I wouldn't describe it like that AT ALL. Missy's decision wasn't based on the idea of "if it lets me cast off my born flesh, it must be an improvement!". Her mindset was "I want protection from Masters SO MUCH that I don't care what the cost is. I will shake hands with the devil himself if that's what it takes".

This was a decision made from a desperate need for safety, not "transhumanism fuck yeah".

Remember folks. Standstill will be going away and rebranding on September. We are on August. This is a time sensitive things folks. Doing a trip with Missy, Kayleigh and Laura is all well and good. But the sooner we get Standstill's situation sorted out the sooner we can fully recruit her and Legend can get the paperwork in order. Getting everything in order on Legend/PRT/Protectorate's end won't be a quick process. We ARE on a timer with Standstill. We are not with a trip to Japan on Earth Aleph with the girls.

Edit: Just because its not explicitly stated as time sensitive doesn't mean it is not time sensitive.

Edit2: Doing the trip with Missy and others is a good action and they do need more down time but we still need to recruit Standstill and not let her slip our grasp.

Well, you convinced me. We'll inevitably see Missy when her core comes in and Standstill's important. We'll be able to actually make her template next week, if I'm remembering the times right.

As your second social? We have a bit of time pressure on getting Standstill onboard (the aforementioned rebranding and moving coming up in September ICly). And the sooner we get Legend onboard with the idea the sooner we can bring Standstill onboard fully with Calamity Witch and co.

You also seem to be assuming in your argument we're locked in on a plan to have her stay with the Protectorate as a Liason to.. uhh, independants. Rather than leave it (because her current issue is with their treatment of her, not with her powers alone) whenever she feels like as Missy did.
 
On the Fallen thing, if you guys want to wait on it, why not postpone the waiting until *after* we have the information? This first action is just getting info on them, so why not get the info, and then we can wait a week or two if we want?

I think the logic is trying not to burn any more bridges with the Protectorate than absolutely necessary. Standing up for Missy was the right thing to do, but it cost us a lot of political capital with the Philly Protectorate... and unless we decamp for Canada we've got to live with these people. Persuading Legend to send us a rebranded/depowered/repowered Standstill as a liaison gives her a safe space to chill with magic types and it gives Chevy a notional handle on the S-rank pain in the ass and her girl band that resides in his town and steals his Wards. Or something like that, anyway.

Ragnarok is effectively a nuclear explosion. There is no refining it or controlling it. It might still have been worthwhile, except that it would have done no good. We didn't need to actually hurt Leviathan to drive him off --as nobody has ever actually hurt him, he just acts hurt-- and a single Ragnarok would have only mildly injured him, meaning we would have killed thousands of innocents and let Leviathan know we have an attack of that magnitude, without getting any benefit from it.

With the exact wording of the post where you said you were talking about Missy, after several pages of people debating what was going on whom, I figured that the "Missy" part could have just been you trolling us. I still had no intention of messing with what was coming up before seeing what you're giving us.

It's a shame about not being able to give Kayleigh a template, for the sole reason that we have nobody else we know, in character, to even start socializing enough to get to the point of scanning them. I agree that the former could make for compelling reading. That aspect of me is just at war with the OCD yelling at me about not having the full set.

I want him to recruit potential mages that we then work more closely with than we did with the Privateers. I'd also like to give Danny a Linker Core Mutation so he can better accompany us in the field.

We also need a week and a half to make the Devices. The retcon for Lacey means we can't power making the Template directly and still get the proper results, and plugging Perfect Storm into a powerful enough generator means IAE starts trying to convert the world.

It's the top tier spell, meaning you point it at something, and when the beam hits that something, it explodes. That's how much control we have over it, and no amount of training in the simulator is going to change that. That's why it doesn't have training points, unlike almost every other spell we have(Guardian Beast being the other).
