I feel bad for the sea lord, every other meeting we have ends with him learning another awful truth about the world; usually worse than the last one he learned.
The company keeps getting stranger and stranger too. Saan is probably the closest thing he had to a peer perspective during this meeting. That bit with "none of us here have to fear death" must have thrown him through a loop.
We're probably going to give inquisitors a complex about promotions too. Each level comes with more trust, so the kind of horrible shit you see gets worse. By the time they reach full inquisitor they'll be flinching at the sight of sealed envelopes.
We have been pushing anti-god propaganda since... basically day one
Well, kind of. It'd hard to be farther away from a hardcore religious fanatic than Viserys.Where the fuck did you get this from? I am sorry for my rudeness but what?
Unless you see Gods as Pokemon, in which case He is the very best, like no one ever was.Well, kind of. It'd hard to be farther away from a hardcore religious fanatic than Viserys.

Err, well, debatable. We've made it difficult for poor Evil deities to work madness, destruction, neverending desecration against all living things, and getting their rightful tribute from their followers in the form of one monthly massacre and halted long-term plans of mass genocide to feed their war machine. That isn't anti-religious. Viserys isn't a praying theist. But he isn't an anti-theist. We don't give two shits about what god people pray to. We know they exist. We make deals with them and that is the extent of our relationship. At no point have we done anything like "Down with the gods" or passed legislation effecting them in a negative manner.

But a bunch of our Gods made out like bandits.
Speaking of we all good on those heart trees? Also I still wanna see about Church Grimm. We make a God I wanna make every Good Boy that dies into one in the Celestrial Bureaucracy. The Empire will be the churchyard and every soul living or dead its wards.Unless you see Gods as Pokemon, in which case He is the very best, like no one ever was.
Bilestone is a valid sacrifice, yes.Speaking of we all good on those heart trees? Also I still wanna see about Church Grimm. We make a God I wanna make every Good Boy that dies into one in the Celestrial Bureaucracy. The Empire will be the churchyard and every soul living or dead its wards.
Also chances of making merlin king temples in every major coast city? I want that bit of extra protection and atleast the speed in pools that purge aberration taint. Would Bilestone count as a sacrifice? And did we ever get the recipe for that thing Xorn used to purge the stuff?
Well, we're not traumatizing them on purpose... it's just a natural consequence of reaching for Phenomenal Cosmic Power. There's a lot of fucked up shit you gotta know.We have a list of approved gods and a spy agency. Now all we need to do is emotionally traumatized our child mages (on purpose) and fight the drow and we are the Dwendallian Empire.

The thing is, a lot of this stuff was performed out in the open, we sort of twisted back the diseased skin-curtain and revealed "yes, this is what cultists get up to" in Tyrosh, with the implicit subtext of "and then they get purged with fire".I am sure the lecture on how the Devils torture people who make pacts with them (courtesy of Unilla book) is purely scholarly. Has notihing to do with dissuading ambitious and stupid mages.
Edit: Although knowing the consequences of pacts should be a lesson they ought to learn.
And sacrificed to eldritch gods, we ate the PR hit already, might as well own it up.The thing is, a lot of this stuff was performed out in the open, we sort of twisted back the diseased skin and revealed "yes, this is what cultists get up to" in Tyrosh, with the implicit subtext of "and then they get purged with fire".
