Took a bit of digging but I found it.

This tiny creature is about the size of a man's fist. It is pallid white, often with irregular light brown blotches on its body. A mouth like a lamprey's gnashes curved teeth at one end of this slimy abomination. The Spiderfish normally feeds on normal and dire rats, and small fishes, but it attacks anything that comes within range.

@Azel
Where did it get the intelligence from?
His base creatures have 0 and 1.

He could be a Savant Creature I guess.
It would explain his talent for battle-plans.

Edit: My mistake, I just noticed that INT is rolled up newly for the template.

Okay, is it me, or have we slowed down quite significantly lately?
Yeah, alright, DP's internet is as troubled as it's been about... 3 years ago, I think?
But we aren't discussing enough stuff either to move the thread.

So, ye, have a load of this y'all:
TargetSourceAdditional notes
13 Salikotals, 9 Ink Devils (Unaffiliated), 9 Accomplice Devils, 2 Dogai (Servants of Asmodeus).2 Uniilas (booked), 1 Cornugon, 5 Ice Devils, 28 Erinyes (all serving Asmodeus).
3 Lead Devil, 2 Harvester Devils (Servants of Mammon).3 Desert Devils, 4 Sand devils, 6 Zerub, 7 Bearded devils, 3 Imps (all serving Mammon).
3 Anygavhaul, 3 Phistophilus (Servants of Asmodeus and Mephistopheles respectively).Advodaza (eaten by Yss - known True Names passed over to Urak the Forgemaster).
5-10 Lillends to serve as Bard teachers for Scholarum.Indiscriminate summoning.Worst case, we pull them from Hellven, or something.
A dozen of Lejnths as support for Inquisition and Legions.Indiscriminate summoning - ask our Erynies if they know any Lejnths reliable and likely to take an oath in our service beforehand, though. This summoning is essentially fishing for mercenaries, and they will be appropriately checked (brain spider, divination, etc.) when being offered the position.
That's our current list of summoning for this month.

What else would ya'll like to add to the list, at least preliminarily?

If it has less than 20HD*, isn't a [Native] Outsider, and isn't unique - we probably can call it up.
Use this list for reference: Pathfinder Outsiders

I'm somewhat inclined to call up a Demivagga for example. The
Indomitable Oration (Su)
A deimavigga's speech is always perfectly clear and cannot be silenced or warped. In areas of incredible noise, through water or airless voids, even in areas of magical silence, these devil's voices can still be heard normally. All beings understand deimaviggas, as if these devils constantly spoke in all tongues at once.
is very much worth cutting out as a graft, imo.

*The usual limit is 18HD per creature, but we can bullshit that with some of the angelic feathers we ordered for this month.

Part MMMCCCXXX: The Long Breath
The Long Breath

Thirteenth Day of the Twelfth Month 293 AC

The sixth hour of the day dawns cold and bright over the plains of Jogos Nhai as you look onto the camp below. It is not as it was. Perhaps if you had not spent the last several days observing the rhythms of the camp, the comings and goings of soldiers and officers, you might have missed the subtle signs. Perhaps if you had not been looking for weakness, you would not have seen it. Several more of the priests are absent, some gone to secure the shadow fortress, others vanished into the depths of the rough-hewn temple of Tiamat festooned with the offerings of the greedy, the faithful, and the fearful. It and it alone among the forest of tents is carved of stone, meant to endure even once all the rest had been blown away in the wind. It will not endure much longer

"They're calling something," Dany says grimly as she looks towards the temple. "From the Dreamlands, maybe. They know the townhouse in Trader Town was attacked, and even if they bought the presence of Emerald Magistrates they have to wonder if Bu Gai might not strike twice. Considering the letter he sent out about Tiamat when we told him about it, I do not think it would be outside the bonds of possibility that he might allow an unofficial truce with Pol Qo in order to deal with Her influence..."

"That would be impetuous to do," you muse, though it is not really a denial.

"Its the sort of thing a young king new to his throne and wanting to show strength might try," Ser Richard says still, his gaze sweeping over the camp. He catches the movement before you do. "Look there, that'll be the sacrifices they are bringing in." The camp followers of the Company call it the Black Wagon for the drapes of enchanted black silk at its windows, sighing and rippling as though alive. It's built more like a carriage really, though given the fact that no one alive has ever been seen leaving it the name does not seem wholly unfitting.

