Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
I mean... Every bad tactical decision Ling Qi has ever made was chosen by vote. Maybe we'll get more information and better options but we'll still find some way to screw this up.

...Not really. The ones at the fights at the border were mostly her diving into tactically unfavourable situations and underestimating the opposition, even though our vote contributed, her lack of experience played a bigger part in her failing to complete the objectives we gave. Moreover, knowledge affects how options are presented to us by a lot.

Because more gossip is always good.

Huh, I didn't think this vote would be this one-sided. I like the idea of learning more about what is going on outside of the sect and I guess it'd be an excuse to learn more about the Bai. ...Buut, LQ does have in Meizhen someone in whom she can confide, and I do want her laying her feelings as bare as possible now~ Mostly because Ling Qi needs introspection to get out of the funk she's sinking into, and when she dedicates time to think andd ruminate on her own, she tends to exacerbate her views and not actually learn much (except in some occasions, like when her thinking led to the connections insight). In contrast, there have been many times in which, trying to put into words her feelings had her understand that she was being unreasonable, OR had an eureka moment of "...Oh! Now that I'm putting it into words, it kinda makes more sense now/ I know what to do about it!"

LQ talking about her feelings is more effective than LQ ruminating about her feelings on her lonesome, and that is especially true if she does so with someone she trusts and is not afraid of going completely honest with.

Plus, poor Meizhen has already exposed her awkwardness enough in this last update, and now it's LQ's time to give Meizhen ammo to fire against her in their playful verbal teasing wars.

Meizhen gossip > cultivation

I would like to get Meizhen's advice on Ling Qi's heart demon. Heart demons are serious business; it's okay to be a little self-centered and look to friends for help when there's a jagged edge interfering with LQ's Cultivation.

You see, like Yin and Yang or push and pull there is leading and being led. We already asked about the BIG thing we wanted to hear about from Meizhen now she can ask us about our life and we can outsource part of our "introspection" yeah? I think it was Veekie that said something like "you can ruminate and introspect and search for the answer within yourself all you want, but at a certain point you have to admit you might not have the answer within yourself and seek it outside"

Meizhen here can really help a lot with cultivation, and Alingge already laid the groundwork of "cultivating bonds and social groups is cultivation." or something like that. There's nobody like Meizhen that we're so open and vulnerable and honest with. She is the bestest of best snakes. And also friends.

Let her lead the conversation and simply outwardly reflect on our obliviousness in a way that's like "huh. You know how you always say I'm a bullheaded stubborn and oblivious girl? I been thinking about that recently. I might actually have to stop being so oblivious" lolol

Like a lot of "jokes" between friends, there's a grain of truth there and I want to actually help and fix that part of ourselves because it contributed to the hurt with Meizhen. Not only that though, I believe the obliviousness will keep hurting those close to us unless we start being more cautious and careful. Alongside the caution can come a further safety in social situations, because we're taking more care.

I mean. Typically we have like, two cultivation states? (two states really. We never stop cultivating) The first is gathering info and assets and directions. The second is sort of like "head-down power-through" where we cultivate in the direction we chose with the assets we gathered using the info we gained. I think we're in a "re-orientation" phase rn where we're trying to suss out the Heart Demon and curb it using new info (that it exists and is because of how we hurt those we care about with our actions sometimes), assets (Hearth art should help. Especially if "The Father's Hearth" becomes the Dreamscape in the art. That'd be dope as heck.) and this action right here is us getting better Directions from BestSnek Meizhen <3

Well let's dump some omake points then. I don't know how many I have but the omake page says four. So I would like four points into spiritual please. @yrsillar

We're limited to 10 points/turn into any single thing actually and @Thor's Twin generously committed 10 toward spiritual already, consider waiting for next turn before deciding then? (might resolve the heart demon this turn or get a good roll on the pill gacha).

The other option is likely to be better for tackling Ling Qi's heart demon, but we don't know that much about what Meizhen's been up to or what's been troubling her recently (outside of her relationship with Qingling). This is a shame considering Meizhen is Ling Qi's best friend, as Ling Qi herself said in this chapter. Meizhen really deserves more of the spotlight and I'm hoping we'll have an arc with her again soon. Her arcs and interactions with Ling Qi back in FoD included some of the best moments in the story so far.

Additionally, although this option might not be the best for addressing Ling Qi's problems directly, discussing Meizhen might broaden Ling Qi's perspective and help her in other ways, as learning about CRX's cultivation difficulties likely did.

Outside perspective. Also, matters outside the sect aren't irrelevant to our political maneuvering within the sect. But they're mostly irrelevant to our political maneuvering within the sect. I'd much rather hear about sect gossip.

...I'm thinking internal-ish focus time is what Ling Qi wants more then outside 'here's what the world is dealing with!'
