Drimogemon->Dorulumon would have come with it's own mental progression. Much like how Gryzmon gave Verge the spirit of a martial artist. Now that he's a champion Verge can't really do that kind of growth until he hits Ultimate.
I mostly take that kind of thing as hyperbole.
So if we went the Dorulumon route, you would have given a mental progression, for the Hero requirement.
I mostly take that kind of thing as hyperbole. Like "endure any attack" but yes. It would probably have slightly more fortitude. Remember my previous estimation was just that. A rough estimate.
It is hyperbole, if it wasn't the Leomon dies tradition wouldn't have started, but I do take that as having Fortitude be one of his higher stats.
While your enthusiasm is appreciated, the venue of idea's here aren't really tenable. Verge slide evolving to other champion's species would be a nightmare mechanically speaking, and take away from Gryzmon narratively.
So no slide digivolving into other Champions got it. Though I do have another question, does Gryzmon have other possible Ultimates aside from what is listed from Wikimon? And if so are you willing to listen to possible Ultimate suggestions?

Evolution would advanced and incorporated that set of beliefs in Verge's mind.

Hehe. Indeed.

Verge the Gryzmon does have several theoretical Ultimate options not listed on wikimon. But after what happened with the champion forms, I'm doing my best to keep the cards held tight to my chest. And yes I am willing to listen to potential suggestions providing a good case is made.

Good to know, so this is my first question about this topic, are you willing to have Dinosaur/Dragon Ultimates for Gryzmon Verge? or am I going to have to exclude them?

I'm sorry but there's some stuff I can't answer because of the spoiler levels. So here I have to go with "No comment".

Sorry.
Ah okay, but If Mistymon wasn't part of Gryzmon's digivolution list I think I could make a argument for him, if it wasn't already the case.

First we loaded Scratch's data who is a Mistymon and an Ultimate, which we can assume means at the time he had more data than 5 or more Verges, and we used him to digivolve into Gryzmon, which means that our data probably composed of 70 to 80 maybe even 90 percent Scratch based on the humongous increase of stats.

Basically those facts plus our High Programming skills, and Verge's potential to digivolve into Gladimon, and through him Mistymon, means that yeah Mistymon is a reasonable Ultimate for Gryzmon Verge, and again to reiterate we loaded enough of Scratch to launch our stats sky high, with strength going from 290ish to 1900ish, so it's reasonable to believe that Scratch's loaded data composes most of Verge's body right now.

Edit: 292 to 1950 that's an 86% increase in strength. Then 267.50 to 1700 that's 84% fortitude increase, 247.25 to 1240 increase in endurance which is a 81% increase, Agility is 228 to 1260 which is a 82% increase, then Special which is 257.50 to 1450 which is 83%, then finally Spirit 221.25 to 1300 a 83% increase.

Huh I underestimated, by the time of evolution our body is actually at least 95% Sir Scratch's loaded data.

With a body composition like that not having the ability to digivolve into Mistymon, is absurd, so looking at potential Ultimates, it seems that Mammal Ultimates almost all Mammal Ultimates are already achievable with Gryzmon, and the reason for Leomon's massive digivolution tree is that he has digivolution options from other groups.

So my suggestions for Ultimates outside of Gryzmon's digivolution tree that are Mammals are Cerberumon and Panjyamon... That's it every other Mammals are either insane/non-sentient like SkullBaluchimon or MadLeomon, or incompatible personality like Etemon, or just the wrong gender like Meicrackmon.

For Panjyamon he is basically Leomon with Ice powers, so reasons are already explained.

Cerberumon on the other hand doesn't have any personality listed on it's profile, so lets consider the personality a blank slate, we will instead look at his abilities and typing.

Cerberumon has both a Vaccine and Virus typing so that's one reason down, Cerberumon's Claws are described as " The claws on its feet are hard enough to easily tear through Chrome Digizoid alloys, if they have a low purity." which is similar to Gryzmon's own equipment in their hardness.

