Is there any benefit to exceeding the check by more than 4 times it's total requirement?
...egoo learning his lesson and not being as paranoid about achieving the Research's goal by any means necessary if in a hurry?
:V

Well, if anything, it should definitely work for Dany agaisnt TIamat now.

Somehow I see Asha being harder to convince. Theon is wiser like that, considering he already grasped the truth of "don't antagonize the fire breathing dragon who commands other fire breathing dragons, or the crazy pirate captain lady."

Off-topic, but you know, our realm's command structure must seem rather labyrinthine and Byzantine (or I suppose that's Valyrian?) to the BLASTers and Westeros in general.

There is probably a great deal of confusion and indignation when they learn how little power and authority is actually inheritable in the Imperium.

Status is very inheritable, but power and authority is transient to the needs and will of the Crown, yes. You can't hand off your Legion to your son, not anymore than Alinor can make her daughter High Steward of the Realm. Those are Viserys' posts to assign and rescind, only while the Small Council really was just a room full of advisers, ostensibly with the authority to act as though they were the King's own appendages, depending on how loved that King is they might be defied or obeyed no further than the King standing in the same room as them, bordering the very edge of treason. And they did not command thousands of individuals directly to delegate their tasks.

But it is because of how broad and deep their authority runs that power is tied so closely to Viserys. Because he only has time to look over one shoulder at a time (well, technically, spies help obviously).

@DragonParadox Probably a pointless reminder, but remember that we agreed together with Lucan and Danelle to reconvene over the course of our cease fire in two months time. So this month.

More generally to everyone... If nothing else Lucan would have learned that reconciliation in a united realm of two continents of disparate peoples requires a secular binding focus to have a hope of unifying them toward common causes. Preaching in the Deep or any of the coastal eastern cities would have illuminated them that their influence is like a bag floating upon a strong breeze, even those who would heed their words and take some value from them would merely add it to a pile of enmeshed belief systems, and some would likely have more heeded patrons or masters to pay attention to than the Father or the Maiden (not that 'heed the word' is ever really theologically associated with any save the former).

I think the thing Viserys struggles with most is reconciling the hypocrisy Lucan speaks to his abandoning of virtue's worth when he himself has made a mockery of justice to which the Father supposedly holds true, and no, that is not even more accurately within the remit of any save the veriest sophist for the scripture has to mean not that which is contravention of everyday judgement, passed from lord to client to subject, or there would be no law, only holy men butchering those who did not beat their chests hard enough nor beat their bound scripture more loudly.

I would prefer for us to be in complete control of any Moon Laser facilities, rather than leave that to a deity of any sort, even one who is our nominal ally.
With interplanetar movement capabilities ... how big could we make mirrors (I'm thinking hundreds of meters diameter here), for how much money, and could they be constructs that can somewhat shape their bodies (aka, focus)?
I think 'focus lots of sun' isn't a totally outlandish concept.

... @DragonParadox, last month we voted to trade knowledge with Spire of Wisdom:
-[X] Trade the Familiar ritual to test the waters in exchange for help with Livestone.
Did anything come out of that?

Also, just so that I can empty out RAs some more - what can you tell us about these ones?
-[] Minotaur Chains (Arcana)
-[] Dream Serpent Skins (Nature)
-[] Alchemical beetles (Arcana)
Those really should have been analysed by now.

  • [X] Speak with a Priest and mutually share history, mostly in regards as it pertains to the Faith in Braavos and elsewhere and that of the Endless Waters, as some background of the whole of the Garden might be necessary to help them see things as the people living there view them, not just what ancient tomes speak.
-[X] Carefully broach the idea of reuniting the two Faiths, not just to exchange lore but perhaps intermix acolytes to better deepen that bond. You have a Grand Temple of their Goddess in your own capital, and should the trade links between it and Vialesk deepen it would be a simple thing on that day if not before to walk the paths back and forth for even the least of Clerics.
-[X] Present a gift to the Temple in the form of a generous donation (20,000 IM in local currency exchanged from bullion with the bursary). Given the proclivity toward charity of the local sects on our Plane, gifting them opulent objects would likely just frustrate them as they carefully avoid giving insult rather than earn their favor, so they are free of course to direct it in whatever ways they wish.
[X] Try to facilitate reuniting the long sundered branches of the faith

-[X] Offer to arrange a meeting with a priest from Braavos, perhaps in the Temple in Sorcerer's Deep.

Regarding going to the moon : obviously, the first things we'll be doing will be setting up a Teleportation Circle and a permanent item granting Air Bubble or something, right?

That way people can visit!
You've only achieved true magitech space supremacy if people can actually visit the moon! Otherwise it's just this disappointing Apollo shit all over again.

Not sure if it would be worth the investment to make the proper facilities and do the necessary enchanting. Maybe if we find something of value to harvest from the moon?

And also, MAKE SURE THE VICINITY OF OUR MOON LANDING IS NOT TEEMING WITH MONSTERS!!! That'd be bad PR.

Hopefully the moon will be an amazing source of Gundanium, er, Mithral, and we can mine the shit out of it. Not that I mind robbing the Efreeti blind, but our own source of highly valuable commodities would be nice.

The moon is the highest perch available in Planetos' context, therefore it's the rightful brooding/nap spot of the emperor. It's like with cats and the highest spot in their living space.

seems like a good enough reason to me. :V
