I know it's very easy to get invested in a discussion and read responses to it as attacks, but I urge all of you to try and take a step back in cases like this and assume that the person you are debating does have good intentions just like you do.

Just to be clear this is not addressed at any one participant in the conversation but at the discussion itself.

You know, maybe I shouldn't use tags anymore? It would probably help I just pretended this was an echo chamber where your opinion is lost in soundless din than pretend like you have to fight fucking tooth and claw just to have an equal and valid reason to even own one.

Honestly? And remember that stuff is always a perception thing and therefore highly subjective - you seem a little high-strung, even a little prone to over-reaction. That "don't take it so personally" stance doesn't seem to work so well at the moment.

But your opinion isn't lost. And you surely don't have to "fight fucking tooth and claw just to have an equal and valid reason to even own one". It's just, as this is a public forum, not everyone shares your opinion, neither does everyone understand you the way you wanted to express yourself.

I think it is fair to say we have all had miscommunication issues with each other. We have been at this for quite a while.

I'm just sitting at my seat, genuinely confused as to how this has escalated so far and so quickly. Where you say stuff like this with frightening sincerity.

Crake, how many times have we even communicated? The only other example I can think of is that thing with the 'Paragon' rank, whereupon I gave an "ehh" then proposed my own idea, at which point you accused me of arguing in an unfair manner. I just don't know where and how you've come to think of me like that, that you would react to mild irritation with such vigor and vitriol. What on earth did I do?

If you need to step away from the keyboard, or have a smoke, or whatever you need to do to calm down, why don't you do that now? No need for things to escalate further.

I'm sorry you feel that way and hope you will get over this soon, the same goes for the rest of the thread.

Normally I would try to poke the discussion back to the vote at this point but it's midnight for me and I can't realistically get another part out today so instead I am just going to suggest we all try to move on however we can.

At the risk of sounding repetitive, remember we are all here to have fun and generally it seems to work alright.
 
@DragonParadox, this is probably bad timing, but how are Breath Taker and Blight's Bane doing in rounding up all the Tritons to swear fealty to the Imperium? I asked earlier, but it must have gotten lost in the influx of the thread.
