[X] Azel

@Azel, please specify that the Spellbane blocks Antimagic Field, Mage's Disjunction, Wall of Suppression, and Greater Dispel Magic. That's the three methods to block or suppress magic, along with the most likely version of Dispel to be used which could be successful.

Couldn't we simply counterspell?

Wenyld couldn't help herself, she giggled the promptly scowled at sounding like a child. "You realize this is cheating right, the magic?"
Remember folks it's only cheating if we're caught. Even if years from now she was to tell this story it would just make the Fey laugh. The Fair Folk don't care at all about things like fair playing field. They only care about the fact that someone had the courage to pull one over on them.

I'm pretty sure @Goldfish would have an aneurysm if we weren't under combat grade persistomancy every second of our life.
You know me too well.

Between his gear, Dany's Persistomancy, and Viserys' own personal wards which are pretty much constantly in effect nowadays, I just barely feel comfortable with him leaving Sorcerer's Deep. When you make the kind of enemies we have, there is no such thing as being too prepared.

Man, we are totally off our rocker with this. I am loving every moment as Buttercup, though.

Edit: Tempted to subscribe, if only to add "spoony bard" and "impudence wins" to the thread tags.

You know if word of this ever gets out it will be fodder for so many plays and novels. I mean seriously this is some serious A Midsummer Night's Dream stuff going on.

And now to be the rude bard we were made to be. Fossoway knight is gonna be mad but who cares? Time to make this girl a winner and hopefully gets magic of her own.

Edit: Also isn't he the uncle?

-[X] Interject yourself as if it is the most natural thing in the world, ignoring any reason to the contrary. "My lady fair, I'm afraid the joyous occasion has already been marred by most vile accusations from a man who clearly fears your prowess."
-[X] Turn to the crowd: "What say you, good people? Shall this fine young woman be forced to forfeit just because her cousin is afraid of her? Shall she have to endure such slander of her honor and virtue?"
-[X] Turn to the Fey: "Would it not be a marvelous story to see this bout to it's natural conclusion?"
-[X] Turn to Lord Ashford: "I for one look forward to singing about it, so what say you my lord?"
-[X] If this ends with the Fey trying to suppress magic, interject yourself by wishing to offer moral support for the poor maiden. Stand close to her, begin inventing a mocking song on the spot and use Spellbane (blocking Antimagic Field, Mage's Disjunction, Wall of Suppression, and Greater Dispel Magic), Distracting Taunt and cover everything with the song to ensure the girl wins.

"That is no simple boon you ask for my friend," Ser Dregaire interjected, his grave voice carrying far in the still air. "What price would you pay for it?"

"Why should I have to pay any price when I am not the one making use fo sorcery to cheat?" the knight asked coldly. "Let the onus fall on whichever one of us should lose and thereby prove their cause unjust." Turning to Wenyld with a smile that made her wish she could return this morning's slap he added. "Unless of course you would like to forfeit and return to more appropriate endeavors girl?"

I think this was my favorite part of the update. I could just see Ser Dregaire doing a quick check of how hard the magic buffs would be to break, and getting the ridiculously high spell level. The fey would probably have to go to significant trouble to break Buttercup's Buffs.

And if Ser Dregaire really is a friend to the knights here, he wouldn't want them getting into that much debt.

Edit: Also, I don't think Alfryd really gets how fey do things. That they have to balance the scales of what they give and get. They're not obligated to change a situation, and if you're the one asking them to do so, then you've got to pay up. It's kind of scary that some reach lords don't get that.

I think he actually understands this to some extent, at least as far as "the fey will get their due" goes, but he's just too hubristic to care right now. He's a manly man who isn't gonna let a little girl humiliate him.

Imagine the look on the Fey's faces if we pull this off and they later find it out was Dread Sorcerer Viserys the whole time.
