Myr (8/3)

Unfortunately the same cannot be said to be the case in the Eastern Flatlands where large scale organized raids by former sellswords have destroyed several guard posts and even looted an armory of weapons and supplies, emboldening the local robber bands. There are yet unsubstantiated reports of magic use among the brigands. By contrast in the Daughter's March a newly cut road has discovered what looks to be a rich iron deposit on Crown owned land.

Establish Messenger Service in Northern Disputed Lands (4/67)
Establish Messenger Service in Daughter's March (9/54) -> Gained Rich Iron Deposit
Establish Guard Posts in Eastern Flatlands (5/70) -> Lost 5,000 IM due to brigand raids

What do you do about the iron deposit?

OOC: And here we are one crit-fail and one cit-success on infrastructure actions so far.

While annoying and rather small...it would be funny to just pop in and "air out our grievances" with these gentlemen.

[X] A small court of pech and Bulabar have asked to set up shop in the area. They will be granted leave to do so.

[X] You will have the brigands in the Eastern Flatlands hunted down and executed by the Legion, the mages or their benefactors interrogated until they are wrung dry by the Inquisition.

Ah, very nice. You always make these infrastructure interludes seem interesting as well as satisfying, which is no mean feat!

Her face was a different one. Her name was a different one. Vonilda Ambrose, firstborn daughter of Lord Arthur Ambrose and Lady Alysanne Ambrose ne Hightower. Her face should have been greeting her in the morning, but it did not and it likely never would again. For Vonilda Ambrose was dead and gone. She was dead and gone. Nobody even had bothered to inform her about how her life had ended. Was it painful? Had she suffered? Did the Lord and Lady Ambrose grieve the passing of her daughter? She didn't know. Nobody had told her any of this and neither had she asked. She didn't dare to.
I was wondering what she was up to. I'm looking forward to seeing more from her.

Excellent. 👌

The Inquisition shall grow.

It's going to be so satisfying when these finally complete.

Is it bad I kind of want to go out and deal with the sellswords personally as a big fuck off dragon? Maybe sick the Black Dread on them?

@Azel, now I kinda feel sorry for Vonilda, though she did get a pretty damned good deal, IMO.

@DragonParadox, it's so satisfying to see civilization spreading across Essos.

@Crake, perhaps part of the response to brigands in the Eastern Flatlands could include a flight of Heralds? We've had eight more come online this month.

That autocorrupt is really all over you tonight.

Yeah, I'll assign a pack of Heralds during the turn vote to help burn them out. Truthfully the Legion and Nettles could probably handle it on their own, but why kill when you can overkill?

The vindictive part of me is happy people are suicidal enough to strike at the Crown in any fashion at all these days.

It gives a perfect excuse to cow and terrify the more cautious rebels into compliance by making them abject examples of what poking the Dragon gets them.

@Crake, if you want to be needlessly cruel to the bandits, make it the shakedown flight for the Dawnrunner to go after them.

Given that the flatlands remain a source of uppity idiots, I'm all in favor of going for maximum T-posing.

There are rogue Fey in the hinterlands here. We need to make sure the bandits don't start cooperating with them.
