[X] As Buttercup, trying to gain the favour of the lady and thus inadvertently steering the topic to her opinion of the Fey.
TBH we would probably have better luck disguising ourselves as Ser Geralt. He's at least... somewhat respectable, compared to his company.

But it would be odd if he suddenly becomes a charmer.

And our diplo rolls are bullshit enough to get through her disdain for bards.

Something we overheard Ashford's mother say when she was bitching at him about crowning Rina after the joust is bothering me.
"Isn't it enough that I have to live half in their world, now you have to invite them and the vagrants that trail after them to a feast in their honor like they are..."
We know there is Feywild spillover, Fey contamination, or something similar affecting the region, but the way Adara complained makes me think there is more to the effect than Ashford told us. I don't believe he was trying to deceive us, though. He may not realize the effect, or worse, may no longer be able to realize it, depending on the terms of his pact.

That's... that's deeply concerning.

I was not expecting the Court of Stars to be our next big problem. I can only be impressed they managed to supersede the Deep Ones in urgency.

Ey, worst case of escalation happening (they dont back down, dont diplomance, and start actively inciting people against us) we grab all the Fey we can before they go into their Feywild-club, and then put down the curse, sacrificing them to cut off all Feywild-influences over the "Reach"-sized area.

I'm sure that'd be possible if we bring some Divine help on board, and given about 1k HD of fae to play around with.
Which we may just.

The similar effects have been showcased before, iirc...

The mother is definitely a good source of information. Problem is she thinks Rina is a Fae Lady and hates us. So we need some kind of story to get her to talk to us, that isn't the truth.

She might just be objecting to the amount of Fey gallivating through the keep.

If not... well... how many Explosive Packs do we make per month?

Current production is up to 2,700 Explosive Packs per month, and we have 4,758 in stock.

Plenty for tactical bombing, but not so much for strategic level "scour them from the face of Planetos" anti-Fey action.

That's what the Shadow of the Doom and Erupt spells are for.

I think DP just underestimates how we're not entirely rational actors when it comes to Fey plots on the best of days.

Now we're utterly justified in our histrionic reactions with very little capable of downplaying or mitigating how fucking calamitous the Fey having their way would be in even the slightest respect?

Literally nothing threatens our ability to conquer Westeros. Even the Deep Ones only threaten the people we care about, which doesn't effect things on a macro-strategic scale much, just holding an emotional component.

So far the Fey in the Court of Stars are the only credible threat to our invasion plans that has presented itself, with the likes of high CR Clerics, eldritch abominations and ancient dragon deities trying to convince the reader they are the true threat to our plans and failing utterly.

The Lannisters don't even factor on the scale.

Nah, but it's a good amount for artillery shells with Cold Iron / Silver / Adamantine mantles.

Think we could research a cold iron version of Silverlight, then scale it up into conical floodlamps? Instant dazzle and fort save for sickened as long as they are in the AoE would be great way to make regular mortals a threat to even moderately powerful fey.

Let's see about targets we know about.
House Ball of Highcrest, they have an alliance with some sort of miner and mason fey of the Indigo, pech they are called I think, though they have not yet unearthed any of the promised riches.
This one looks good for us. Ball is a minor house and the Fey defaulting on their promises is a good opening. Doubly so since the topic here is naked bribery.

Then there is my uncle, Lord Armond Costayne of Three Towers, Garth the Green lifted a mighty curse from his lands so he was happy enough to take the aid of the Court of Stars in making sure nothing of the sort happened again. He bargained for lore to train wizards under his own banners rather than a pledge to call a full hunt of fey knights should things prove dire as I did."
Might be swayable since he seems to already desire some distance to the Fey.
"Lord Rolph Casell also agreed to having his lands warded and even bargained for a healing spring guarded by water nymphs. After what happened to Lorent one can hardly blame the man, though I do wish he would guard it less jealously. There are folk aplenty that could use healing from one ailment or another. How exactly do your Houses of Healing work, Your Grace? I tried asking Lord Tarly, but he cared more about healing in terms of keeping an army fighting fit than seeing to his subjects' good health."
This one needs investigation into the spring. @Crake, is House Casell relevant or can we off them if necessary?
"I know Lord Tytos Fossoway, Wenyld's father, spoke to the Green Court just a few weeks past after he had some trouble with fiends I think..." he trails off somewhat embarrassed. "I'm not sure how good the account I heard is because it was Ser Alfryd that gave it to me and I have recently had to reconsider what I think of the man's character.
I think Buttercup should talk with Wenyld again to get more information.
"Yes," Lord Ashford replies with a grimace. "I also heard from the fey themselves that Rikard Leygood struck a bargain with the Court of Stars, worried about those horrors in the Crownlands, the Deep Ones."
Sounds more like a power play to me, so unless an investigation turns up anything useful, I'd aim for a clean slate.

Can brute force even solve this problem?

IMO the best solution here isn't to attack the lands or the ritual, it's to go for a decapitation strike on the Fey court itself somehow.

@Azel, you think it's a good idea to bring Lord Randyl Tarly to our war council? It'd be very useful to have a knowledgeable Reach lord famed for his military ability offering his perspective, and I am pretty sure he's less than pleased about Fey influence in the Reach as well. In fact, us promising to counter it is how we got him to swear fealty in the first place.
