[X] Goldfish

Hope this actually engineers a discussion. If not then I'm going with the scorched earth option.

I'll slap them with Mammon's stuffed corpse if that's what it takes to get them to understand than no one has time for this petty bullshit when the world is literally on the brink of ruin from multiple angles.

Also I kind of want to vote goldfish's plan just because It's called "My Turn" and I just finished playing transistor last night.
That game is excellent. One of the very few I 100% and I enjoyed it a lot.

-[X] "Before this discussion progresses any further, Lady Danelle, let me make one thing clear. Your friends are free to go, and Lucan's along with them, either now if you wish it or released directly into your custody when we are finished here. Your friends were not my intended targets and I will not hold them hostage against your good behavior, or to leverage you into my service. Lucan's have served their purpose in revealing to me his concern for them and ultimately leading to this meeting. Now, I let you speak your mind and now I would appreciate it if you let me speak mine."
Mucho better.

-[X] "I have all too often seen mages bound to service, not through oaths willingly given or loyalty earned, but through enchantment, curses and worse. Surely you are familiar with Tywin Lannisters' Golden Shields? I've yet to encounter one who was not magically bound to serve him, regardless of their willingness. The Citadel? They sent a spy to infiltrate my Scholarium, one who had been branded through magic such that he could not disobey the Maesters holding his leash on pain of death. So yes, when I heard rumors that Lucan practiced similar atrocities, I believed them. After all, the man had already
If you guys are truly dedicated to spinning this thread of bullshit I can't stop you, but. She. Will. Not. Buy. It.

--[X] "Are you familiar with the Angels Lucan has Called into his service? If so, you might remember Baelor, once called the Blessed due to his overwhelming piety and faith in the Seven, but also my ancestor and a former King of Westeros. Baelor was not simply Called to serve. He was empowered far beyond the normal bounds of his fellows and given a Divine mission to kill me. Obviously, Baelor did not succeed in his mission, save in poisoning my opinion of your fellow Chosen. How much time did Lucan spend to summon Baelor the Blessed, time he could have better spent ridding Westeros of monsters? Why send my ancestor to slay me when there are more Devil plots in these lands than can be counted on two hand?"
Show her our schedule. Watching her eyes bulge out at our inhuman work ethic will be funny.

--[X] "Another Angel in Lucan's service, Roland, with whom I spoke cordially shortly before the Conclave first convened, did not believe Lucan would even deign to meet with me should I seek to parlay with him.
Shrug*

--[X] "So when I learned that mages in Lucan's service were here in Oldtown, I decided to take a chance, to risk the carefully cultivated persona I have used to great effect here in Westeros in order to learn what I believed was critical information. Were they, too, bound to serve yet another Westerosi master? Were they compelled to serve through fear or magic? If not, yet another false rumor would have been laid to rest, as have been many in these past days. If they were, I would have gladly freed them, as you must know there are few things I abhor more than slavery?"
This was not the plan, but it could have been I guess?

---[X] "And if his mages were not coerced, but were in fact his companions, then that too could have been of use to me. Cold as it may seem, hostages might have allowed me to compel a meeting with the man."
"As cold as it is." Because it is cold make no mistake.

-[X] "Now it is obvious that the Conclave is lost to me, though I assure you my intentions were honorable, at least as I see them. If you are willing to speak further on this matter, there is much you need to know which I hoped to bring to the attention of the Faith using my disguise as Dywen."
This is also pure bullshit and adds nothing unless you include what you actually want her to bring up.

--[X] "Although the timing is quite awful and you have little reason to trust my intentions, I would like to invite you to Sorcerer's Deep, along with any you wish to accompany you. Before you call a land Hell-on-Earth, you should take the opportunity to walk its streets, meets those who call it home, and learn what has truly passed to make it as it now is. Let us make something of this sad state of affairs. If we cannot be friends, I would at least hope for an understanding between us, one which benefits all and harms none, for I suspect many of our goals are one and the same, despite what otherwise sets us apart."
Ask her to come bless the Sept were building and speak to the faithful of SD.

Also it's a little wordy for my poor old man eyes. Shorten it down a bit?

@Goldfish him strong arming mages had nothing to do with us kidnapping his companions to use a leverage. Danny told us they were not bespelled well before the attack.