"I don't think they are calling for help, not yet," Lya interjects, tearing her eyes away from the scene. "Think about what we would do in their place, waste precious resources on summoning a temporary advantage that might be lost if it's mistimed, or try to find out more of what is actually happening so we can plan better?"

"They want to divine through the mind wards." It makes sense, it makes too much sense. True your enemies could be acting foolishly, they could be acting mad even—they are servants of Tiamat after all—but you do not think so.

You look up to see the sunlight shatter in painful prisms of light against the wings of the Prismatic Drakes. They could have simply been summoned for protection of course, or they might be here to draw the eye of their maker most keenly, to call upon her for a deed even She would not lightly undertake.

From the other side of the camp, though still flying above the sea of tents, you hear Malarys's voice in your mind. "Having seen them mounted I think I have discovered why the mages so dote on their war-beasts. They are bonded to them through blood magic, borrowing their vitality. It might afford them other protections, too."

"A pity there aren't anymore Elephants left in Volantis, they would have appreciated that bit of magic,"
you reply in jest, though part of you wishes you could study this bond.

A ripple of sardonic amusement passes through the thread of magic followed by Amrelath's voice crackling like fire. "I wonder what they taste like. It's been a while since I have eaten anything interesting." Given his standards for worthy meals you are not sure you want to find out just what he considers the last one to have been—perhaps the spirit of cold and famine in the Fathest North.

"I'm ready to start calling wind spirits now." Vee's voice is as calm and focused as it ever is on the eve of battle, though there is an edge of frustration under it at having failed to catch the flesh-shaper in Trader Town. He could have chosen to not return to the camp in the wake of the loss of his fellows, which would allow him to take his skills and his utter disregard to the life shaped under his hands elsewhere. "Once I start we won't have long before the attack. Argo, you there?"

  • Vee (level 16): Barkskin, Mass Sanctuary (full team), Shield of Warding, Stone Body, True Seeing, Tyche's Touch,
    • She will use at least two 8th level spell slots (Summoning 1d4+2 Greater Orglash Air Elementals per spell), three 7th level spell slots (Summoning 1d4+2 Large Orglash Air Elementals per spell), four 6th level spell slots (Summoning 1d4+2 Large Orglash Air Elementals per spell), and four 5th level spell slots to cast Summon Nature's Ally spells (Summoning 1d3+1 Large Orglash Air Elementals per spell). Every Elemental will be instructed to spread out and use their Cone of Cold SLAs to the maximum effect (targeting large gatherings of soldiers and mages, but prioritizing Golden Company Drakes and Dragons which come within range), and they will each be given a bandoleer with three vials of Liquid Ice to use as a Power Component (adds +1 Cold damage per damage dice of the Cold SLA). She will activate her Bead of Karma before she begins, raising her caster level to 19th, which will be further enchanted by Xor maintain a Harmonic Chorus spell on her all through her casting, for a total caster level of 21. This will allow each enhanced Elemental to persist for up to 42 rounds (252 seconds).
  • Xor (level 15): Battlemagic Perception, Barkskin, False Life, Heart of Earth, Inner Beauty, Mage Armor, Mirror Image, Scintillating Scales, Shield, Tyche's Touch,
  • Mereth (Erinyes Racial HD 9/Steel Fury 2): Barkskin, Tyche's Touch
  • Yrael (Cleric Creature/Cleric 3 + ??? Legion Archon, outdated character sheet): Barkskin, Tyche's Touch,
  • Mercy (Elemental Air-Positive Energy Arcanum)
  • Maester Qyburn (Archivist 13): Barkskin, Tyche's Touch
  • 20x Firefly (with x5 Explosive Pack payloads; explodes to inflict 10d6 damage in a 20ft radius) (CR 3)
  • 2x Heralds (CR 10)
  • 4x Glass Golems (CR 8)
  • ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT: Brilliant Barrier Charm (x2), Greater Black Tentacles (x2 scrolls), Heal (x2 scrolls), Panacea (x20 scrolls), Plane Shift Charm (x2), Sending Stone (x2), Teleport Charm (x2)

The Minotaur is startled for a moment, unsure how to reply by the use of mind magic. "We'll hold the line don't you worry, only trouble is we ain't got shit to guard against the hurts-your-eyes dragons."

