@everyone did we, perchance, upgrade Yss' belt to feed on sacrifices with a soulkill, like his avatar?
I remember us discussing it, but not whether we went for it.

Probably can get that on with the armor and the ring instead.
Dude, that's always been a feature.

Remember that Pleasure Devil we found in Mantarys? We fed it to Yss' belt and soul-killed it after we dissected it and harvested grafts.

It's not sentient?

How is Blackfyre not sentient while Dark Sister is? It's a bit weird that the sword of the head of House Targaryen is seemingly less magical than the traditional blade of his sister-wives.
Dark Sister is supposed to be, from @DragonParadox's interpretation, a sword of a Sorceress. The furthest back past wielder was Visenya, a known practitioner of the dark arts. Thus, more magical.

One very good reason not to have it be sentient is that it's mechanically much more powerful than Dark Sister. Sentient weapons develop an Ego score, which increases based on how powerful the weapon is. A powerful enough sentient weapon can exert influence on its wielder and sometimes outright Dominate their mind for a period of time. If you're a Dragonlord and head of one of the Forty Families, a sentient weapon that powerful could be considered a significant liability.

It's worth keeping in mind how Dark Sister became sentient, it was recovered from one of the most magical places in Westeros by the rightful heirs at the end of a long perilous journey. It was given to Viserys by a man who was loyal to the dynasty to th end (in his own unique way). By contrast Blackfyre's legacy is incomplete, Aegon never attained the Iron Throne where Daemon failed, never defeated Viserys.

Before magic died, the head of the house would have been equally sorcerous. It's pretty weird to me that sentiency here is depending on events after magic kicked the bucket rather than drawing on its much more expansive history being wielded by a head of one of the Forty Families of the Freehold.

BTW, ya'll. That armor is full of the souls of children raised by an insane cult of Tiamat worshipers, each of whom was specially groomed to best serve her ideals. I really do not want to set those little monsters loose in the afterlife for Tiamat to snatch up and Resurrect or convert into Outsiders in her service.

If that means feeding them all to Yss, then so be it.

I agree, I don't particularly want to set these souls loose.

Could we just resurrect the spirits of the children in the armor?
Yes, but it would be expensive, and:

Of course, if we want tread on the darker paths on the road of soul lore ...

Preliminary plan to get the ball rolling. If these aren't the boons ya'll want, let me know what to put in place of them.

FYI, the Staff of Ages is down to 10 of 30 charges.

[X] Yes, we will sacrifice Aegon and the Ring.
-[X] In return for the Ring of the Devouring Dragons, ask that Yss consume the remnant souls lingering within and cursing the Scale of The Black Hierophant. If there is any power left over from this sacrifice, we would like to see the armor further enhanced using whatever remains.
-[X] In return for Aegon, we ask that Yss provide some means of locating Aegon's Mind Blank'd associates and allied Dragons, and if any power remains distill all Aegon's knowledge into a form which we can easily use, such as a book similar to those created by a Scribe's Binding spell.

@DragonParadox, can we use f!Aegon's soul-death to fuel a beacon to pierce the Mind Blanks of the cultists who got way? Getting means to track the rats would solve the infestation issue for years to come, otherwise we'll inevitably see a relatively quick resurgence.

Something like that could be done, but not in and item. Yss would have to place the blessing on Viserys and is touch leaves marks proportional to the air he gives. There is a reason Azema has snake eyes.
No snake features, please.

Although I just realized we could start giving Riz'Neth, Svitran, and Vrath some Yss provided upgrades via blood sacrifice.

  1. He can try
  2. You guys actually got all the clerics, someone like Blackheart or even Illyrio would struggle to raise a cult and might not even want to
