Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

[X] Frost Edge, an ice-elemental weapon-enhancing spell
-[X] Avalanche, ice-based short to mid-range Buster (-2 XP)
[X] Any of the mastery modifications from the Modification Tier list: Infusion Mastery – Increases mage's capability with spells that store or transfer mana like Divide Energy, Vampire Ray, or Charge Cartridge.
[X] Aerial Combat

The primary reason I think we should go telekinetic master is not for it to itself be an attack - but rather because Laura will be able to Lock an Endbringer in place long enough for us to throw enough Breakers at them, or grab enough people for a forced teleport, or target and fire enough Heavy weapons, etc. It gives us a chance to actually finish them off with less effort than would normally be required because if they can't move we can aim every hit directly at their core.

You saw how effective keeping Leviathan pinned for a few seconds using Epoch's power and temporal sludge. Imagine what we can pull holding him still as long as Heavenfall lasts.
Could she not use her own breakers?

@Silently Watches with TK could laura turn her halberd into a flying icy buzz saw?
Yes.
The tally system will remove the formatting, so if you could change this to make it clear it's for strength, I'd appreciate it.

Counterpoint: While Laura is locking an Endbringer into place with Heavenfall, she can't throw her own Breaker.
My logic was: Laura has the best compatibility with Cassiel > Laura gets the pre-cog boost from Cassiel > Laura is most likely to Unison with Cassiel > Laura most like to have Cassiel's TK boost > Laura should be the one to get Telekinesis.
This is a reasonable chain of thought, but it wasn't at all clear that it was what anyone else was thinking.

Please just vote for the mastery you want. If you include that entire thing, I won't be able to see what you're voting for if I have to reorganize the tally program.

Remember, this is chargen. Not getting TK Mastery just yet does not mean it is forever unattainable.

But our Golden fuck-you beam spammer can do exactly that aimed at their core, and they can't do shit about it. I'm pretty sure even with a weaker version of scion's beam if they are held still for 2 minutes its long enough for him to crush their core.

Basically sacrificing one breaker for every hit to be sure is not a price at all, as anyone who has ever played X-com can tell ya.

I'm not arguing for going down the path in full right now, just that we should start because it is a serious game changer. Particularly against Leviathan, who requires the lightning part of his lightning bruiser status.

And as for right now TK gives her a ranged option and better manipulation of the halberd she has to learn how to swing around.
Which is very important.
And IC it was the first spell she ever used with Cassiel, it has a special meaning.
Plus, Icy. Flying. Buzz. Saw.🤩

[X] Frost Edge, an ice-elemental weapon-enhancing spell
[X] Blitz Action
[X] Aerial Combat
[X] Mirage, create short-lived illusionary "alter-images" that distract opponents

Three basics, and something new for Laura to have fun with. Like, Blake Belladonna done in ice, fun.

I don't know why people have such a jones for telekenetics, they are always the most boring powers visually. Just wiggling your fingers is such a yawn even if you dump enough xp into it to make it worth while.

Levi's pretty durable though, so imo you are overstating "he needs the lightning part of lightning bruiser" part. Focus on the core of Laura's combat capabilities first before you start rushing off to specialize to hypothetical anti-EB capabilities.

Canon!Scion could, but that is not exactly worth bringing up imo due to the Fuck You Beam's Stilling properties (aka super exotic) as well as the fact that Scion in MGET is loooong dead.

Considering the GFU beam is really more a Buster and Breakdown can't do continuous fire…
Made an edit, does that make sense? I don't have a lot of experience making plans so don't know how they interact with tally's.
Works fine.

Also i forgot to comment on it earlier. But giving Laura a viking theme would be pretty cool. Especually if shes going to fight Jotun eventually

There's a little bit of a Viking-ish flavor to her armor forming in my head. I just need to see where it goes. It'd really, REALLY help if I had any kind of artistic talent whatsoever, but sadly I can not draw, paint, sculpt, dance, or make music. All I have are my words.

