Or just arrange the betrothal since Quentyn isn't a bad guy, and it would allow her to not completely alienate her brother. She'll have access to teleportation, if she wants to return home at least to visit, that should be more possible in a High Fantasy setting than in Low Fantasy ASOIAF where being married off meant never seeing it again.
I mean, the Orange Emperor is totally going to die when the Azure Emperor rolls in, what with his un-assuming competence and his actually being grateful when people help him. So she might as well remove the bandaid now.

Numbering your post for easier replying:
1. Please. Our Plant-minions are generally humanoid-ish, look decent (most Leshies are downright cute), have social skills and healing abilities, and are tied to the Old Gods, a largely harmless faith widespread across a huge swathe of the Seven Kingdoms.
2. That's very different from asking our vassals to keep a "well-equipped zombie" around.
3. Furthermore, most people have already heard horrible stories about undead and start with negative preconceptions regarding them. That's part of why I just assumed we'd be doing what Roose and Qyburn usually do, and not telling people exactly what sort of magical bodyguard lies beneath that full plate. Clearly this was a wrong assumption. Do we plan on going around and personally 4. 4. Diplomancing the people who are less likely to outright accept ourselves, or will an underling handle the undead deliveries and associated talks?
5. I expect some of the more pragmatic of knowledgeable people will have no issues (Pondmaster! Alinor!) but don't think everyone will be hyped by this situation.
Well, Monford may accept Black Knights (he accepted the Erinye, so clearly he trusts our word quite far) but I fear that others on our list may not be so happy to have to choose between saying no to the King and having an undead in their home following them around as a bodyguard.

6. EDIT: Regarding my "fixed opinions" : sue me for not memorising every detail of your homebrewed Template that wasn't linked in the post. And assuming that we would handle the Black Knight introductions the way they have previously been done on-screen (in your own omakes, no less) was indeed an assumption, but wasn't exactly a crazy one.
1. May I remind you about the rumor that there are murderous trees in SD that hunt the innocent for their sweet blood? A Leshy is fitting that rumor rather well. Your personal opinion of their appearance is irrelevant in that regard, as you are clearly already used to the idea of plant people. I'd wager you would be rather horrified in real life if a walking talking lettuce was introduced to you as your new room mate. Especially if you are told that it can kill a grown man with a touch.

Your fondness of them is blinding you to the strangeness and threatening otherness of Leshies.

2. It is not. Both rely on the person trusting Viserys vouching for the creature. That is all.

3. You are aware that Roose is operating under vastly different circumstances, namely risking censure from the Starks on the assumption of grave robbing and evil magic if it gets widely known that he uses undead? Viserys has no liege he is accountable to and every bad thing you can say about someone is being said about him anyway. A lot of it, like the mass blood sacrifice or the employing of Devils, also happens to be very true. Also, you are equating hiding them from the general public to lying about their nature to the recipient. This is a misleading claim.

4. I personally don't care much. If you read the list of egoo, you will find that it's extremely unlikely anyone on that list might balk at the idea. They are all rather pragmatic people or already deeply and solidly diplomanced.

5. Who do you expect to be a problem then and why? You are so busy railing against the mere idea that you completely failed to articulate any detailed worries or objections.

6. The template is placed in the info post on undead, which I can expect you to have read at some point before making claims about the nature of the undead we produce. It is even an requirement to know what a "Black Champion" even is. Also, you are pulling an argument from nowhere when you claim I had introduced them dishonestly at some point. The only person ever receiving Undead minions from Viserys is Rodrik the Reader, who got full disclosure on their nature and abilities before agreeing to their deployment. I've said my piece about Roose Bolton needing to keep secrets earlier.

@Crake, didn't we agree that arranged marriages for children was bad and that Viserys personally disliked it, especially for his relatives?
I remember that coming up while negotiating with Syrax.

Furthermore, marrying her puts us in a weird position. She isn't that high level personally, and her usefulness to Quentyn seems to come from her connection to an Imperial Court the thread seems rather dead-set against eventually allying with for some reason.

I was referring to the Qyburn/Roose chapters, in which they kept them hidden. IIRC we haven't seen them given around, except to the Ironborn where "they're undead" was actually a selling point.

Regarding the rest... I'll drop this. I'm clearly wrong and biased. As for the Template, all that I remembered was "less negative energy leak, more armour". It'd been so long since their stats came up that I'd forgotten we even had an undead threadmark. Sorry, this is my bad @Azel.

I'm against allying this particular court because I'm certain they'll lose, and also because I don't like them. If we ally to them, specially through some marriage, we might have to bail them out when they do lose, which diminishes our standing with the winner.

Or, just vote for me, and we can wash our hands of these two and try to salvage the only somewhat decent person we've encountered throughout this arc, since apparently everyone has some kind of scheme to undercut everybody else, or betray them utterly.
Just cut to the chase and claim the Mandate of Heaven for Viserys. We all know it's inevitable.

