Ideally we would want the top of the tower to be used for casting both the Burning Shadow spell and the Lenses Spell to make a Solar Laser.

It kind of has me thinking of a Lighthouse, maybe with someway to store sunlight magically?

I'm gonna keep it real with you my dude, we are in almost exactly the worst College of Magic to be making Glorious Golden Sunlasers.

[X] This is Dawongr Weber's money. The funds will largely go projects within the Karaz Ankor - your tower for one, but also investing in the Undumgi or Ulrikadrin, or purchasing goods made by Dwarven artisans or sold in the markets of Barak Varr.
[X] Karag Nar penthouse
The first possibility that leaps to mind is the uppermost dwelling of Karag Nar, with a beautiful 360-degree view and a commanding position. The Black Orc Warboss' reasons for taking it for his own are obvious, and though it will take some time and effort to clear out the possessions that hadn't been safely stowed in the King's Armoury, it is bursting with potential and would allow you to keep a careful eye on the Undumgi and Death Pass.

[X] There's a growing concentration of royalty here. Get to know King Kazador, and this 'Sky-Thane' Prince Gotri.
This suggests a future assisting Karak Eight Peaks with foreign relations, as a Spymaster focused on threats outside the Karak.

[X] Scout the rest of the Eight Peaks, to find out what other horrors are waiting out there.
This suggests a future assisting Karak Eight Peaks with its reconquest, as a Spymaster focused on threats within the Karak.

[X] Convince Esbern and Seija to stay long enough to deal with the spiders in the Chiselwards.

[X] Claim the site where Ranald mugged Mork and build a shrine to Ranald there.
This suggests a future assisting Karak Eight Peaks, as leader of the Undumgi and point of contact for the Ulricans.

[X] Write a series of papers on the magical phenomena you witnessed. Or better yet, get your Journeymanlings to do the actual writing.
This suggests a future of investigation and study at Karak Eight Peaks, and perhaps helping Johann poke at Skaven technology.

...Blazing hell, that is very tense. For comparison, @BoneyM, what would have happened on a Nat 1? This seems like one of those rolls where a Nat 1 would have dramatically shifted the tone of the Quest, so I confess curiosity in this regard.

Just thought of something. Ranald's talisman lets us flawlessly lie. Skaven are hilariously backstab prone. Who wants to find out if we can get nearby Skaven groups to backstab one another via deployment of well timed lies?

[X] The Grand Abyss
If you value secrecy over all else, you could go just as far down as you can up. Deep below Karag Lhune lies the Lhune Deeps, and below that is the Grand Abyss. The Dwarves never were able to plumb the extent of its depths, and that is somewhat concerning, but it would certainly be impressive to have a tower built atop a bottomless pit.

[X] King Belegar is allowing you to use the King's Armoury. Recover your extant study materials from Stirland and tuck them away safely in there.
This suggests a future catching up on your pre-existing study topics.

I would have had to stop writing and go think about it for a while. Thorgrim inventing Dwarven excommunication? It would have gone really bad for everyone involved.

I have to say of the tower choices the Dark Abyss intrigues me since not even dwarfs know how deep it goes which sounds like a prime Ulgu spot to me but simultaneously it almost assuredly isn't a waystone nexus like some of us hope for our tower since those require stone henge like structures iirc and you can't build those over a bottomless abyss.

"Hey Emperor! Your manlings did great!"
"But we didn't send any-"
Belegar, /grim stare.

[X] Karag Nar penthouse
[X] Citadel Tower

Preferred choice is the Citadel Tower, for being close to Belebro and the entertainment of a 50% chance of stymieing any overland attacks with Burning Shadow. Karag Nar penthouse because we proved we can get a good night's sleep there, and for the pleasure of having a full 360 degree view of the entire eastern valley with which to use our ulgu spyglass with.

[X] Claim the site where Ranald mugged Mork and build a shrine to Ranald there.
[X] Scout the rest of the Eight Peaks, to find out what other horrors are waiting out there.
[X] All this time away has made you miss your friends. Visit Anton and Wilhelmina.
[X] You're going to have a rough time explaining your windfall to the Bursars. Better to get that over with.

I want to swing back by the Empire and push that 1/4th remaining gold around. Books and tithes and reports and spreading some gold around in Stirland. I'm normally the first in line to vote for meeting new people, but I feel like the Sky-Thane and Kazador can wait a bit.
Holy shit that's a good reason to spend time in the Citadel. That would be awesome if we just occasionally melted stuff with shadow acid.

I also like the idea of spending the rest of our cash on Stirland. Even a 1/4 should be enough to pay off our debt, completely saturate investment in the Niter Factory and expand the operations of EIC if we feel like it.

Huh, okay that's interesting maybe it won't lead into Skaven Deep Examination Hell. Cool lets make sure Esbern and Seija won't leave so we can get all the perspectives.

Guys. Guys please. Please don't build our wizard tower in the fucking Bottomless Abyss, it'll look real cool but no one is ever going to come visit.

There are like 3 different tower locations with real, actual strategic value, don't just vote because digging down deeper than any dwarf sounds cool. That didn't work out super well for Moria.

You guys want a Balrog? That's how you get Balrogs.
We can probably just pay cash for the tower, and the trainer cost was for an entire organization. An individual instructor might we'll be less.

But yeah, this is basically our one-and-only chance to get a weapon that is a collaboration between Kragg the Grim and Thorek Ironbrow. :D
If we were literally Vallaya and we expended all our Dwarf Favour, maybe, from what BoneyM said.

Hmm. Just had a thought. If somebody decided to attach an banner of some sort to a Gyrocopter such that it's horizontal and forms a singular shadow with the vehicle itself, would we be able to use Burning Shadows through that? If so, that's pretty broke as fuck, being able to just beam down horrible acid at enemies with minimal scope of retaliation of their part.

I'm sure there would be kinks to work out but it seems to be worth the effort for the closest thing WH Fantasy would have to an orbital death laser.

Can someone link me to the price list for spending Dwarven favor? I can't seem to find it.