Cerberumon also the Nature Spirits field like Gryzmon and has the same minimum weight 30g

Cerberumon also has "Also, its body is protected by a hard living shell, which has the ability to instantly repair any damage it incurs." which means he has high Fortitude like Gryzmon.

And based Cerberumon's body type and abilities, I would say his stat distribution is similar to Dorulumon's with high Special.

And those are the Ultimates outside of Gryzmon's digivolution tree that I suggest.

Edit: I think I could have constructed this better, but it's late and I'm going to sleep

Cerberumon X would be more fitting, though. Since its a grappler that can fight bipedal. So he wouldn't even need to change his fighting style that much from when he was Gryzmon.

The big problem is Cerberumon, both normal and X, have access to Inferno Gate. Which is basically the Dark equivalent of MagnaAngemon's Heaven's Gate. And well, we saw Verge's reaction to that.

OOC: Ok.... seeing the description for Cerberumon has reminded me of a certain video starting an imperial assassin and now I can't resist. Naturally assume this version of Verge is more high strung then our current one to make this work.

*The scene cuts in on a group of Devimon talking about their plan*

Devimon 1: And when the bomb goes off the Dominion will be finished!

Devimon 2: Hahaha those fools will never see it coming.

*A quick look away reveals a large dog like digimon approaching the hidout*

Devimon 1: Hey a wizardmon challanges a Leomon to aa duel what happens?

Devimon 2: I don't know! What happens?

Devimon 1: Nothing they both die before they can even get started!

*Both Devimon start launching only for the dog like digimon to bust through the wall, immediately killing several of the Devimon with crusher bones before charging and goring another one, causing several devimon to try and flee only to be backed into a corned*

Devimon: No please no.... by Daemon no, have mercy!'

*The dog digmon roars before jumping off screen presumably butchering the Devimon, then promptly getting back on screen and blowing another hole in the fort to leave...just as another figure enters*

Knightmon: Attention fiends I gave come hear to stop.

*Looks around to see all the devimon have been destroyed, though hints of activity remain*

Knightmon: Oh.... wrong place I guese.

*Verge blows another hole in the building, runs up to the Knightmon, hits him in the side causing data to spill out, blows another hole in the building, and then leaves through the newest hole*

Knightmon: Agggg.... how! I'm wearing Chome Digizoid armor....agggggh!

*The knightmon collapses onto the ground and everyone else lived happily ever after!*

I still like the option of getting some kind of Deva species.

Bestial warriors who also use magic.

The issue is that the two most fitting ones have the issues of one being gigantic and the other looking ugly as fuck with Verge's color mods unless the armor isn't affected by the mods.

Lets see.

For the first case we are kind of lucky in that this being digimon being uuuuuge isn't as much of a problem as it normally is and quit frankly a lot of digimon in the same weight class as Ultimate Verge would probably end up being very massive anyway so theirs that. Additionally as it has a natural skill in magic it's probably going to be much better at figuring out how to shrink back down for social interaction than bear form is for doing the same.

Looking at the same case.... hmmm well maybe being bipedal will reduce it... or possible getting a pain job could be a thing....eh?

The first one I was referring to was Vikaralamon, who is a giant boar (in the anime, one who was an actual member of the Devas was 4 cars wide, 3 stories tall, and longer than it was wide) and uses restraint, support, and healing magic.

Imagining it standing on two legs is a bit difficult though.

The second one I was referring to was Caturamon, who is a white dog covered in light blue armor with a personality type that's an excellent fit for Verge.
One of the "Deva Digimon", it is a Perfect Digimon with a form resembling the Dog. As a follower of the Four Holy Beasts Digimon Baihumon, it looks after its fellow followers Makuramon and Sinduramon as if they were its younger brothers (as for those two, it appears they do not feel the same degree of obligation). Its sense of justice is strong, and it is unsatisfied when it can't make something clear in black-and-white. When all of its comrades are quarreling, it will sometimes serve as a moderator or presiding judge, changing into the Bǎo Chuí, which is itself as a gigantic hammer, and passing judgment over guilt and innocence. Its Special Move is generating a massive earthquake accompanied by a shock wave by striking the ground with the Bǎo Chuí (Śwabhojana).
Read those green parts and tell me that they don't fit Verge.

