Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

[X] Make Lacey a regular mage
Lacey was a very poor option for a template. I can sympathises with not wanting to fight, but she has to in order to improve her abilities. Removing this problems would be wonderful for her and us.

I don't have a Phd. but wouldn't Flare and Ice mana be on opposite spectrums? As in, the ability to light stuff on fire and the one to reduce energy in an object till it freezes.

*Looks at how Fate and Nanoha defeat Rein Einz in the movie*

Just sayin'
Frost magic is supposed to be physics breaking in a different way but...thermal shock adds more damage than either freeze or burn could to anything solid

They would, but I was asking if you meant something by "complimentary" besides just the physical effects of heat vs cold.
I'm wondering if combination spells/attacks are a possibility? Not saying you should make combinations with the other mages, but Taylor and Laura's mana are so complementary...

Dunno, I'm just speculating.

Remind me, can D-Ranks obtain Telekinesis?

Ah, THAT'S why you brought up the fight with Reinforce. I'm sure we could think of something. It would probably have to be a dual Buster or dual Breaker attack, though, because otherwise it doesn't have enough spectacle to warrant fun outcomes.

Yes they can.

dual Buster or dual Breaker attack

Death Star styled "focusing mirrors" made of breaker-tier Ice, to focus down Ragnarok's destructive power into a precision beam to aim at Leviathan's core?

Or go Naruto a bit with it (namely Wave Arc), and a Buster-level effect of trapping enemy in a dome of ice mirrors where Calamity then spams Solar beams at odd angles until you need bullet time and a catsuit to dodge them all?

It is hard to argue against that way of thinking, and now that she knows the probabilities, it probably is better if you just scan her and find out for sure one way or the other. A second scan takes only a few seconds, and you wait for the results to be processed and show her that she does not have any magic.

"Linker Core detected. Estimated rank: D."

Or maybe you'll be proven wrong.
I thought some else rolled for her beside the GM and it was super high?

What would be a good series in its place? Would need an Aleph import at best (and i think its still too new) for Irregular at Magic School or Certain Magical Railgun. I think the timeline is closer to Madoka Magica, and thats a bit of a downer that doesn't really refute her whole "I don't want the cape life, its bad for you" mindset.

Its not like we can show her Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha after al.... :V :V oh wait, there is an in-universe Movie that Fate and Nanoha made and Kayleigh absolutely needs to see for shipping fuel :V Teana plz we have a mighty need for you to meet them and get this idea. Plz Tea Tea you are our only hope 😽

Edit: ...... They absolutely would've noticed Perfect Storm trying to hack their ship when we visited, right??? I mean, it did have multiple chances to try and get intel on the modern-Belkans.... and this is probably actual recruiting/propaganda department material, seals and all.

if we can get access showing her the Season 1&2 Movies would be amazing!

Yup, I did, it was 73.

Seriously? You have to edit an existing post to roll die?

Edit: Need to link back to my post to see the die.

Vote part 2

So I actually had a backup plan for Kayleigh failing her LC roll. Because the dice hate this quest. More specifically, it is a choice for all of you.

On the one hand, we could
[ ] Accept the rolls

Kayleigh doesn't have a natural Linker Core, she isn't a mage, and we'll hold onto those social bonuses for a mutation later on. This could possibly net her a AAA core and a minor mutation and all that jazz. Or she could be the weakest mutated mage ever to exist. It all depends on how RNGesus feels at the time.

That's option 1. Option 2 is
[ ] Bend the rules

If we do this, I just handwave the rolls away and Kayleigh gets a D-rank Linker Core. No muss, no fuss. This does come with a catch: despite being a D-ranker, she is not a candidate for a template. It's not great, but with the redesigned Device system and some ideas for gun stuff, we could work with it.

Anyway, I'll leave this out for people to talk about.

The roll was for if she had a D-rank linker core or not, not how high it was.

We should all go to Vegas.

There's this game called Craps.

See the thing here... the game is separate from the betting.

You can literally bet money on the fact you're going to roll horribly wrong.

...

Oh, I just realized the dice are actively hostile. They would probably roll really good out of spite.