How about you point out the mages he killed for not bending the knee to him?

The healers, the crafts people, ect...

The ones Roland implied.

Oh, and all in all 7/10 and a gold star sticker.

Reach for the Stars goldfish you'll get there!

Again man, it's not a bluff role if the player believes it.

Which goldfish has mentioned several times.

Buy some glasses like the rest of us.

I'm really just over this quest. I get what you two are doing, I really do. It would be laudable, but I don't actually believe that most of the people here were read in on, or actually aware of just what road they were walking down when the whole Syrax vote came up and suddenly the impetus behind our actions was basically not "knowingly choosing each Renegade action without regard to the feelings of others barring those close to us, who would have made their opinion known if they cared to anyway".

Now we got a new QM coming in and using the plot like a beatstick to punish parts of the playerbase, with the other half continuing on as normal not realizing that half of their own provinces gave the orders to launch Nukes at themselves in protest of "rightful Moral Clay" being taken away from them.

On the one hand, while I feel both @DragonParadox and @Azel did this with the best of intentions, to try to make everyone grow and evolve as a community and to reevaluate their core values and decide what kind of story they wanted to tell, it feels pretty meta which has drawn me out of the story completely.

I enjoyed the writing of the arc, hated the motive behind it.

At the end of the day, I've never felt that stuff matters too much when it comes to setting up a situation. Regardless of why it exists, we're here to try to solve whatever problems the QM put in front of us. We'll do are best, and if that's not good enough, then we'll do our worst while knowing that we did our best.

Am just here to see masssive dragon battles and care about mortality. And i am all out of shits to give about morality.
You know what lets be more hypocritical. Sacrifise prisners now. Because for the greater good.

This feels like a step too far. At some point, it stops being a nifty surprise reveal and starts looking like either a retcon or us being set up for failure. Every piece of evidence we had, even ooc stuff like interludes, painted a single coherent picture of the guy, and the kingkiller in particular is not the kind of thing that admits to a plausible innocent explaination. The most charitable one I'll believe is that it was intended as a threat in order to coerce us in some way and it went wrong. Even that is a stretch, and that's still the action of an enemy.

It feels like everything we've done here was built on a foundation of deceit intended to lead us exactly where we are now, and though we could have possibly escaped it if we had acted correctly, we had absolutely no reason at all to do so. The universe conspired to put us where we are now in order to achieve a particular ooc result. It feels like a hybrid of standard railroading, a deus ex machina unavoidable surprise twist, and the what the lead up to the harmony gaslighting thread explosion from TBG would have looked like in character. I think I get what you are trying to do, and I even mostly like the high level intent, but the only reason I'm not angrier about the execution is that I'm not all that invested in this quest.

I didn't really want to say it, because I think the QM is incredibly fair for the most part and wouldn't do something like that, but I kind of agree?

I fully believe that Lucan was always intended to be like this, but it really feels otherwise. It wasn't just the rumors, the interludes and other things we've seen of the man painted a certain picture that doesn't quite mesh with what apparently is suppose to be Viserys 2.0.

Then again, I'm barely a participant here. So, I could be totally wrong.

I mean I'm pretty sure "Murder Lucan" was on the list, just after humiliating him so he couldn't be used as a martyr.

Meh I'm down with that.

Watchin some moomin and goin ta bed, cause all this salt is giving me a headache and I could use the palate cleanser.

See you all in the morning for Diplomacy, or barring that, Gunboat Diplomacy.

Either way something's getting done, even if that something is Arson, murder, and possibly getting a holy war called on our heads.

I should not be doing this at half eleven at night, whilst emotionally drained and exhausted. But hey, what else am I going to do with my time, something productive? You know, I'll to consider that sometime. @Goldfish this is mostly just a slimming vote, with some attempting to just double down and direct. Given how much DP has seemed to try and focus us towards it, I actually would like to have this be a very short vote, and not try to cover any wider issues. I want her answer regarding Baelor and why we should trust Lucan after he sent a divine assassin after us. We'll want to adapt after that. So my suggestion would be that we focus in on just the following, instead of trying to hit every note. As such, may I suggest:

You make a lot of sense there, @Snowfire.

This is nice, but honestly I feel like if Danelle wants to interrupt at this point in goldfish's vote, she can.
