Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

That's nice. I don't care.
I shouldn't have to say this, but insulting people on the other side of the argument never actually gets them to change their mind over getting more people voting for it out of spite.

That said, we've wasted more points on more useless things before. Presumably the Build point will also pay for whatever upgrades the Ears and Tail would have gone to, which I suspect are (minor) Enhanced Hearing and (minor) Enhanced Balance and or Reflexes.
I agree that that getting some enhanced attribute would take some of the sting out of it, but the lesson we should be taking from spending points on useless things is to not spend points on useless things, not going deeper into sunk cost territory.

Third, you've already got cyborg Missy; the fuck are you demanding more for?
Its cute that you think a robot arm is where it should stop, I verily disagree with your assessment however. Ideologically, replacing what is lost is not nearly good enough, one must also be willing to trade up from what they have.

I also dont understand your sheer rage at the topic. You know the idea here is to have fun right? Weave a neat story? Im hoping my option wins, but i dont care if it loses. Being infuriated by a story is ridiculous, and the comments even more so. I dont think your doing your stance any favours by acting so rabid and insulting everyone who disagrees with you.

[X] Burn the Sinners – The Fallen made a BIG mistake ruining your vacation. The Protectorate should have the most information on them out of anyone, and you need that info to make the Fallen wish they had never been born.
[X] Bone of the Father – You have heard whispers of several new gangs taking up residence in Philadelphia despite the PRT's and the established gang's best efforts. One may be interesting than the rest. Be available if you need to help out.
[X] Participate in Law and Order event as a social activity instead of as a main activity.
[X] Social with Legend (and Standstill when applicable) about Standstill's situation. How she's being treated by others in the Protectorate is not good and the situation is untenable. An alternative to the current plan is Calamity Witch changing Standstill's power and Standstill being assigned as a 'liaison officer' or Protectorate Liaison to Calamity Witch and co. She'd effectively leave the Protectorate but as far as the Protectorate/PRT is concerned she's on detached duty. Which provides Standstill cover from accusation of turning coat again or running off.

[X] Daddy's Little Girl – It's been a while since you last checked on your dad. It hurts to see him and know that he doesn't and probably never will recognize you, but you should probably stomach the hurt and go to his nursing home.

You see it as spending points on useless things, I see it as spending points on potential things. Namely potential for SW to explore Missy's Transhumanism in character.

Heck, this could be a way to explore the idea of Missy as a person rather than the vessel for Vista. It's something new about herself she didn't know before and is relatively rare.

Sadly Neko is starting to fall behind though, we are down to 21/45. So unless some people add it in to existing votes, its probably going to be doomed.

That assume a full robot body is indeed a trade up. cybernetic enhancements (to a degree) and replacements are all well and good, but I do not see any appeal to being a jarred brain in a metal shell like your envisioned endpoint is.

[X] Hang out with another character(s). This is by definition a non-combat activity.
[X] Hang out with Kaileigh and Missy. Try to remember what it is normal teenagers do. Maybe grab a movie? Hang out? Is there an arcade or something nearby?
(Can we try to get Missy's normal-person/hero balance back a little more towards center? And ours? Because we are deffo heading towards burnout.)

What she did put Tim, Dragon and Taylor in a hell of a lot of hot water, if Chevy, Miss Militia etal want to go that route. She cannot legally grant consent for non necessary procedures.
As a cape, legally she can give consent even though in her non cape ID she wouldn't be able to do so. Especially as she has formally resigned from the Wars and thus is no longer under the Protectorate's or Youth Guard's purview. It stems from cape identities being treated as separate legal identities as an outgrowth of the Unwritten Rules.

SHOULD she be able to give consent? That's an argument we could spend all day discussing. But for the purposes of this story and based off my understanding of canon, this is the reality we're working with.
Does anyone remember how many Devices IAE needs to consume to create a Template Device, btw? I think it was 3 or so, but I don't remember.
5 Devices of the relevant type (Intelligent Devices for Calamity Witch, Armed for Knight, Boost for Enhancement, Storage for Gadgeteer).
Hang out with Kaileigh and Missy.
This needs to have brackets and x with it or it cannot be counted

Transhumanism isn't necessarily just about replacing the human body with a cybernetic one, it can also include enhancing the human frame in ways that tell Evolution to go take a hike. To this end having Missy experience biological Transhumanism via Mutagenics might mean she'd be more willing to get biological repairs / upgrades than going "Oh well, suit me up with another Cyber-limb"

[X] Explore somewhere on Earth Bet. A location must be included. You may bring 1-3 other characters with you.
- [X] Weekend trip to Japan with Missy, Kayleigh and Laura. As a newly-forged anime character Missy needs to see her true homeland, and honestly all four of you need a vacation from your vacation.

