Eh Fey having kings isn't much of a problem, even if they are in our realm, rules of nobility mean enough for Fey, that as long as we get them to acknowledge us as high king, whether they are Fey kings or lords wont matter.

Hmm allow something with a history like the Crown of the Reach, an artifact as old as the dawn age, into the hands of the fey so that they can remain vassals under a king with a history not nearly as rich or as ancient. Allow the fey to wield the conceptual weight of a nations history around like a blunt toy or a sharp blade. Allow for the birth of a fey king with this kind of history. Maybe my knowledge is lacking but this seems like something that the fey shouldn't touch under any circumstance.

No. The only circumstances under which this is better is if they plan to fuck off to the Feywild and never bother the Prime Material again.

In any other situation, they get that crown over our dead body and stronger people then her have tried that.
I don't get it.

I really just...

No comprende.

Oh! Oh.

I can't reconcile your desire to do this with the image of you guys that want to be alive. Because this will not work against the fae. We will not win a genocidal war against an entire creature type, and so SO many people seem to want that.

Using this thing as a justification.

Actually that's really it, I don't give a shit about this flower hat except for how it brought all xenophobic ranting about "killing all those filthy fucking fairies" out of the hole it fucking belongs in.

I care about the politics, not the creature type. If this was a northern crown that would lead to a independent Giant kingdom, I would still say they can have it over our dead body.

Don't conflate the hate-boner of others with my personal, political maneuvering.

I hope we try and I hope we all fucking die.
Why?
Trying to bur down an entire plane of existence is not feasible.
Of course it isn't.

But burning the specific courts which are making nuisances of themselves sounds perfectly feasible.

Get a Legion under Magic Army, which is enough to bypass cold iron DR, to march with our Scholarium mages for low level support and PCs to take down the big bads.

All Azel is saying is that if they want the crown of the Reach then they can do so over Viserys rotting corpse.

Also we don't have to kill the fey. All we have to do is put them under a deal and contractual obligations so tight that if they even think of rebellion or act directly or indirectly against us, including letting other fey rebelled not do anything about it or knowing a plot and not informing us or doing anything, then they get banished from this realm permanently or die. It is simple really.

I'd rather Mace Tyrell intended to wear that crown himself than to give it to a Fae noble who'll probably get a huge power boost for having it, on top of the artifact's actual power. Because seriously, the Fae are already powerful and meddlesome, we don't need them to get more power as a reward for meddling.

I think you're thinking of this like WW1 while others are thinking of this like our current conquest of Essos.

Hunting down specific courts wouldn't immediately cause all of Faire to declare war on us, but we would have to be careful about how we go about it as word would get out and cause courts to be on edge.

The Fey in the Reach are at most an alliance of a few courts (loosely or more tightly underneath a Court) that are making an active bid for influence in the Mortal Realm.

Honestly, I'm now expecting there to be a plot to kneel before us once we start making open moves on the West on the basis that what they really want is a place in mortal affairs because no one likes the Feywilde, not even fey.

Or it's a Fey-Maybe-Goddess plot of somesort, we should really spend some divinations to see what she's up to besides the Bey.

@Azel

While we have her here we should talk to her about the different fey courts as well as the power struggles in them. It would be useful for Reach management when we take it over.

Agree with you here.
We actually had rather positive relations with the fae, hell, how many are living and working in the Deep alone?

So I do not understand xenophobia being thrown around by some people.

Junglerazer batteries.
Speaking of Junglerazer, we should have given Alysande a scroll of that as an insurance if she ever needs it against the Orphne, or if any other fey turn hostile. There's still remnants of the Bright One's court around there, IIRC, like that weird fey who has the Poison Forge in a giant mushroom (I still want to loot that for Tyene).

We'll also need to make sure the Inquisition is equipped with this spell, since they're soon going to be ranging in the countryside of Myr and encountering potentially not friendly fey.

On a side note, I wonder what anti-fey gear we could equip Fey!Renly with... Cold Iron Longsword is a given, but maybe we should turn it into a Thinblade instead? Along with putting a feybane enchantment on it? If he's going into the Feywild we may as well give him an effective weapon. Of course that brings up the problem that a weapon like that might make him a target...

We have good relationships with regular Fae, the tinkers and what not, once that don't have any major ambitions really. The Reach groups are large and powerful plotters, nothing to do with the ones we've employed.

There is currently 64 fey sub type creatures and 4 fey species who live in our kingdom. The kicker is that all of them don't do much harm to humans with their deals because they don't make deals or are friendly. All I want with the fey is to have this ability curtailed so as to not cause chaos in any region that they are in. I am not saying kill them all but if, or rather when, they cause chaos then they can go back to the Feywild for good. Maintaining order matters more to me here and the fey aren't the best at that so forgive my dislike.

Might as well weigh in here before going off to bed, I think there is serious disconnect between what different people mean when they say 'the fey'. Some take it to mean the organized political power of fey courts others take it to mean the entire class of being, including say pech, Bulabar, the Queen Rahella and Moonsong. This disconnect has lead to some arguments where people are talking past each other.

How much actual contact did we have with them to state things like this with any degree of certainty?

All we have on them are rumors, and some rumors about Viserys paint him as the devil himself.

I think keeping open mind and actually doing research before coming to any conclusions would do us a lot of good here.