It's true that narratively, they're fucked. They're up against a plucky, brave young man!
:D

Viserys would probably refuse to justify his rule on the basis of divine approval.

Puppet the emperor, or revolutionize Yi-tish society...

While I agree that undead monsters are inherently creepier than plants monsters, I do not feel that will be a big enough difference for it to matter to most of our people.

Not necessarily. We don't actively angle ourselves in that direction, but we certainly don't stop people from thinking it when it's convenient to us. This is exactly the same as what we're doing with the R'hllorists claiming we're Azor Ahai reborn.

Sorry, this is my bad @Azel.
It's alright. I hope I did not offend you too badly when pushing back.

I'm personally of the opinion that "None above the Emperor. Not even the gods." is the name of the game, but for the sake of being an offensive ass to these people, you could always claim it, then tell the Kami to stick it where the sun doesn't shine.

I'm still of the opinion that the Mandate of Heaven from way way back in the Great Empire of the Dawn will be rightfully ours once we finally kill the Bloodstone Emperor. Once that happens the lands east of the Bone Mountain will bend the knee.

then tell the Kami to stick it where the sun doesn't shine.
I'm still rather miffed about that one asshole that rebutted us when we wanted but to warn the Orange Man about the Chinese Tiamat's ploy.

@everyone, any ideas on how to find and deal with that very Kami that won't be petty IC, or severely "Wisp-like" in it's out-of-nowhereness?

Prank call him with Sendings semi-regularly.

On the one hand, I give negative fucks about Yi Ti, especially as we currently lack the reach to hold it. On the other hand, I'm really tempted to do the usual and play all of these people against each other until there is only an empty throne surrounded by a few piles of dust, waiting for Viserys to have a seat.

Given how utterly disjointed the region is (along with the conspiracies within the court of the Azure Emperor, going all the way up to his supposedly most trusted general) that region is probably going to fall to anarchy very soon. I've got my eye on the Sorcerer Lord of Carcosa as the man who will stand dominant until we show up.

Hence the fact that my current plan doesn't actually support it?

I'm playing devil's advocate here. I don't approve of political marriages unless both subject to them are the ones directly benefiting and arranging them.

[x]Crake

Honestly the more I see of Orange and associates the more convinced I am that they are not worth our time, even for the purposes of playing him against the other would be emperors in the name of eventually claiming the throne for ourselves. So I am totally down with politely extricating ourselves from this mess and trying to salvage Pol Ning from this dumpster fire.

As far as my perception of events goes, I am not a fan of Orange Justice. There's a few things coloring my perceptions, but it basically boils down to:

1) The fact that Emperor OJ seems rather ungrateful, which is honestly the most minor sticking point, ironically, since it's not like we did it for him, it just causes me to reflect on all of the other people who had their problems entirely solved without having to do anything by us who were also generally ingrates or idiots about it.
2) The guy rose in rebellion against a dynasty in typical Northwest Yi Ti fashion and claims a throne he is like a thousand miles away from when the person who rules there is generally not only an acceptable ruler but descended from a line who has ruled it and not completely pissed away all of the strong foundations underlying it. Sure there's rot, but everywhere there was rot. It's really nothing compared to the dumpster fire Western Essos turned into, and Westeros was literally and repeatedly on fire as well.
3) I like Mah Boi and want to see him succeed, like a proud parent watching from the sidelines of a little league game.
4) He's got a perfectly loyal sister who was disgusted at the very idea of a man accepting bribery, let alone regular political quid pro quo, and seems genuinely to just want her rights as his heir recognized by him. He's pretty much prepared to discard her to shore up internal support, like with his pet court mage who is nervous about Ning gaining the Emperor's favor in any way shape or form that she's pretty much poisoned him against her. You don't diss the brother-sister relationship near me, man. I love my sister! I also love Dany!
5) He's positioned in "Dick-All" geographically. I don't see him succeeding any more than I seriously expect Mah Boi to succeed on his own against BE if he becomes their first target. Luckily, while I don't care to interfere with either of Orange, Azure or Yellow's bid for the throne, I do like dicking over BE. I guess that's lucky for Yellow and Orange, too.
6) I think he's got a stupid looking face.

*mic drop*

Okay, not really on that last one.

Here's a thought.

Orange's court is fucked up, perhaps too much so as to be worth the headache of dealing with.

Why not back Azure in conquering Orange, thus ensuring the next undisputed Emperor of Yi Ti is further in our debt?

Bu Gai doesn't currently have the ability to project control over the NW provinces anymore than we do, or, as @Azel stated, we'd just declare ourselves Son of Heaven right here and now.

No, but the two of us together?

Magic covereth a multitude of sins, and we can probably gate over a Legion and supplies to help.

Just cast Teleportation Circle, Permanency, then march the legion into the circle a squad at a time, supplies and all.

Bingo Bango, you can now project power. The best part is that after its all done, the circle can work as a trade route.
