Unrelated to this, by playing a bit Pathfinder Kingsmaker (computer, not the module) I really got a taste for Kineticist.
It's like the 3.5 Warlock in some regards, but with more options, a very nice cast-from-hitpoints mechanics for stronger attacks than the basic blast and only two important stats, Con and Dex.

A mage who casts strictly from physical stats? That would be weird to role-play. Might be interesting once you get into it though.

[X] Plan Slimebuster
-[X] Viserys tests the efficacy of magical flame on the slime by using his Fiery Burst ability to attempt to burn away a patch of it. If successful it is successful, we will methodically sweep through the upper levels of the Necropolis clearing away the slime. He and Lya will use their Fiery Burst ability while Vee uses a 6th level spell slot to Summon 1d4+2 Large Fire Elementals to assist (30 round duration).
-[X] If the slime is not negatively impacted by the fire, or worse, appears to feed on it, instead head directly to where Valaena's group stopped.
--[X] Before moving further into the Necropolis;
---[X] Viserys casts Mirror Image and False Life.
---[X] Dany will cast Greater Magic Fang on Viserys, then cast Detect Secret Doors.
---[X] Malarys will cast Defending Bone, Battlemagic Perception, and Magic Circle Against Chaos.
---[X] Everyone (except Richard) will cast Divine Insight, either from a spell slot, prepared spell, or using a Page of Spell Knowledge.
---[X] Lya casts Life Bubble, Mass Aid, and Mass Resist Energy(Acid) and Mass Resist Energ(Cold) on everyone, then Mirror Image and False Life.
---[X] Vee will cast Invisibility Purge, Mass Resist Energy(Fire), and Mass Resist Energy(Electricity) on everyone, plus True Seeing on herself and Viserys.
---[X] Varys activates her Tailring, Belt, and Ring of Venomfire, along with the Cloud Wings power from her Anklets, becoming Super Varys, Ninja-Assassin Queen of the Pseudodragons. She will keep a lookout using her Telepathic Mindsight to warn us if she detects any non-mindless creatures in the Necropolis.
-[X] Before we head further into the Necropolis, Viserys uses the set of Titan's Tools borrowed from the Golden Fields road project to place a stone wall blocking the entrance to the structure. It will be six feet thick and composed of crystal clear quartz.

@DragonParadox, was Viserys able to snag a set of Titan's Tool from one of the road construction crews for the week? I know it got discussed some last night, but we never put it to a vote. It seems like it would have been a prudent bit of prepwork, and the roads in Golden Fields can stand to stop growing at 27 kilometers a day for a short while.

It's not really a mage.

As I said, it shoots like a Warlock.
Added to that it has utility-talents and modifications to that blast.

It honestly reminds me more of classic comicbook-powers. Shoot elemental blasts and have some associated superpowers.

Kineticist – d20PFSRD

Edit: The interesting part are the Burn mechanics. How much HP do you want to spend to give your blasts some extra punch, or shoot several in one turn, or hit areas?
As far as I can tell a mid-level Kineticist can either play conservativly and shoot the whole day, like a decent Archer or Warlock, or he can go Nova and almost kill himself for extreme damage over very few rounds.
Both look viable.

I missed the discussion unfortunately. You guys can just staple it on a vote and I'll see that it gets done.

* checks out Burn *

Unhealable damage eh? I can see players going above and beyond to get some kind of healing that works on that. The campaign notes almost write themselves.

Having seen a kineticist in play, the Burn mechanic is a bit clunky in terms of tactical choices - the class incentivizes you to start the day with your burn at the maximum benefit for elemental overflow, and then after that you want to not spend a whole lot because the damage scales with your level but the burn cap does not. I did find that they are one of the classes LEAST likely to die, because all that burn damage is unhealable nonlethal, so you're just walking around with a large lump of nonlethal damage all day. That puts you closer to unconscious, but NOT closer to dead, so you are not in danger of being overkilled when you stop being a threat. My group's earth kineticist reached some damage levels that were a bit disgusting in PF math, but not that out of place here.

Kineticist Burn can be mitigated through various abilities and feats, and the damage is all nonlethal, which isn't quite as dangerous as taking true HP damage.

Need more votes if we're going to get another update today, ya'll. Unless @DragonParadox wants to do an interlude instead?

Been poking around looking for interesting spells and found this one again; Mordenkainen's Capable Caravel.

Now this is how you do ocean-going exploration in style. A high level adventuring group has other methods of travel, of course, but if you're new to a place (or a Plane), you could get a lot of use out of this spell.