You almost dismiss the message as 'all is in order'. Minotaurs do have a slight aversion to bright light, and the shifting lurid colors of the Prismatic Drakes are certainly not something you would want to be staring into. Then you take a closer look at the patterns they are flying. It's too precise, too geometrical, and certainly not the best patrol route. "Dany, are you seeing what I'm seeing?" you motion to some of the lines in the air.

Her eyes go wider, "It's not a spell yet, but they are definitely doing something."

"We want them to call an Avatar though, don't we?" Lya asks. "That is what we have bargained with for the powers for the Well of Eternity."

Ser Richard clears his throat in what no one could mistake for a retching cough and certainly not for approval, but he does not speak aloud.

  • Argo the Cunning (Fighter 5/Occult Slayer 1)
  • 69x Minotaurs (Fighter 3)
  • 16x Minotaurs (Fighter 4)
  • 5x Minotaurs (Fighter 5)
  • SPELL BUFFS: Too numerous to include in the high caster level buffing scheme used for our other assets, Team Minotaur will instead be buffed by Mercy using her own spells (8th) caster level, in addition to spell scrolls to provide the following effects at lower caster level: Bless, Blessed Aim, Elation, Magic Army (20th caster level; everyone weapon used by our people will have at least a +4 Enhancement), Mass Aid, Mass Conviction, Mass Resist Energy (All), Mass Shield of Faith, Mass Entropic Shield, Moment of Greatness
  • ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT: One Valyrian Steel Banner (w/Protection from Evil effect), Fairy Cap: Enlarge Type (273; three per Minotaur), Fungal Stun Vials (182; two per Minotaur), Plane Shift Charm (x8), Sending Stone (x1). All of the Minotaurs will will also be given their own Horseshoes of Speed and Healing Belt.

"Yes, but we really do not want to fight the thing together with everything else," you reply, reaching out to the Harbinger. The touch of its mechanistic mind of Dragonsteel and spell-forged gears is odd, but it confirms that it is ready to deal with 'significant threats' as they emerge.

  • 1x Harbinger (CR 17)
  • 1x Awakened Adamantine Golem (CR 19)
  • 1x Hadhayosh (CR 20): Energy Immunity (Cold)
  • 2x Fiery Dragonbeasts (CR 15)
  • 2x Black Brute (CR 14)
  • 1x Necro-Kraken (CR 15) stored in a Portable Hole for emergencies or as a surprise reserve unit
  • ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT: Plane Shift Charm (x1), Sending Stone (x2), Teleport Charm (x1)

Other gods are not without their champions on their field of battle today. Nirah, Voice of the Timeless One, is ready to deal the Great Serpent's justice upon those priests of Tiamat who might be outside the protection of the temple.

The next to reach out is the Orphne Fey Lord. "We are prepared to infiltrate once the battle begins, though I must warn you that our capacity for stealth and deception is... uneven." You can practically hear the disdain drip from his words. He had wanted to infiltrate the camp beforehand and attack from within, but you had judged the attempt too risky. All it would have taken was one watcher with a gaze as sharp as an Erinyes and the whole plan would have come unraveled with your forces out of position.

"There will be more than enough chaos for you to exploit," you reply in a carefully neutral tone.

The other winged intervention squad is far more enthusiastic about its task. At least those of them that can feel any emotions at all, the drakes and devils. The undead upon tattered wings feel nothing, but their enemies will feel their claws just the same. Hopefully Qyburn's creations will be able to shield others from the enemy also.

