Yes, I distinctly remember some people* runing around excited for swords of Gith.

For serious though, so long as we actually make contact with them soon and start trading, I'm okay with waiting some on actually setting them on Illithids.
Although, that may be entirely not possibe since we phrased our letter to them in a very particular manner.

All of the above. Weapons free, no holds barred. So, if this war with the Deep Ones turns hot, what would be the choice of engagement?
Divining and nuking their stronghold?
Calling in allies and wearing them down?
Excising their spies and servants while not jumping into a grind with their armies?
Don't remember what the general idea behind it was besides an idea for some epic spell to murder them all.
We should have a few weeks lectures explaining everything about the project to the volunteers first. Also have single guy perform it first to check the risks. We phrased our letter in the manner of one with a problem that is currently under control but of one reaching out to a power with similar interests where the Deep Ones are concerned. The Githzerai are patient. If we can show them that we have things under control and are basically just asking for help for when the time comes to stamp out the presence of the Elder Brain in our plane, I doubt they'll really object.
And it's more than just the Swords. The Gith are all, to some degree, natural psions. I want to take some of their blood and feed it to the Flesh Forge so that we can get access to the Psionic template.
Also, @TotallyNotEvil I believe you were someone who was supportive of some restrictions on the augmenting of beings with magic. Could you outline your thoughts on that? I think it could be a good thing to look at in a minor action before we kick Project Praetorian into gear.
I thought it was because DP said that if we told them they would go all out and war on everything to do with the deep ones including our subjects who are tainted by them. We'll likely give Gith coordinates for Illithids when we mith them this/next month.
That will turn the war a bit colder.
After that...
no idea, honestly. No one ever proposedd an actual plan on the matter

That's the Githyanki. They would also try to steal everything not nailed doan, people included, while being incredible nuisances.I thought it was because DP said that if we told them they would go all out and war on everything to do with the deep ones including our subjects who are tainted by them.
There was nothing of that included in the winning plan, IIRC.Um, didnt we decide IC to do mental evaluations of our soldiers before then to prevent the mindless following of orders?
If we are going to do the preatorian project then we need to do that in order to make it palpable IC.
You guys asked for this so you guys have to deal with those issues now mucking up your plans.
My bad then.Correct. Psychological evaluation for flesh-forging is something that Viserys decided he could do without, at lest for now. You guys can always change your minds later.
They might need multiple months to deploy though. Need to be careful with that.My intent with the Gith is to ensure that there is some land that just happens to be perfect for a forward base near to the main Deep One population centres set aside within the Imperium for when they come looking. I don't want to drag them into this just yet, though. They're our sucker punch for when the Deep Ones try to come at us. We'll sell to them at cost, and just be a good ally for the extermination.
Why, you might ask? I want access to their lore. And a few other things.

Smooth as silk. The runes along your braces warm as you call upon their power, casting a spell not of flame or fury but memory. You remember in full the subtlety and skill that served you so well in Braavos, two spells you cast one upon the other, first a wish to conjure a piece of waxy white fire-stone, then as the sermon goes on promising wealth and power sweet lies upon the ears of fools, you draw a stream of diamond dust from your cloak and crush the fire-stone in your fist to mix them all together before your magic grips the faintly luminous dust and slowly lays it upon the stone in arcane patterns: His'Vash, the mark of slumber. Again your hand slips into your cloak, this time seeking the renewing orb, that the price of wishcraft not lessen your power.
Lost 200 IM
When it is done you will a glamour to fall upon Varys and gift her another mantle to call on when she wills it, a rift in the very fabric of magic. "Stay close to our 'friend' there when the time comes."
"Watch the room, keep them in here if any resist the magic," you send to the Vee and Malarys. "Now," you call across links to friends near and far as you deliberately scuff the rune. Misty green light emanates from the stone beckoning irresistibly to slumber.
The congregation all collapses like puppets with their strings cut, one struck twice as an echo of the spell falls upon them then speaks a syllable of command upon time itself to heed his will... but the moments flow as ever they had done for Varys was in place to shackle the good septon in time and space.
Perhaps it is only your imagination but it feels as though Ser Richard takes particular interest in carving into the monster that had so long eluded you... no its definitely not your imagination, Leto is giving him an admiring look between the blows and flying blood.
Somehow the demon is still standing after first first attack, though it would not be standing long. A twisted dagger, smoking as though dipped in vitriol... a weapon of deep power and deeper malice.
A chill runs down your spine as the fiend lunges at Varys, but the blade barely touches her and her scales turn it aside before the Furies shear through its wings and Ser Richard smashes the false septon to the ground of the sept he had defiled. Amid the blood and bile the weapon sizzles and vanishes into smoke, seeking another bearer once this one had been defeated. Something the Bitch Queen would do alright.
Turning on your heel you conjure a false seeming to be seen from the street, then you wait as the others secure the prisoners, all looking tense andwanting to know what the others had done, but knowing that to call out now while battle still rages would be foolish.
In summation, there should a reason for why there aren't oodles and oodles of beings geting Super Soldier Serum-ed across the planes. Same reason for why I dislike the commonality of Greater Demiplane, there should logically be shittons of private demiplanes around. Also, @TotallyNotEvil I believe you were someone who was supportive of some restrictions on the augmenting of beings with magic. For Project Praetorian, I find Dragon Vassal from the Bestiary of Krynn infinitely more thematic than part-plant people, generally more balanced but similarly effective. So I'd prefer to pursue that instead.
So, do we already know how to make Dragon Vassals, from our memories or plundered lore?Be that as it may plants is what you actually have to work with and at least you are reasonably sure the Old Gods bear you no ill will. Another proper flesh forge would also mean trusting whatver's powering it will not influence the final project.

Have you checked out the template?
Eh may as well vote.

Also I'm feeling like updating the map again, probably get on with that over the weekend.
Current version is a bit further than official map, but probably outdated considering the constant immigration. Can anyone point out stuff the think/know is missing?
