So I'm looking at the vote for the Windward society and that is shaping up to be a big emotional update whatever happens. I don't think I can do it justice this late.

I think we are going to have a two update day today (thankfully they were not small updates). Are you guys fine with continuing the psionic sale vote or should I think of some addition?

Two updates are plenty, dude.

More people need to vote for the psionic item commissions anyway.

@DragonParadox So what, Kai Gang Ru was just being all Arrogant Kung Fu Xiaoxia Antagonist Guy and underestimated the Emperor?

One would think even an overmighty sorcerer would wonder how, with all of their potential enemies and rivals and the people scorned over the years, the house the Azure Emperor belonged to could hold onto its throne for centuries.

Even with corroded authority--that's just corroded outside of the boundaries of Yin. The guy is still filthy rich and surrounded by the most sophisticated security apparatus in the world--well, was, since nothing is more 'secure' than being a 9th Circle mage who is also a True Dragon and in general proximity to your own holdings.

In part it was him being angry over having all his plans thrown into disarray and wanting to humiliate the emperor in the moment before his death after all the kowtowing he had to do. As for wondering why the Azure emperors kept power, it it worth nothing that the rule of the Azure emperors coincided with the waning of magic and the introduction of stricter laws regarding its practice. One would not expect that to come with major magic tricks particularly since the ring the emperor used was guarded against simple detect magic and Kai Gang Ru is not a diviner so he did not have anything better to use in order to notice it.

Let's be fair here, if mundane rulers have any actual ability to defend against greater magic after the long dryspell here is not the worst gamble.

Remember the Archon of Tyrosh?
The one the Rakshas killed, the one we killed and the next one we killed?
If Emps had been like those Kai could have won.

Hell, even now only the presence of our companions makes me certain he'll loose, against the protections of the Azure Emperor I'd still bet on him, if only because it's easier to get more Rakshasa reinforcements than to get more eternal guardian spirits.

I guess he chose... poorly.

The guy is F U C K E D though, really.

I bet Kai Gang Ru got himself de-eunuched ASAP upon turning traitor or gaining significant magical power.

Wouldn't hurt to put out some feelers and start some rumors about a service to magically restore one to full functionality. Of course, not all who inquire about it would be traitors, but there's a good chance that those willing to break that cultural taboo are more likely to break others.

Then again, this could spark the worst sort of witch hunt.

Examiner: "This eunuch has testicles!"

Official: "He's a traitor!"

'Night guys, see you tomrow with the widward discussion then probably off to deal with the undead snake on the plane of fire.
I wonder what it's favorite kind of snack food is? There is a wide assortment of tasty Devils in the Larder, but no live Efreeti.

We do have some well-aged Efreeti corpses, though.

Here's what I have so far. Nothing major, but some useful stuff.

The gloves are cheap and just generally useful in various situations. If nothing else, they're good for the Inquisition. The Psionatrix is for Jeyne. It's not too expensive, but will help her a lot.

And since DP has ruled that there is virtually no interaction between Magic and Psionics, a Detect Magic spell won't do us any good to even find when psionics are in use. The masks can be distributed as we see fit, between ourselves and the Companions, allies, Inquisition agents, etc.

These are just the tattoos I thought would be useful. If they inhibit spellcasting, we won't be using them much on any of our casters, but there are others who could get some use out of them, such as Sandor and Sharra. Ya'll see any other Psionic powers we might want, I'll add them in. Keep in mind, however, that anything which affects an enemy will have an extremely low save DC, making it nearly useless, and that most effects can be duplicated just as easily, not to mention more cheaply, using magic.

While worn, a third eye conceal hides the wearer from all powers that attempt to view, locate, or otherwise detect the wearer, except for the Clairsentience power metafaculty. But even metafaculty reveals only the name of the location—not an image, nor any other information regarding the wearer.

We need to incorporate a third eye into the crown, it's in the Psionics Handbook.

The Third Eye: Conceal is just a Psionic Mind Blank effect. That's basically no different than what Viserys currently benefits from.

Also, the crown is pretty much a no-go for further enchanting. It's already part the point of what is normally possible without Epic crafting, and any upgrading that took place would require Viserys to not be wearing it while the work is done. That's not feasible nowadays.

That isn't to say that a Psionic Mind Blank item wouldn't be worthwhile at some point, though.

Both Mind Blank and Psionic Mind Blank are pierced by Metafaculty, the Third Eye provides a unique defensive capability, if we have to get it made separate to the crown that's fine too.

Metafaculty can defeat spells, powers, and special abilities such as screen or mind blank (or even a wish spell) that normally obscure clairsentience powers.

(however, metafaculty can pierce the protective quality of psionic mind blank)