But yeah, its issue is that it would look ugly if Verge's alt color scheme (upper and lower body being different colors) applied to the normally blue armor instead of only the fur that's covered up by that armor. Non-standard eyes would still look kinda weird, but not unreasonably so.

In all honestly so far as looks are concerned I'm pretty a large number of Verge's potential alts would look weird bipedal (ie I really can't immagine Centuramon not looking wierd like that even without Verge's color scheme) so I immagine they're will be alterations to the majority of them on that front.

As for the armor bit... yeah lets hope it would either go the way or the claws and stay the same or that paining non-organic parts is a thing in this digi-world.

I mostly take that kind of thing as hyperbole. Like "endure any attack" but yes. It would probably have slightly more fortitude. Remember my previous estimation was just that. A rough estimate.

Basically like Beat. "Tougher than it looks" when it looks like a somewhat beefy human is not a substitute for "is a thousand kilos of meat and fur"

34th Of Water: Rescue Part 2
[] Darcmon: Your leader is the physically weakest member of the group aside from Sparks. She won't last long against two champions that strong. You might not have the best way to fight at range, but perhaps by joining with Sparks…

===

Verge The Drimogemon disappears. Your body first re-configuring and then expanding.

Verge The Gryzmon takes a deep breath.

The air in your chest throbs, gorging itself not only on a thread of wrath, but traces of an unfamiliar yet instinctive power.

Howling!

Your roar hits all three of the airborne digimon as a literal physical force, rocking each flyer back and making them flinch. The fact that your technique affected Darcmon as well is a bit embarrassing, but you shake your head and try to examine the situation logically.

I will fulfill my duty as a shield.
Imperius Darcmon will not last long against the two of them. But my claws cannot reach them. My attacks are slow. Perhaps Sparks could provide assistance? Yes, that will work Verge. But first...

"Gotcha." A bolt of azure energy extend upwards, striking the mechanical digimon's center chassis dead on. However his lighting doesn't tear straight through the Pteranmon's hardened body like it had done to so many other mon. Instead the blast only manages to lightly score it's metal shell, leaving a blackened scorched trail and minor hull damage. "Tch, tough bastard."

With that the frozen moment passes and the opposing Birdramon screams "Meteor Wing!" Unleashing a volley of fiery comets at Darcmon. Your commander breaks into evasive action, darting through the hail of projectiles and parrying what she can't avoid. Though given the light burns appearing on her frame, it isn't exactly a perfect defense.

"Side Winder!" Pteranomon twists and unleashes a counterattacking barrage of missiles towards your friend. One explodes on the rock overhang, raining chips of stone down on the combat below but the others fly true towards Sparks. A brief flare of worry erupts from your core as the crippled Wizardmon stays in place, but the champion merely regards the attacks with disdain and twirls his staff.

"Blink Breeze!" A powerful rush of air swirls to life in the missiles' flight path, redirecting them away from Sparks and... right into the flank of Holsmon. Pit's opponent digimon shrieks under the sudden assault of explosives, its force picking the armor digimon right off the ground and carrying him into your blind spot.

Not that you'd been idle while this went on. A Crusher Bone soars upwards one nanosecond later, but just as you predicted, the Pteranomon easily shifts aside to let the projectile pass. What you hadn't counted on however was it's mouth suddenly lighting up with energy.

Reflexively you take a step sideways and put your bulk between Sparks and the incoming attack.

"Kaikousen!" A line of burning pain slices down across your chest, cooking flesh and incinerating fur before the laser blinks out. You pause a half-moment to examine the shallow wound, then turn your attention backwards.

