Read "Witches Abroad" and think about that again. Stories don't give a damn about who get's the happy ending or how many people died to create it, only that there is one.

And generally speaking, Happily Ever After tends to end after about two weeks.
Oh yes, but the alternative is D&D metaphysics.
With Discworld metaphysics you can at least work around with second+ thoughts, headology and boffo. No such thing against the Bloodstone Emperor.

[X] Goldfish
alright, let's already get the fights done with-
...oh wait. There's many more.
Well, damn it.
The joust and mage duels are nearly done and the team battles should finish quickly, too.

Be patient, dude. The month is almost over.

We'll be growing the Tree of the Dawn Age and launching the Yi-Ti expedition before you know it.

Still not sure why you are in such a hurry. Festival month, and the Traitor's Tournament, have been awesome.

When I pushed for a "relax" month part of the reason why was so that we could pass time quicker...turns out that was naive as all hell because this month has gone on for a long time. How long has it been? 1 month and a half?

I think we might be on two months now.

That's the result of politicking. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

On the bright side we are getting a fuck ton of things done for the upcoming conquest.

It's... hard for me to put in words why exactly I am somewhat dissatisfied with the situation.

I'm not all that eager about any of the fights, I suppose.
I had my fill with them about halfway through melee, and we still got 3-4 updates on mages and same for team fights to get through.
And I'm not even reading them anymore.

This month also feels terribly long.
In fact, I'm pretty sure it alone took 1100+ pages already. A signle month.

I feel like we aren't doing anything.
This very much feels like an overly-lenghty filler arc, with awesome fighting and some great moments (politicking, Melisande, etc), but the main action on which everything is centred in is still the DBZ-like tournament arc.
Not my cup of tea, i suppose. It was better when everyone just gawked at SD's majesty, IMO.

I also don't feel that great waiting for Dawn Age Tree at the moment.
We don't even have the full list of sacrifices for it (because getting it out of DP before the very day we'll raise it would be stupid, as much may yet change and such).

TLDR: egoo is throughly unable to nail just what rubs him a wrong way about the festival.

Sorry you feel that way. Personally, I've really enjoyed this extra long month. And it may not seem like it, but we've done a ton of stuff not related to the Festival; adventuring, politicking, gaining Mythic rank, etc.

We did. Varys also happened this month and that was a fucking treasure trove of information. The dryad queen reproduction info and ribing the poor girl on if anyone caught her eye, the dungeons in Westeros, somehow getting Mel on our side(a surprise but a welcome one) all happened this month. It has been productive.

Yep. We spent an entire week talking to Bloodraven, during which just a few hours passed IC.

It was great and we learned so much new info.

@DragonParadox, is the Orphne King already walking around in his swanky retro Midnight Plate? :V

Also, for future negotiations... I don't suppose the Orphne King would mind us bargaining for the fealty of some of his knights? I just want fey knights, and accompanying horses.

Yeah, we've gotten so many things done.

I get the concern. I've had moments where I struggled to keep the interludes from feeling repetitive, and there is a sort of losss of focus that comes with the sheer number of interludes. The most I can do is promise to move though as speedily as posibile hopefully offering some more of those interesting moments.

Please don't rush the conclusion of the month! The pacing has been excellent so far.

Mind you, I have no problem with the pace as a lot of time is lost on questioning people and politicking.

What does get a bit grating is the OOC impatience growing in a few people, resulting in a desire to do everything next month.

So...

Trying to make a storybook land.

That's... Interesting.

Also pretty insane? It will take a while, but Fae will likely start suffering from the lack of... A lot of things.

Setting humanity in conflict with story will be bad for humans, but it will be much, much worse for fae.

Once people have adapted anyway.

Turning the Reach into a Raksha (go look up Exalted) Court should be utterly terrifying to everyone who knows what that actually means. I'd cheerfully blast the entire section of the continent to dust if it got that far.

And then feed the remains to Yss. At minimum.

Well Yss does need to live up to the World Eater snake name. maybe we should let him consume the Reach...if the process ever completes of course.

Edit: We know the exact numbers of the fey court because of that prince we captured so now I am curious. How many members does it have?

Zathyr would cry at the eternal stagnation.

Don't make Zathyr cry.

Can't argue that.

Welp, genocide it is.
I guess it's finally time to start distributing Junglerazer spell scrolls to all of our people who can learn the spell.

Purely as a defensive measure, of course!

@Azel I've done a formalized write-up of the Royce Alchemical Works for you to add to the Imperial Infrastructure page.

Royce Alchemical Works:
Each production facility is set up to produce only a single Alchemical substance and cannot be used to produce anything but that substance. The large-scale process requires a full month to go from unrefined reagents to finished substance.
  • It costs 30,000 IM and requires a month to construct and equip a production facility, requires a minimum of 60 workers trained to perform their particular tasks, and a manager with a Craft(Alchemy) skill rank of 8 or higher.
  • A production facility can be retooled to produce a different Alchemical substance at a cost of 5,000 IM, a process typically requiring two weeks. During this time the workers are also trained in their new tasks.
  • Eighteen Hedge Mages are tasked with managing the twelve production facilities, with periods of work staggered so that each is able to take time off every month.
  • Each worker will earn a wage of 7 IM per month and each Hedge Mage manager will earn a wage of 80 IM per month, for a combined labor cost of 6,480 per month (420 IM per production facility plus 1,440 for Hedge Mage project managers).
The Royce Alchemical Works is situated near Everfire Dale.
  • Each facility is a separate building specially designed for safety and durability, as well as security and defense.
  • They are part of a larger complex meant to be expanded in the future with additional production facilities, as needed.
  • A central management office contains a Statue of Magecraft (+5 Competence bonus to Crafting checks) and Statue of Crafter's Fortune (+5 Luck bonus to Crafting checks) which every worker and manager will use each day before starting their shift.
Production Facilities:
  • Facility #1: Explosive Packs (450 per month, Not For Sale)
  • Facility #2: Alchemist's Fire (2,700 per month, Not For Sale)
  • Facility #3: Sleep-Smoke (3,600 per month, Not For Sale)
  • Facility #4: Healing Salve (2,160 per month, Not For Sale)
  • Facility #5: Allnight (960 per month)
  • Facility #6: Alchemist's Kindness (72,000 per month)
  • Facility #7: Night Tea (720,000 per month)
  • Facility #8: Liquid Ice (2,250 per month)
  • Facility #9: Antiplague (1,800 per month) - Begins production in 9th month
  • Facility #10: Explosive Packs (450 per month, Not For Sale) - Begins production in 9th month
  • Facility #11: Vermin Repellent (14,400 per month) - Begins production in 9th month
  • Facility #12: Healing Salve (2,160 per month) - Begins production in 9th month

If the Court of Stars actually gets going, that won't be enough. Seriously. Not even close.
But it's a start.

To be followed by accelerated production of Feybane Valyrian Steel weapons, distribution of Cold Iron weapons, etc.

And all of that is before I get vicious or we let @Azel start an anti-Fey bio-weapons project.
