[X] Plan "She comes...so let's get ready to roll out the welcome mat!" -[X] In the temple: --[X] Viserys targets Aegon with a Quickened Stun Ray using Wild Arcana. Depending on how successful his spell is, and how Aegon responds, Viserys will decide how to proceed, either blocking a returned spell using Wings of Cover, targeting Aegon with a Stilled Avasculate spell, or attacking the Clerics performing the Command Dragons ritual with Shadow of the Doom if his help isn't needed elsewhere. --[X] Dany targets Aegon with a Dimensional Anchor spell after Lya targets him with Chain Dispel. She uses Divine Defiance to Counterspell the next spell used by our enemies as an Immediate Action. She uses her Battlemagic Perception buff to Counterspell the next enemy spell as a Free Action. --[X] Lya uses Wild Arcana to cast a Chain Dispel spell at 23rd caster level, targeting Aegon and anything nearby with an obvious magical aura, as well as Connington and Ashara if they are within range. She uses her Ring of Spell-Battle to Counterspell any enemy spells which slip past Dany. --[X] Teana targets Ashara with a Solid Shadows modified Baleful Shadow Transformation (DC 32 Fortitude save). The spell will be effectively rendered completely real (60% base realism + 20% via Solid Shadows + 20% via 3 charges from her Ring of Mystic Shadows) even against effects such as True Seeing, removing the ability to disbelieve via a successful Will saving throw. She uses her Ring of Spell-Battle to Counterspell any enemy spells which slip past Lya. Her Shadow-Trace duplicate launches a Fungal Stun Vial at the Clerics maintaining the ritual controlling our Fiery Dragonbeasts. --[X] The Mind Dragon moves to engage Connington in melee combat and the Seeker continues to attack him. --[X] Richard and Sandor continue to attack Ashara. Richard should have activated his armor's Holy Aura power prior to entering the temple. -[X] Outside the temple: --[X] Our forces continue as previously directed, but Team Yss takes the field to help bring things under control and to delay the Avatar of Tiamat if necessary.
Melisandre had sent word that she cannot leave the Golden Wind even for the span of one battle. Her control of the captured efreeti would falter across the barriers of worlds, leaving Yrten and Siduri surrounded by foes.
Does this mean that casting Maze on that Dragonbeast automatically broke the Rebuke effect? Or will it resume instantly once it returns to the same Plane as the caster?
@TalonofAnathrax A beam of morning sunlight hit my screen in just the right way, making it appear as if your avatar was emitting a beautiful beam of light over the horizon.
It was quite a special moment for me. *sips coffee*
This is a good spell for Zherys, under the context that healing for him is really tough in a combat situation, but it's a bad spell from a healing perspective once you're at the higher levels. Most of the big name ones clear away ailments and debuffs while also healing more HP. Though the fact that he has something which can fill the gap at all is amazing.

Looking over the shoulder of the bleeding but still unshaken knight you strike at his lord. Lightning flickers from your fingers meant not to burn as Waymar's power often does, but for a more delicate task. Aegon's muscles spasm painfully though his expression is a mask of cold determination. An ember ring upon his left hand flares with familiar magic and the power stills. "Do you think we are the Usurper's sheep, blind to the new age that has come upon us...?"
You will never know if he had meant to make his question more elaborate or spit out some other spell to strike you and your companions down for Dany too has something to say. "Catch!" The word spoken in her clear young voice, the sort of thing one might hear said in some harmless children's game. What flies is no toy or trinket, but Feeder on a many-colored wind heavy with stolen power. Somehow he does not look ungainly or absurd in the air and it is not the least hard to remember that he had been stolen from the hoard of Tiamat herself.
Only the former Lord of Griffin's Roost is safely out of the arc of the spell. Ashara sways, her fingers going slack upon the hilt of her blade for an instant, then she too shakes off the affliction, but Aegon had already used the moment of spell-bound clarity before, he stumbles back just as Lya's magic washes over all three of them, a river of sorcery fit to wash away even the blessings of Tiamat worked in her place of power. Strange bruises bloom upon the faces of your foes, the magic seeking to break their bodies apart from within.
Alas that you do not have long to ponder it. Connington is still on you and this time he is after more than blood. Spellsteel cuts flesh and thought, it sunders mind from senses and in the terrible precision of that blow you hear Tiamat laughing.
You take 35 Damage All targets gain Total Concealment against you
All spells with a Somatic or Verbal component have a 50% Miss chance
In response the Seeker deals one more of its crippling strikes, but no second blow comes. A silvery dart flies across the room and lodges itself in the construct's uppermost left arm. A dry hissing voice echoes from the shadows as the Seeker collapses twitching. Even through the roaring in your ears you can hear enough to recognize the newcomer. "Ah... I had hoped... poison would... Valyrian constructs. It is based... own secretions. The things I can learn... dissection."
Seeker Paralyzed
It seems the Golden Company's flesh-smith had come to aid his lord in his hour of need.
You see through sundered senses as Ashara continues her duel with Ser Richard, Oathkeeper cutting into her upper arm though not before she manages to leap over the floating shield to deliver an overhanded blow to the knight's shoulder. The blade flashes crimson for the merest moment and even as you struggle to see through the curse Connington dealt you the enchantment is unmistakable as it is deadly, the life-reaper.
Ser Richard takes 39 Damage
From the urgent tone of Teana's spellcasting you suspect she too had noticed, the shadows twist and writhe and for a moment by arcane skill and enchantment both they seem somehow more real than the world of flesh and blood. Some distant corner of your mind not occupied with the battle notes with wry amusement that she had chosen to weave Ashara's shadow into that of a turtle.
