Is... Is everyone really okay with Scenic View? Am I the crazy person that thinks it's just godawful?

I think its a nod to Vista when Missy doesnt want to be vista anymore. Maybe shell keep the name as a reminder, but i figure it makes more sense to go with the calico name... especially with the Khopesh.

I don't think it's that horrid, and I appreciate the nod to the whole "Who she used to be" thing, but I do think it's kinda, corny, I guess? Not really sure that's the right word for how I feel about it but I just like how Calico Laughing 'feels' in comparison.

I was just about to comment with something similar to ChaoticSky's reasoning. I don't think referencing her previous cape name with her weapon name would be consistent with Missy's desire to distance herself from her previous work and create a new identity.

It just doesn't fit with the rest of Device names. On one side you have Raising Heart, Levaetin, Mach Caliber, Cross Mirage, Graf Eisen and all sorts of cool names.
And on the other, Scenic View. Like, was Missy lazy and didn't want to think a good name, so her Device is stuck permanently with a phoned-in name?
I know I'm being super salty, but god that name's bad. Panorama isn't as bad, but it still super breaks character. I can really see Missy as she is now wanting to hold on to anything from her previous life give that she wants a clean break.

I only included it because that was one name that was leading early on. Calico Laughing was the only Device name suggested that I actually liked.
It got a chuckle out of me and fits the whole adjective noun thing for a name. Went with Calico because of theme with a khopesh, but I usually like names for magical items to be more up their own ass pretentious. Scenic View does break with that but in a funny way I'm fine with it.

All the Device names feel kind of cheesy to me; I agree with both "Scenic View is Missy thumbing her nose at the Protectorate that she quit" and "Scenic View is a reminder to herself that she used to be Vista", but I can't figure out whether either of those would be a good thing or a bad thing for Missy.

Not that we're actually following that. Of the Devices we have so far, ONE is adjective noun, and that's Perfect Storm. The others are named Sexant, Hiallus, and Asclepius.
On the opposite side of things, I don't see the appeal of the name Calico Laughing. Sounds corny/bad to me just like Scenic View seems bad to you. *shrugs*

And yeah, I agree with you, I like the idea of the nod to who she was, not that Missy would which is a big part of what I'm going with.
And if that didn't come across that's my bad. I'm terrible at putting my exact thoughts into words. Like, I have a lot of internal ideas on the name, etc. I just can't articulate them well.