"Do you have a way to bring this foe down?"

"Yeah, couple ideas. 'Twill try the one that won't leave mine body weak first. Just gimme a few seconds… one of those Crusher Bones too,"

"Very well." You drop to a knee and scoop up another projectile, shifting only briefly to push it back before attempting your best impression of a living wall. The machine digimon continues it's assault relentlessly, pounding your still form with more lasers and even another barrage of missiles.

Given a few minutes of uninterrupted attacks, the Vortex Isle soldier could cause some major damage, even through your attempts at defense. So it's a good thing Sparks finishes his preparations in seventeen seconds. He lets out a final shout of "Magic Game" and pokes your rear-paw with and throws a *thin* black cord over your shoulder.

"Tis done. Grip this and throw thine bone. 'Twill bring that craven creature down!"

Trusting his plan, you clap down the cord with your jaws and sweep the bone up with a forepaw. Another line of fresh pain lashes across your side, but is ignored as you heft the construct up and throw.

Just as before Pteranomon sways aside, preemptively dodging the attack as it gears up a counter. But as it passes by, Sparks let's out a victorious chuckle.

The entire bone goes up in smoke as each of the cards he'd plastered on morphs. Each of the dozen pieces of paper plastered on erupt into a series of weighted metallic nets. Your agile foe is caught completely unaware as the thick mesh streaks toward it, compelled by some unknown force.

A fierce mechanical shriek of distress rips out across the sky as Sparks's magically created mesh latches onto the armored mon's chasis, trapping it alongside your Crusher Bone. The cord in your mouth snaps taut and the Wizardmon's plan comes together perfectly.

Amazing. How did he make-Focus.

With a grunt of effort you drag the airborne digimon down with a single mighty pull. While it's true that this mon may be faster than you, in a contest of strength such as this, he is entirely outmatched. The soldier's lower legs flail desperately at the surrounding net, stretching and warping the thin metal to little effect. You give one last yank, push aside the feeling of unfairness and raise one war-gauntlet.

"Crescent. Dawn."
Silver claws shear straight through the purple mon's neck, ending its life in a single blow.

A familiar pressure exerts itself on your shoulder as the still laughing Sparks takes his customary spot.

"Never stood a friggen chance against us! "

"Indeed." you agree with a smile, letting the enemy's remains drift away.

What the… Spirit's above what is this?

What almost looks like a silver winged digi-egg forms within Spark's combined net. It takes a second for your memory to match the object with what you'd seen in Magnamon's store.

That's a digimental! And the sign… it's a *love model* if we can store it then maybe-

"Destroy!?" Pit's enraged question booms around the nest, snapping you out of that line of thought and drawing your attention to his battle with Holsmon. Your friend is fiercely injured, his back, chest and shoulders a mass of eighteen separate trails of claw-marks. However despite his wounds, the angel only seems all the stronger. Holsmon's arms press against the center of his rod, struggling to move your ally back; yet Pit isn't budging a single milimeter away. The Pidmon's wings flare up with his customary golden fire, wreathing him in a halo of burning holy power. Suddenly the small angel's body jerks forward, throwing the soldier from Vortex Isle back.

"Yes! You despicable creatures want nothing more than to-" The armor digimon doesn't have time to finish his sentence as Pit jets towards him with an infuriated roar.

"The lord tasked us to save this world!" His rod crashes into Holsmon's left foreleg with a loud *snap* breaking the limb in two."To save it from despicable mon like you!" He sways back, barely avoiding a rabid counter-swipe from the bestial digimon's remaining foreleg and curls his right hand into a tight fist.

Destroy this world? Save it? What do they believe the Host is doing?

The armor mon abandons defense entirely, and lunges at Pit's unarmed side, his blades come to life with sudden energy.

"Mach Impulse!"
Sharp constructs of energy expand out of the metal wings, but your friend is wholly undeterred. No, rather he leans forward to meet it head on even as the holy flame travels down to cover his arm.

