...I have no idea, actually.
I've never read the book, and I don't think DP ever drew attention to that place in-quest..?

I mean, I've heard that DP took some of world-building from it (B!S Emperor, Yi-Ti's Eldritch Archmage, etc.) and then fleshed it out, but I can't begin to guess beyond that.

@Duesal, @Duesal, @Duesal!
No you fool! You will only enrage him if you summon him like that!

Come, let me show you how to do it properly.

@egoo before I forget, the things from the book "A world of ice and fire" are common knowledge right? I really want to visit the Dry Deep, it's almost certainly Deep One related and I want to know what fucked them up so much that the sea dried up.

Behold a map.
Now, with that visual context.

Something about the far east that's interesting is that it has MASSIVE inland seas that dried up. A total of three -- the Great Sand Sea, the Shrinking Sea, and the Dry Deep.

I'm suspicious they were drained into the Underdark. You don't just randomly have entire seas dry up like that, especially when places like the Bleeding Sea aren't in a similar state.

The shrinking sea seems to be a work in progress and thus likely to offer more clues, it is also closer, may be something to ask The Yi-Ti Emperor about, it's close enough to his domain that it might be a concern.

I am far more intrigued about the massive pit of Bones in the Dry Deep tho, I wonder if a skilled enough necromancer could raise an army of undead Krakens/whatever from there.

It's a necromancer's heaven for sure. You should ask DP if there's a chance of any rumors from there that we could get from Yi Ti. This turn will be our first shot at far east rumors.

@DragonParadox what Duesal said, do we have enough contacts in the east to learn some rumours about whats going on beyond Yi-Ti?

Hopefully traders from Bonetown reach Yi Ti itself and we can purchase some samples.

We have spaceworthy ships, now we just need some big enough rocks and we can "fix" everything.
'So, you invested a year's work, hundred of thousand marks and months of the time of our most skilled crafters to design a weapon without equal. And now you tell you are going to throw rocks at my enemies.'
'... yes?'