Again, there's no reason for this because we have had an OoC vote that makes it so we already know her feelings on this. If there was a more pressing reason for the additional changes I would feel different, but at the moment it's kind of waste over other building projects.

Ah...Yikes. Definitely not voting for Missy to get any extra mutations then. Since we want to give Standstill one of the not-in-use Templates, it'd take 10 build actions to make a Template for her, no matter if we chose Extinction Knight or Infinite Enhancement.

The catgirl stuff isn't particularly funny or clever, it is in fact cringy af. You already got a cat girl with Cat Sith, a raccoon girl with Sam, and a shit load of dog people. Might as well make Missy a maid that turns into a boat if you want to get anime bingo.

I'm not particularly moved by arguments that this is for augmentation as you don't need vestigial ears to enhance your hearing inherently. And arguments for transhumanism don't particularly fly as just randomly mutating isn't really about redefining human existence since Missy was only willing to accept the risks of mutation to get what she wanted: Security for her mind and Freedom for her sense of self ability to make decisions. Getting cat ears provides neither.

I dunno, i think id prioritize templating missy(part of our team) as Extinction Knight over Standstill (doing their own thing)

[X] Everything Is Better With Nekos – Spoke too soon! Missy mutates cat ears and a tail matching her hair colours. -1 Tim Build Slot later.

Speaking of Extinction Knight, has SW ever said what that Template's Rare Skill is? It'd be helpful to know for planning out if we give it or Infinite Enhancement out first.

That's her feelings on Transhumanism, not on Biological vs. Technological Transhumanism.

There's a world of difference between "Being a squishy meatbag sucks, upload my brain to The Matrix" vs. "Being human sucks, I want to be a dragon"

As a player I hope it opens up more options for SW to interact with us, we keep shooting down opportunities to explore more things because we want to improve the things we already have, giving her cat features is a step outside the norm that might prompt SW to have other thoughts about things we can do. (If nothing else MY brain says "A tail means Missy needs to replace all her pants so... shopping trip?")

If it takes 10 build points then doesn't that mean it's going to be two build sessions anyway? (6 per build session)

Just checked and it seems like you would be able to give her a template:
I mean, I've said multiple times that I won't be rolling dice for Missy and have everything but one aspect planned out…

But sure. Template as a backup plan is fine. It's going in with the idea that no matter what I reveal you're giving her a template that pisses me off.
On the other hand, I think she would want us to wait until we see Missy's magic before we start planning for a template.

But we've already seen that Missy doesn't care about the drawbacks of Biological Tanshumanism with the LCM updates. Again, the OoC vote means that she'll be fine with all types of Transhumanism so there's no need for the additional enforcement.

Social.
[X] Train, either in the real world or in Perfect Storm's simulator. SPECIFY which spell or skill to work on. SPELL: RAGNAROK
[X] Train, either in the real world or in Perfect Storm's simulator. SPECIFY which spell or skill to work on. SPELL: RAGNAROK

There is zero value, at all, in 'training' this spell again. We get nothing out of it. It does not make it stronger, let us cast it faster, or make it easier to cast. This vote is to stay home and do nothing.

With the constant of random mutations that would accompany any mutagen-based repairs/"upgrades", not too sold on that path either.

There are NO random mutations from any mutagen except the LCM. All other mutations can be mixed and matched at will, with the caveat that any benefits they get from the mutations have to be supported by the physical changes, so, no giving Missy claws on her feet in order to give her better eyesight. The catgirl ears would give her improved hearing, should she ever get them.

My biggest concern with the catgirl approach is that there is likely going to be a very strong push* to not treat Guardian Beasts as people when their existence comes out, and Missy looking like she is one could cause her issues for the rest of her life. I doubt she wants to never be able to turn off that illusion except in the privacy of her own home, not to mention the issues that could come up when she shows whoever she is dating what she really looks like.

*This reactionary philosophy will happen whenever we reach a point where we have to decide whether AIs, artificial life forms, aliens, etc. should be seen as being equal to humans. It is simple human nature speaking.

Yeah, but we might have things for Tim to build for whatever reason, and I'd prefer to get the necessary Devices built ASAP. If we do decide to use them to make a Template for Missy or Standstill, the less drains Tim has to deal with means the faster we can get the new Template ready.

I think there is a difference between not caring and willing to take the risks and accepting their consequences (jury's still on if she really could have stomached that) if she achieves her goal of keeping her mind safe, figuring out what she wants as a person, and self determination.