Scion died and dropped the shard. We've met the Parahuman that picked it up. (Breakdown)

I was mostly going by the fact we know that attack is capable of killing them if it can be made to hit, and he doesn't have nearly as low a fire limit as the rest of our group.

Aerial Combat and Blitz Action provide much needed mobility, Frost Edge for power, and Mirage provides some utility that we currently don't have on our team. Frost Avalanche will probably be first purchase later on. We can vote on whether or not to pursue a telekinesis build later on.

This is pretty much what I've been thingking of all day and just found it randomly searching
That with a wolf head helmet in white and blue and some Valkyrie wings boom more or less what I've wanted since we decided to go Armed Device

Man, I wish we could used this as Laura's appearance:
I actually have a decent picture in mind now, thanks in part to this picture @landcollector found and the top image here fusing with my original mental image image. Again, I wish I could draw and show you what is in my head.

Oh, and @aceraptor the halberd in that picture is super super close to what I had in mind.

No @Wyrd even tailored chain requires padding, unless you're a masochist, and thats before we get into waffle bruises

The lack of need for padding is from her armor being magic. She won't actually be wearing chainmail, she'll be wearing a forcefield covered with an illusion of chainmail. I didn't say it as clearly as I thought I did if it seemed to you that I was listing not needing padding as being part of it being tailored. I meant that she doesn't need padding as one benefit, thanks to magic, and the tailoring as another, that together could move her armor out of the 'chainmail burlap sack' aesthetic.

The first four spells really need to hit the basics, so:
[X] Blitz Action
[X] Aerial combat
[X] Telekinesis
[X] Guardian Beast

For a close combat specialist, Blitz and AC are essential, must haves. That none of the votes I read(I did skim so may have missed others) omitted either of these spells shows we all get that. Telekinesis has so much utility that it can really fill several niches until we can expand her spell list. Guardian Beast is one I'd expect every Mage to have if they weren't worried about the ethics of creating essentially sentient and sapient slaves. This is a game, and all of the active GBs rock(Tim's don't get much screen time for the same reason that Tim doesn't), so full steam ahead on GB.

I don't know why people have such a jones for telekenetics, they are always the most boring powers visually. Just wiggling your fingers is such a yawn even if you dump enough xp into it to make it worth while.

You evidently haven't played RPGs with really imaginative players. TK can be an endless font of creativity, or a dull slog of mediocrity all dependent more upon the user's imagination and inventiveness than the limits of the power itself. I'm less enthused on taking the skill up to Heavenfall, but it is far too useful to ignore. That the character already has some experience using TK makes it more appealing in character, as well.

Man, I wish we could used this as Laura's appearance:

Oh well.

That actually falls within the description that won the vote with only minor edits. What SW ends up with will presumably have far more detail than just "knight armor."

All three of the girls' Jackets have turned into large blocks of shorthand. I hate doing it because it looks so juvenile, but I think Missy's interlude following them getting their Devices and weapons is going to have to have three paragraphs doing nothing but describing their outfits.
Sry, ill do that next time
No worries, just letting you know. The built in tally program only shows me the first ten words or so of a vote when I go into the management screen, so if a bunch of people start off their votes the same way like you did but vote for wildly different things, I can't tell which one's which. That means I can't combine similar options correctly, and that could conceivably lead to a vote that should win losing because the tally doesn't realize it's been split.

So yeah. When it doubt, go with the simplest and shortest description, even if that's just the name of the plan or activity or spell.

I mean, it's not a mastery. Masteries upgrade Device spells to a template's Master-level version. What you want is a normal plain old modification that slightly changes the behavior of a spell.

As a modification, it's fine. I would recommend changing the line to start with "Creeping Frost" and continue on from there
Like so?
[X] Creeping Frost - Modification(weapon-enhancing spells), Stacking mobility debuff on hit, sufficient applications may behave like a Bind.
