Bleh water and moon no room for Zhengui he don't like em
Nah I'm all in for maximum bonding time
I'd have loved to fit in a fire art but that would be greedy

Mmm aright then
[Growth]
[Renewal]
[Hearth]

For comin in on a long day to your family and gettin back at it with a spring to your step
I really liked IMH perhaps we can use something similar?
Plus he is like our own hearth/forge so it is pretty neat theme wise

How about resists not work like a block;
e.g. mechanically we suppress our effect, the longer it is suppressed the stronger it returns.
Or an aoe effects turns them into a short range personal effect while a personal effect turns it into an aoe effect.
Or our effect scatters into pieces, but the pieces can be used for restarting as metamorphosed effect. ie. kind of trying to find and create the "right tune"/"countersong" for our fight on the fly.

[X] Renewal

I think I'm going to give up on trying to match/countermatch Elements with Zhengui, instead going in on renewal/growth with the mutability/adaptability of the moon and a dash of "you can't kill an idea"/"slay me and I shall return stronger".

I'd want Ling qi to at least have a little bit of fire, so its not just Gui we have on tap (yes, I know they're the same, but still!) so Zhen should have some themed to him too.

Can "moon fire" be a 'purifying light of the moon' thing?

If it would be Fire at all, I'd have it be Yin Fire. Otherwise it completely clashes with Ling Qi thematically.

I'm not sure how well it could be worked into the current need for a resist/dispel art, but if we wanted to work some fire into our build maybe we could look for something that uses the idea of will-o-the-wisps. Thematically the idea of illusory, cold fires that lure travellers into danger seems like it could mesh well with Ling Qi.

Well, see, I think Moon has a pretty good 'purify' or at the least 'renewal' theme going

And Yin Fire seems to also have some 'renewal bit going
When they get extinguished, they have the ability to re-ignite.

They are very gentle people, soft spoken and elegant. Usually they are not very loud. Most Yin Fires are refined and polite but once you get to know them you will realize they can also be rather lively and enjoy partying.
taken from google 1st result of "yin fire" which is apparently a descriptor of a person with yin fire characteristics.

Closest I can think of is Ghost/Soul Fire
It's why I picked hearth, little ghost comes home from the cold and rests by little flame which happens to be a giant ass turtle/snek

I can see the moon having a very nice cyclical theme but I don't remember anything in this quest to suggest that the moon has a purify theme.
Eh its meant for the stellar Qi
If that came without being purified by the moon a whole lotta crazy nasty things start popping up
But yea asides from the tides which is reaching for Zhenguis theme as is purifying moon doesn't make the cut