  • 2x Advanced Erynies (CR 9) each
  • 2x Advanced Plant-Imbued Sea Drake (CR 10)
  • 4x Black Knight (w/mobility upgrade for flight) each
  • 20x Necro-Harpy (CR 5) each
  • 5x Firefly (with x5 Explosive Pack payloads; explodes to inflict 10d6 damage in a 20ft radius) (CR 3) each
  • 10x Spitter Swarm (CR 3) each
  • 30x Spitter (CR 1) each

Last but not least are the Wyverns and the Moonchaser, ready to translate in from the Plane of Water and begin the attack with an all consuming storm of steel and flame. Moonsong can hardly wait to test her new ship in battle, though all the veteran pilots of the battles in the Endless Sky are more measured in their enthusiasm.

  1. Temple of Tiamat
  2. Black Carriage Prisoner Transport
  3. War Elephant-Bonded mages
  4. Officer's Tents
  5. Mage's tents
  6. Aegon's tent

How do you attack?

So. We need to make this an important attack so that they summon the Avatar...

But without showing our full hand until it is too late for them

We don't need a properly summoned Avatar.
Aegon alone works as well for the god-trap, in fact using him as focus was Snowfire's original idea.

Best case is we beat the Goldies before they call anything big.
Maybe Tiamat will personally force one into existance if we rob her through Aegon, but then that will be a fight we can use our full party for, on one target.
Only two Erinyes in the Erinyes Kill Squad? Where are the other ones?
We have 10 Erinyes Killsquads with those forces.

Okay, Erupt takes a minute to cast, so there will be a reaction if we try to start with that.

I know it's not nearly as destructive as SotD, but how about opening the attack with a Maw of Chaos into the temple of Tiamat.
The idea here is less to kill the greater priests, and more to make the current ritual blow up. If anything can force that, it's this spell.

@DragonParadox, how does sacrifice work through Nirah, Herald of Yss? Can he act as an intermediary? I was hoping that every Tiamat Drake he devours could go straight to Yss.

I don't expect for us to benefit since we're not directly providing the sacrifices. This is more so that Tiamat can't recover the energy if the Tiamat Drakes are killed the normal way.

If he were able to devour them alive it would work that way yes, the trouble is that it would take quite a bit of time to get the drakes down, time he could be using fighting.

@Tomcost, @Crake, the Avatar is indeed not needed for us to succeed with the Well of Eternity.
It'd be a bigger pool of energy overall than F!Aegon, but with roughly the same throughput capacity.

I say, we don't want to see her summon an Avatar unless we fail to capture F!Aegon - and then we are better to bluff the shit out of Tim by showing the Red Dragon Orb on our person, and saying we'll feed it to The Worm.
You know. To make sure she doesn't cut her losses, unlikely as that is. Maybe even make her overspend.

Never mind, killing instead of capturing is the obvious preference in that case.

Dude, I don't think telling Tiamat we'll destroy the Orb is a good threat. She hates the Orb. While she'd like the Red Dragon Wyrm squatting inside, she also really really really hates the Orb itself and wants it gone. We'd be doing her work for her.

So, how do we kick this off, y'all?

I'm thinking of having each Erinyes Kill Squad pick a Drake and it's rider to focus on, swarming them with Undead while the Erinyes and our Sea Drakes harass them at range. The Wyverns can start targeting those not engaged by a Kill Squad using their Teleporting Beetle Bombs.

Simultaneously, we drop the hammer on the Temple of Tiamat and Aegon's tent. Have Lya Wild Arcana an Earthquake spell on the Temple while we SotD the tent and everything around it.

Team Malarys will hit the officer and mage tents, with Tyene hitting the officers with a Sunburst or two and Rina targeting the mages with her Fell Boreal Wind, then sweeping that one all across the area.

Meanwhile, Team Havoc goes for the war elephants and their mages.

Vee will begin her Summoning and the Minotaurs will eat their magic shrooms to grow Huge-size, while the Moonchaser and Team Yss wait in reserve to see how the GC responds.

Is there any way to set up a teleport trap around the temple or the tent?

...good point, I didn't think of it that way, aside from "heh, she'd hate to see the dragon inside dead alongside all the forces we just moved down, huehuehue".

I'm not sure how to bluff her with it to make sure she overspends, but... eh, Viserys will find a way IC, he knows Tim better than we at this point.

Make sure that's a Searing Agonizing Shadow of the Doom, for that sahweet sweet Fire Immunity piercing from our Fire Mastery.
