@egoo What trees were we planning to grow for them again? I can't recall the effects. .

Regular Healing Tree for Pentos, ...something something for Braavos.
Can't remember the effects either :/

I just trawled through all the Heart Tree discussions, and...while more trees for Braavos has been brought up several times, I didn't see any mentions of suggested effects. I mighta missed something, but it looks like we're working from scratch here.

Well...
There was that alternative Heart Tree proposed when we were making Silver Eye's tree back then...

And it was assumed to be slated to be grown once we have enough resources for throwing them around like that....

But I won't be able to find it from my phone, plain and simple.

Likely not from my PC either, to be fair - not a single bit of discussion arises in my mind from the time, and that's what I usually search by...

Oh, just a regular Healing Tree in their Isle of the Gods, with a nice fruit tree godswood.

We can grow them another tree if you guys had more ideas. It's not like we don't have the stockpile for it.

BTW, now that Tyene and Waymar are due for a level up, we're finally going to need to find new PRCs for them, or keep leveling them in their bases classes.

@TalonofAnathrax I know you were advocating for Abjurant Champion for Waymar. I like the class well enough, but I'm not sure if it would be right for him, not as he is currently built.

It's hard to look while I'm at work, but what about Tyene?

EDIT: I'm also sad Teana didn't level from this. Really looking forward to her next level.

@egoo for now, let's just grow the one Healing Tree. We can always come back later to grow more when we've got a better idea what we want/need to grow.

I would prefer making re-fluffs of existing PRCs if at all possible, @TalonofAnathrax @TotallyNotEvil.

No need for any special abilities that would make them more OP - just the things that would fit their characters and personal stories more than the stuff in bog-standard PRCs.

Pretty please?

Adding in, then.

What do we want for the fey? Do we want them to swear vassalage to us? Set up a boderpost/registration office that all fey must use before coming to our empire?

Okay, tried again and found this, which I think was the first suggestion for the Silver Eye tree. Not sure if it fits what we want to do now, but it's all I could find.

The Binding Tree of Braavos
"A warrior's face stares back at you, stern and unflinching, the same face as the Titan who has stood for centuries as a bastion of protection for the Secret City."
Effects:
CL 20 Hallow Effect
Secondary Effect 1: Dimensional Anchor
Secondary Effect 2: Magic Circle Against Evil
Secondary Effect 3: Tongues

It just means that Teana has taken a lot of steps towards that next level. She's not quite there yet, but in the next big fight she'll probably make it.

If you're going to effectively make a Fiend-Binding Tree for Braavos you may as well put in Death Ward instead of Tongues.

I'm going to need some time to think this though.

*sigh*

I feel like I have to design a whole system for 1-2 exceptional cases. I'm beginning to think this might be a good time to just apply handwaveium.

Well think about it, suicide is about denying the enemy your life, but unless you go about torching your body in death, you can't stop them from having their merry way with your corpse afterwards.

If you wanna do that, you'd best have a more reliable disposal system than a canister containing wildfire lodged in your sternum. Looking at you, Varys.

*shrugs* don't look at me, I just found it. You should bring it up with the guy who thought it up.

You weren't "laughed off," we didn't go Blackfyre hunting because we had a lot of fires closer to home that we had to put out and it seems that every stone we overturn reveals more. Devils in White Harbor, Deep Ones in the Narrow Sea, Genius Loci and Lich in Lys, idiot Aurane to babysit, etc. Pretty much every turn had multiple things that had to be done ASAP. That being said, the Blackfyres have definitely jumped in priority right to the top of the list. Next turn I'll definitely be advocating to squeeze in time for a proper hunting action. We're going to find whatever hoard Tiamat's Aspect managed to build up on Prime Material.

Anyway, on a different note, here's a proposal for a Braavosi Heart Tree in the event that we manage to somehow convince the Sealord and the Silver Eye that Braavos would benefit from it being grown (after we finish growing all of our own Heart Trees, and when we have sacrifices to spare).

The Binding Tree of Braavos
"A warrior's face stares back at you, stern and unflinching, the same face as the Titan who has stood for centuries as a bastion of protection for the Secret City."

Basically giving them a CL 20 prison for any outsiders or whatnot the Silver Eye manages to capture and needs to interrogate, and Tongues to help with said interrogation. They already have a source of Holy Water according to DP, otherwise I would have included that instead of Tongues. But the benefit on our end is that a Heart Tree in Braavos gives Bloodraven his eyes in Essos, "the land where no weirwood has grown for an age".

EDIT: Of course, we wouldn't be doing this for free. For a CL 20 Outsider interrogation tree I'd say 10,000 - 20,000 IM.
:p

[X] Goldfish

@egoo, @Goldfish :
  • @TotallyNotEvil and I felt like Tyene could just go back into Mystic. She already has all the sterling class abilities she could possibly want. Spell progression is already amazing, at her level.
  • Abjurant Champion would be great for Waymar. Get him a runestaff with some abjuration spells, and wham! Otherwise, I would give him levels in Duskblade. He is already amazing enough, IMO. Arguably Warblade or Crusader levels would make sense soon (how important is his spellcasting, anyway?) but how could he even train for them?
At this point, we have all the cheese needed. Tyene would love a PrC that adds domains, but her lack of Knowledge skills makes them all unavailable.
Give her a Mythic Rank, but otherwise focus on Mystic levels !

:p
Ha, fair enough.

My current reasoning is that if they're going to be calling fiends at all they're going to want that extra protection. They've got enough wizards to cast Tongues on their own if needed.
Why not make a Tree of Trade?

Boosts to charisma, Tongues, and one other thing that I have yet to think of...
It'd only cover a small section of the market if the Sealord agrees, but I'm not against it.

Also let us not lose all sense of perspective of what money is actually worth, people. I marked 25,000 down because I knew it would be overpaying for the actual level of support given without welding the wealth of a small (large, actually) fief onto their networth as a reward for one action. That lies the realm of insanity and it's unsustainable. Do you know how much our upcoming projects are going to cost?

More than we actually have. No need to make our (my) job any harder, here.

Hey, you always have my support when it comes to paying people sensible amounts of money.

I have been fearing slowly/quickly spending away our net worth for... A while, now.

Well it hasn't been a concern... only because we keep doubling our GDP by tapping our sugar daddy for more pocket change, the Brass Bastard's endless navy be praised.

Something tells me that isn't any more sustainable than trying to squeeze peasants for coin like they do in Westeros, so let's make sure we continue to improve our other revenue streams, eh?