"Heaven's", Pit's fist pistons forward to intercept the blade, his limb wreathed in an almost solid cloak of power. "Knuckle!"

There's no clash, no struggle as both powers struggle against each other. Your friend's blow shatters the energy-clad blade and continues on to drill straight through Holsmon's body.

His opponent goes wholly still, eyes wide with disbelief as the smell of burning flesh wafts through the nest. A beat passes with only the distant sound of combat to disturb the silence, then the entire mon detonates in a burst of heat and light.

Holy-

"By the Ten!"

-yeah that.

At his clear victory, you allow yourself to relax for a second, taking note of how Beat's opponent seems to have vanished entirely since you last looked at him. Even now the Stingmon is fulfilling his order of bringing the wounded equine to safety.

However that peace is struck down as a squawk of distress rains down from overhead.

"Hols, No! You-you s-"

*Schlick*

"Word of advice shithead." Darcmon growls, plunging her arming sword deep into the Birdramon's chest. "The fight doesn't end just because you get all pissy." Your commander rips, her weapon out of the mon's chest and flashes the now fading champion a grin. "See you in the dark-zone ass-"

"-Raaaaagh!" A cry of pure anguish rips its way free from the mortally wounded digimon's throat. Loss, despair, anger. And… something Dark.

Your fur stands on edge as the champion's orange skin begins to ripple furiously, it's entire body suddenly redoubling in size between blinks. The former Birdramon's sides burst, to reveal a multitude of mis-matched spindly limbs. Bone, red chitin and a pair of limbs that look concerningly like they came from a Devimon.

"Ah, Daemonshit." Darcmon curses flying back down with all the haste she can muster.

But the horrific, unnatural transformation doesn't stop there. The cry is cut off just as suddenly as it began as a long horn bursts free from between it's eyes. One nanosecond later, rest of a helmet follows, bringing a maw full of misshapen teeth to the surface. A pair of white-feathered wings tear free from the abomination's much larger shoulders, even as the talons rip apart to reveal a set of thick furred legs.

Is it... over?

As if answering your question, a reptilian tail pops free from the Ultimates lower back and it unleashes a screeching cacophony of sound loud enough to shatter what remains of the stone overhang.

Pure excitement flows free from your core at the newly appeared worthy opponent. The dark power which fueled it's evolution has made it truly strong, far more than a normal evolution. Your breath comes faster, heavier. But it's not fear.

Come on. Get down here. Fight. Me!

Yellow eyes, rabid things lacking even a trace of sanity lock onto you. It finds a target for the overwhelming wrath.

===Choose One:

[] You will match this creature of wrath with anger of your own, an equal contest. Heavy claws become light.

[] This feral creature, you will face it down through discipline. As a martial artist and protector. The time has come to pull on desire.

[] All of the fighting will have been for nothing if Unimon is not saved. Prioritize his healing and safety above defeating this opponent.

As we are the tank, so let us tie down this monster and deal with skill and reason.

On another note, anyone want to toss the digimetal at drunken commander and see what happens?

In fact, can we suggest Sparks to grab the metal and bring it to her @drexal15?

Well then. At least we likely get a Digimental out of this that we can sell or trade to get that Courage one?

@drexal15 Any news about the allied Ultimate's side of the battle? How's it doing?

Ahh, I was thinking that maybe it was one of those, but wasn't quite sure.
At least there's no Machinedramon around

Those adjectives seem a little clunky, maybe remove remove the first thick since you use it right after?

Chimairamon, lovely.

If its anything like the one that appeared in 02, then Unimon is probably dead if we don't heal him, because even a missed attack was still enough to take out an Armored Digimon.

So, I got to vote for it, even if I really wan to vote fore one of the other options.

Verge wasn't able to witness how the HippoGriffomon/Silphymon battle is going. But essentially they kind of went through a foothill and are still brawling like a hundred feet away
