How long do you think it'll take for those rumors to make it to the "silver screen"? If a few mummers are looking for inspiration and take it from what they think is just a rumor Corlys Waters could become Planetos!James Bond. Then when we used the name people could reasonably think we were stealing it from a movie that we in fact inspired. :V

He is already, honestly... we've used him the most out of any of our guises, and we can use Exact Word explanations for most things so as not to tell outright lies, as Lofwyr himself did when acting as Hans.

The best part about that would be that all the copy cats would give us cover if it ever somehow came out. Anything we did with that name that people didn't like could be attributed to someone else who took the name after the story gained popularity.

Not that it's likely to come out, but extra layers of security are always nice.
 
A final note on the construct wagons; this is in fact a perfectly IC motivation to design and manufacture magical Transformers. If that doesn't convince you, nothing will. :V

I don't think we convinced him to share it, but even if we did it's hard for him to do so without seeming like he needs them. That would be political suicide, which for him is only a hair's breadth from the real thing.

This is Orange Emperor we are "interacting" with here, not Crake's pet project :sour:

And to be fair, we only shared lore on Tiamat with Azzy - we still have a Minor Actione we voted-in to have our diploamts make us an official meet-up to exchange the rest of the "We are all fucked"-lore for his "We are soooo fucked"-lore.

Getting in range wouldn't be impossible, but doing it successfully without being detected is far from guaranteed. If nothing else, OJ has really tight security, enough to prevent his into her circle from being infiltrated and stop several assassination attempts.

All it takes is someone with an active Detect Magic or Arcane Sight spell active to notice that OJ has been ensorcelled in some manner.

Really our lore is starting to look more like "we are probably fucked"-lore, whereas his is more like "OH GOD OH MAN WE ARE FUCKED"-lore.

Isn't most of his lore related to local threats with big names like the bloodstone Emperor mixed in? Details on what happened to Heaven, the others, the deep ones, Asmodeus, and the Genie civil war seem pretty apocalyptic to me.

Even if he knows about the true nature of the world, learning that Asmodeus is active on the plane or the detailed consequences of Heaven falling is still pretty awful.
 
@DragonParadox What I like about these arcs is how you so clearly and cleverly show that Viserys is more terrifying when he's not doing things like throwing battle magic around or making grand proclamations, though those moments are momentous and hugely influential too, but when he is the middle-man deal-broker, the shadowy figure who is too useful to turn away but perhaps so useful that you unfortunately begin to rely upon them more and more...

Thanks. I like writing them too , it's fun to write the world with all these layered intrigues in progress and motivations playing off each other and the way Viserys engages with them gives you guys a good view.

    @ The Oceans are full of brain-eating octopi, which very pointedly dabble into time-magic and have virtually endless armies once they get going.
    @ The Shadow is not, in fact, sleeping.
    @ Literally any moment a raiding party of Chaotic Evil Fire Spirits on an Adamantine ship can pop up because the Slavers need profits in the war they are fighting on the other plane.
    @ The ancient mythos of Long Night aren't really mythos, and the power that brought it about is seeking to return, with another sort of pawn, now.
    @ Also a whole host of really weird Kami described in some scrolls, with some faint scratch marks on the pages related to something called..."Wisps"? similar to those on the pages describing "Quasits".

    @ The man is cheerfully offering you trade deals now.
