We got given TRF, a wood art explicitly for the sake of being compatible with Zhengui. This new art is looking to be a replacement for TRF.I'm honestly not that big a fan of having Fire-themed art around for the sake of being compatible with Zhengui.
I am swayed.
Went for Hearth instead of particular elements because we seem to get neater arts when we focus on their themes more than trying to cram a specific element into the table.
Guys, please. My point was the hearth art wasn't cultivated because it had nothing to do with Zhengui. Zhengui is not a hearth. That has nothing to do with his themes. It doesn't even make sense; at best it's elementally expedient, but that doesn't do anything for us of significance. If we just wanted elements that go fast, we'd dip into our darkness/etc stuff. Merely having elemental commonality with Zhengui isn't enough, we should be looking for something that actually engages with his unique themes, even if the elements are totally different. A hearth ain't that.Sleeping on it I think my first choice hearth was the best choice, it will be dealing with bonds instead and with growth and renewal be focused on rekindling old bonds and growing new/existing bonds to be stronger.
It would be Focusing more on our domain and what family would mean to us and use our bonds to protect us which our domain already does.
If he was a regular sea turtle Wuan Wu the moon would fit more thematically, but he ain't he's a fire turtle variant that fits more with sun/fire/warmth and we have to account for that, it'd be like saying to tack on sun for us because he wants to be closer to us.
Going back to my earlier comment he IS our hearth, he painfully wants to help us in any way he can feasibly so if we go hearth which fits in Domain wise it would also in a way use his bond for us to help protect against enemies more which we've had a heart demon to show for our efforts going alone.

Only in that TRF is a resist art, and our current archive dive is for a resist art.
I AM AWARE. That's why I don't mind a Wood-themed art winning or even Renewal. That's the line I'm drawing. I'm not going beyond that. Most especially not for a Fire artWe got given TRF, a wood art explicitly for the sake of being compatible with Zhengui. This new art is looking to be a replacement for TRF.
SES is a resist art, and what we're currently directly replacing. TRF is going to be replaced by SNR over the next few turns.Only in that TRF is a resist art, and our current archive dive is for a resist art.
Let the record show that I was at least trying to accomplish this with my Tides proposal, even if I have a slightly different sense of Zhengui's themes than you do.Guys, please. The idea is to find an art that fosters their partnership by being something he's actually well suited to providing insights on/for, but that also isn't totally foreign to Ling Qi. The floated Cold/Wood(Winter/Spring) ideas work here because it's engaging in elemental dichotomy, like he does, it draws from Ling Qi's own unique flavor with the Cold stuff, but it adds to that flavor by expanding it in a new Zhengui-friendly direction and in ways that perfectly fit with her existing insights- her insights relating to her Cold art, even!
