Points of interest after this:
1) Attempt recruiting in Hampai Emirat: High population means many possible crafters, though few great mages there. Unlikely to support agaisnt Deep Ones as a state (becasue few elites = lots of losses).
2) Set up trade with Zerbat and Dawa Emirates: Unlikely to support direct war with Deep Ones, but may be great sponsors if shown the profits inensuring Plane of Balance doesn't have them.
3) Set up a meeting with Kela Emirate: We can supply them with metal through our Xorn contracts, and maybe dealign with their hsotage situation as a highly-capable, outside party. Unknown military strenght, but lots of crafters to pick and choose.
4) Attempt setting up a meeting with Althazi the Deathless, Brine Dragon: Strong, organized force and ties to Zerbat and Dawa, perfect for our plans if we can convince them to help.
5) Set up trade with Dalaqua and Mardja Emirates: As Artisans, both our realm and theirs can profit greatly from trade.

@Crake, @Artemis1992, am I getting that right from that discussion a few days ago?
Literally powered myself through it only now :/

Other tasks:
6) Buy lore and maps
7) Buy war-animals for our Tritons
8) Visit Moonsingers' star in Vialesk
10) Finding if Lannisters have any business with City-states/mercanaries and stopping it
11) Deal with Relath's grudge - the Adult Brine that took his treasure.

This expidition is sheer fun!

I disagree, I want the seafloors claimed. Population can be covered via immigrants. I'm against preemtively ceding huge swaths of territory to a foreign power simply because we don't have the manpower yet. We've got to play long term here.
Then play the longterm.
By the time we are ready to settle the seafloor we'll also be on the endgame of our mythic path and our magical developement.

We can tell him to face our challenge or leave with relative ease at that point.

He's an Old Brine Dragon with an unknown number of classlevels, not a living god.

That might not be a good idea just yet; non sapient stuff sure, but trading the services of thinking beings to people who trade slaves could lead to some unpleasant misunderstandings.
We'll just have to make sure that we draw up hiring contracts for the Fungus Leshies, and make it clear that what they pay us is a fee, for putting them in contact with the Leshies.

Actually many mages, just few great ones.

I generally agree with the rest, so I see no reason not to take this chance for a meeting and maybe get both the dragons with top-tier heavy infantry.

Don't forget dragon hunts. Hunting Relath's old grudge to get ourselves a dragon corpse, and possibly hunting Galzerai and slaying her to rescue the children of the Emir of Kelasi and gain their favor (and cement to the Plane of Water that we're not easy targets).

We could probably beat him now, frankly, even if he maxed out that Hidecarved Dragon PrC. But that's not the point. I'm speaking against the notion that we'd stand aside and let a foreign power reign over our seas. There's a reason nations squabble over oceans -- trade and fishing. This isn't useless deadlands we're talking about. If Brine Dragons show up in our backyard and try to establish territory they're going to face us.

Better meet with the party in question first, I think.
At the very least, will get us good info on the girl to hunt.

And Relath's grudge...
Honestly, it's too small-time.

We'll do it, sure, I won't argue - but my priority is firmly on "FUCK FUCK FUCK WE NEED TO PREPARE AGAISNT DEEP ONES HERE FUCK FUCK"

Okay.
I'm not really against you here, we can either keep him out of our waters or ensure that he doesn't stay a "foreign power" if he should choose to migrate (unlikely as that is since he does have his holdings in another world) by getting him to swear to us.

I just think that letting the mere idea what he might do if, and if, and if... stop us from trying to hire some more troops against the squids is overly paranoid and contraproductive.

Discern Location should make this quick. I doubt he has a Mind Blank. If he does we'll save it for later.

I'm not against working with him, I'm just prepared for an inevitable attempt at occupation which will have to be addressed when the time comes. The squids are definitely a bigger concern.

If we actually need him, accepting his foot in the door will be part of the price we pay.

Generally speaking though, we're better off avoiding or dealing with problems before they form. If we can accomplish our goals without inviting disruptive elements into the plane it's worth our time to try.

We'll probably see them anyway, but we might be able to avoid a multi front struggle with the backers to our various "allies" by being a little picky about who we invite on plane.

Can't we see if we can capture Relaths old grudge alive, even if you're against my plan to have its body possessed, I would like to see if we could make a second Zomak out of it, or maybe feed it to Yss, so he can make us a snake dragon.

I like making peaceful contact with Dragons, but I don't like selling prisoners. It's too close to slavery for my taste. And being hired as a mercenary to capture prisoners? Not worth our time, not unless his payment is truly insane.

I feel like I've been largely ignored with my pings today's morning :/

Ya'll have anything at all to say about adding the "Monster of Legend"-template via Yss onto a Sea Serpent, @Crake, @Goldfish?

Otherwise, I'm shutting up.
I know when to stop pushing an idea onto people...

With how this expedition grows in scope, I'm having fears that well have too many unresolved MAs, jeez :V

It's an epic delve into a city/plane though.
I don't think we ever had something quite like

I wouldn't have a problem with that. It would be another powerful defender for SD, if nothing else.

I'm after the dragon corpse. Both those proposals eat the corpse up, which defeats the purpose entirely. Also trying to make it into a Zomok is counterproductive to the extreme. No dragon wants to be a Zomok. It would never thank us.
If they really wanted their children back they'd give Galzerai back the Anvil so maybe we should do a little background research to make sure we're not eating the propoganda.
Sure, we'll do our research, but by the same token I'm betting that it was just some bullshit spewed by Galzerai as an excuse to attack the emirate while their forces were away.

I'm ambivalent about the Dragon deal, but inquiring about the specifics of the enchantments he's after and seeing what he'd be willing to pay costs nothing but time.

Similarly the second one seems like a simple way to advertise our fleshcrafting skills in more ways than simply war beasts, which is good for us economically.

And yeah, you're pretty much right on with the Admiral before committing, so carry on there.
