Wasn't Cassiel tagging along as the daughter of Dragon's civilian ID? Did she use a different name for that?

Don't think it's necessary to add yet another vote, but whatever.

Probably not necessary but here's a vote tally.

I wonder how many plans Silently Watches is going to have to adjust because we all latched on to Ice Fate for Laura.

Making her a full Fate copy would be a waste btw. Part of Fate's style is speediness which fits her lightning theme. For Laura I'd imagine tankiness more.

…Crap. I meant to have that in the Mana Poisoning FAQ itself, but it looks like I forgot it. Let me fix that and add a link to this post.

There are five stages of acute mana poisoning.
  1. Stage 1: The mage begins to feel vaguely ill. Nausea, abdominal cramps, malaise, and slowed reaction times soon follow.
  2. Stage 2: Now the mage starts having difficulty concentrating on complex and unfamiliar tasks. Adept and Mastered spells lose one training level and spells at Novice level are inaccessible.
  3. Stage 3: Enough toxic byproducts have built up that the mage develops mild confusion. Close allies and hated enemies are still identifiable, but new faces may blur together, and information may be misinterpreted, leading to bad decisions.
  4. Stage 4: Tunnel vision and more profound confusion set in. Only the most routine of tasks are unaffected. Previously mastered spells are only accessible at novice levels, and other spells cannot be used at all.
  5. Stage 5: The most severe stage of mana poisoning. The Linker Core is now so far damaged that it cannot heal itself, and instead it continues to pump out lethal metabolites that cause multi-system organ failure. This stage is invariably fatal within 24 hours, with the mage generally falling into a coma shortly after crossing this threshold.
Stages 1 through 4 will resolve on their own as the liver and kidneys process the toxins produced by the damaged Linker Core, though this requires casting little to no magic, and later stages take longer to resolve. Should magic continued to be used, mana poisoning will persist or even worsen if high-intensity spellcasting is not curtailed. Advanced societies have treatments and medications that decrease recovery time, though even these are limited to a small number of specialized hospitals.

Should mana poisoning become chronic, the mage will become more tolerant to intense mana influxes, but she will develop other severe health issues, including a compromised immune system, autoimmune diseases, malignancies, or even permanent magical crippling. Individuals who develop chronic mana poisoning have moderately to severely decreased life expectancies.
Having only seen the first few nanoha anime series is this an actual thing from the series or is it something you made up for this quest to reduce magic being OP?
Looked at it that way, you know her she has a basis for her logic
Looked at that way? Looking at it that way? you know she has? you know her, she has?
Because you were limited to a ground angle, you didn't everyone.
didn't see everyone?

As you saw later on, they had two: an anti-Blaster and a precog with danger sense.
I missed the anti-Blaster ... who was that? what was their power?

Nanoha had an unspecified, overwork related syndrome which caused either her body or her magic to fail her at a bad time, which led to her being basically busted to being a trainer in Strikers, and after she overdid it again with full clip divine busters and blaster three overclocked Starlight Breakers...she was forced to take a vacation for a few years with no usage of Blaster modes or cartridges(which she proceeded to spend the 'vacation' doing offworld mock battles with collateral damage of small towns being annihilated, with her students and kids because workaholic).
Its a thing, though the quest made it a more specific thing than the result of long term unhealthy habits.

Also Precia actually DID have mana poisoning and she became immensely erratic, but I suspect she wasn't too stable to begin with.

After fitting some goggles over your classes, you set a pair of bulky plastic earmuffs on the counter in one of the cubicles.
Presumably you mean glasses?

The next Triumvirate is going to be three sparkly magic girls and they also keep a nerd in a closet who hammers out Rings of Power when he's asked to.
Just so long as he doesn't delve into Ring Maker levels and start writing limericks in The Black Speech.

Anybody else reading that with Kayleigh putting just a little too much emphasis on the "kiss" part? :p

Fair enough. Still, a melee combatant with Ice Affinity is scary. It's like the perfect control element to slow down and hinder your enemies while not being excessively useful for ranged attacks unless you get extra creative.
My almost decade old WoW memories are chanting "FROST NOVA" over and over.

We'll have to see what she takes from that series, won't we? :D
Kayleigh's gonna a get a nice suit and barely-concealing-mask plus prop roses, ain't she?

I mean, Outlaw Star might also be on that list, and she'd replace the prop roses with her Caster Gun, but yea, I was thinking "Tuxedo Mask" too.

Edit:

1. bat man 2. spider man 3. ??? 4. dare devil?
Pretty sure that's Spawn, he had a pretty dreadful late 90s / early 2000s movie.
IIRC he's basically a cross between Venom (the Symbiote) and Ghost Rider (shapshifting, forms weapons from himself, powered by Hell but does Good)

She did tag along, but that was as Cassandra/Cassie. CassiEL sounds different enough that it could easily be a different person (see Kayleigh and Cailleach  ), and the talk of merging and giving powers doesn't fit the 9 year old girl Kayleigh met.

I believe that's Spawn.

I forget to make this comment in response to somebody, but wasn't there an Omake about Taylor being the secret love child of Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate? It was mostly Teana teasing them over a comm. channel. Getting our own Fate/Nanoha analogue going would amuse Teana all the more.

I thought Perfect Storm identifies female?

Storm has been consistently described, back when the voice was described at all, as being gender neutral. IAE has a definite male voice. As far as I recall, though, this may be the first time that a character in the story itself described PS as male or female.

Why would she need to change her name?

She was there as "Cassie", as that's a far more common name and is what Missy calls her. Since she appeared to be around 10, Kayleigh may have thought that the similarity in names was pure coincidence given the kinds of thing we were discussing.

Mana poisoning is explicitly a thing in Nanoha. How you get it, whether through over use of cartridges, just plain overexertion, or exposure to high levels of background thaumic radiation is not said. That Nanoha can gather enough magic to cast a Starlight Breaker without any other aid suggests that being in heavy enough combat might be enough all by itself, even if you aren't personally using magic at the time.

1. bat man 2. spider man 3. ??? 4. dare devil?

Spawn. Spawn broods all the time. I'm not certain if he even sleeps, so most of his time is spent brooding by the gargoyles overlooking the little patch of the city he has declared to be his.

Oh! I forgot. I need 4 d100s rolled, 2 for Missy's sync with the fairies and 2 for Kayleigh's sync. I'd roll them myself, but I've been told I'm not allowed to do that anymore because the dice hate my guts.