You cannot say if it had been Asahra's fall or Aegon's shout of denial that drew Connington's eye, but he turns just in time to receives a sword blow to the face from Clegane who had stepped over Ashara's body. He has just as little luck when the mind dragon pumps arcane poison into his veins.
The golden light of healing begins to envelop the old knight, but Dany knows well the feel of that particular magic and with a single word banishes it before it can mend flesh or cure poison. He falls to one knee before you in a grotesque parody of fealty even as he spits in defiance.
Unnatural silence falls, the priests are not chanting anymore.
The shadow of great wings passes overhead almost without sound, then five roars shake the earth and you know with the certainty of your own blood and bone even under the power of Connington's curse what you will see when you look up. Five draconic heads upon necks like a tangle of serpents: red, blue, black, green and white, ten eyes looking upon you with an eternity of hatred. No... not upon you, though She would kill you in an instant if she could, but Dany.
Your sister may garbed in a dreamspun semblance of heaven, but the composure she addresses the dark goddess who once owned her soul is all her own: "Come back to die again? Shall I count this the second time after Essaria, or by my blood recall the triumph of Syrax and her kin and call it the third time?"
What do you do?
[] Let Team Yss engage the avatar while you deal with Aegon, Connington and the flesh-smith
[] Summon the Worm against Tiamat's avatar
[] Do battle against both
[] Write in
OOC: Aegon is dazed from Dany's spell, Ashara is incapacitated of course and Connington is at 0 HP and staggered thanks to one of his last ditch magic items, he would otherwise be unconscious and bleeding out.
While 'Aegon's tent' burns the mages tents fall under killing frost, traning warmth and life from all beneath them. Only one stays up the necromancer's, likely empty.
"mages" needs an apostrophe to indicate the possessive (AFAIK it ought to be " mages' "), and the second bolded part seems like a punctuation error. Maybe add a hyphen or something?
The shadows all around them came alive with tooth, claw and lashing tail and for one terrible moment among the pain and confusion it seemed as though there were not three dragons but a dozen, all taunting them with hissing whispers, until the devil, Reilith that was her name, Bloom recalled, spoke without voice again. "Warding glamours, look through..."
And in the latest update, you have "tryumph" instead of "triumph".
By the way, when our dispel and Lya's tentacles were torn away with rings of spell-battle, where did they go? Which of our people were targeted?
Brainstorming bad things:
All those Drakes who are Teleporting out? They're probably Teleporting to some warded fallback position which is resistant to most Divination and where they can find healing. Sure they might be scattering and leaving themselves open to being hunted down later, but the GC is disciplined and prepared: I fear we may face a counterattack from healed-up Drakes in a few minutes. It could even happen right as the Avatar appears!
This strategy depends on them having access to several Teleports. If they don't, we're fine (even if they regroup we can probably find and kill them later, if they don't return as part of a strong counterattack).
As soon as we disrupt the ritual, the Clerics of Tiamat could immediately Command Dragons. They may not get us (we have a fair few HD), but they almost certainly will get control of Varys, and will likely try to make her die immediately because it would weaken us. Or they might give her to Tiamat somehow, to use against us. Therefore I support making sure that no Cleric of Tiamat has a free action (or survival) to try that.
Nuri is with a group of Emerald Magistrates, fighting Oni and GC agents. We know little about their skills, or about the opposition. If they lose, we may find ourselves needing to fetch their bodies and/or more gems to raise Outsiders.
Could someone capture Nuri and use her against Lya in a ritual?
There's not much we can do about this, honestly. Still, the asura we sent was crazy strong and so we'll probably win.
Flesh-smith releasing creatures of some sort. We'd better hope our own minions can handle that, because we're busy.
Well, time to call upon the Worm and dogpile the F!Aegon with all we have in the meanwhile.
Of course, we'd have to survive the 2+ rounds it may take the Worm to drop on Timmie.
Yes, I'd like to get F!Aegon regardless, in case Timmie decides to suicide-bomb the Avatar but not let us win.
Or to use F!Aegon as her own "break out of jail free, but lose the pawn"-card.
Her Greed Domain is all about that shit.
*paranoids out*
[X] Goldfish
Side note, we want Dany alive for when we put the Well of Eternity on anyone.
Her foci will help our deities in fighting Timmie's [Dragon] Domain.
And we may just want to drop all our Miraclea/Bloodwishes/Mythic Power uses into halping our Gods with raw power, given we have any raw power left by then.
We have Blindsense and not Blindsight, right. So we can still know what's going on, and can target people, but they'll all have a 50% miss chance.
Can we use single-target spells that don't have attack rolls, or would those require Blindsight?
Yeah I think it's time we bring out the heavy hitters. Like all the heavy hitters.
Yss, the Worm, everyone we can spare.
Hell if we could get Moonchaser to do a strafing run or two on top of everything else that'd be grand.
This ain't going to be another Mammon fight. Granny knows all too well just how much of a bastard we can be and how hard we're willing to go to hurt her.
If we don't bring our A-game we're not getting out of this one alive.
That's fair, the Avatar is probably at least the 23 CR the dragon the Worm was made against.
Still, it is our main weapon against her, and our best bet to survive her, if at least by slowing her down enough to barrage at her.
Inb4 Timmie rezzing all the Dragons we killed, summoning some Outsiders, and breathing lots of no-save breathweapons. Simultaneously.
It's nice to see enemies with good equipment though. And who knows, perhaps they have Death Pact active and will return instantly if slain!
Actually that seems damn likely (they can cast it, AFAIK). So being at zero HP may not be such a problem for Connington.
Sorry @Duesal, I predict he'll heal.
EDIT: Oh, and that Flesh-smith has shitty timing. I don't want to recruit someone like that, who lets his allies get hammered for a round before acting. Where was it hiding, anyway? Did it teleport in, or was it somehow hidden in plain sight all along?
