Going by ship means we have hundreds of soldiers to assist in the defense and the looting.

Tyria is a superb target and we could try and hit Valyria from there.

By ship isn't just slow, it's sloooooow. As in it will take weeks to get there.

Some time last year, but we had other priorities and a small party, while Divinations showed that he knew we were there and that we would be likely to have at least one character death.
I agree with this, but I don't see the point of going to Elyria right now. Sure, we could get rumors, but rather than that I just want to go to Valyria.

I think this might be a good time to use our Create Demiplane Scrolls.

We create the Demiplane now, then use 4,500 IM worth of diamonds to Permanency it. Then we create a permanent portal to it using another Create Demiplane Scroll and 4,500 IM worth of diamonds.

These will be permanent. We then save the third scroll until we are ready to perform industrial scale looting of a Valyrian city. When we use it, we don't make the portal permanent, but leave it open only as long as we need to in order to allow us and any assistants (Minotaurs, Legion soldiers, etc.) we have come through the portals to carry all of our loot into the Demiplane, and from there back to SD.

The price of a 9th level spell scroll isn't that much. This is a viable tactic we can use to move otherwise impractical amounts of treasure and other loot without requiring Viserys to burn tons of spell slots carrying shit around.

Aside from the incredible slowness, I'm totally against taking muggles with us to Valyria.
Far too dangerous.

If we have more loot that we can take with us we just teleport back and forth a bit.
We can carry ridiculous amounts of weight now so there isn't much of a problem. Just put everything in a container and get it done.

@DragonParadox, several questions.

1. So with the map of the anti-Tiamat treasure we got from the Dragonscale Tablet, do we know which city in particular it's in? Is it in Valyria proper or is it in Tyria or Oros?
2. With that latest dream interlude, we basically skimmed the mind of a distant relative. Do we have info of any monuments that might still be around? Namely, Valyrian Steel gates or portcullises?
  1. You do, the same city you dreamed about in the last update Lyceos
  2. *rolls for it* No sorry

Depending on what we want to carry off, just the act of trying to put everything in a suitable container can be prohibitively time consuming, or outright impossible depending on what we wish to collect is made of and how large it is.

[X] Retroactive Preparations:
-[X] Use one of our Create Greater Demiplane scrolls to create a 340,000 cubic foot Demiplane measuring 110 feet long, 100 feet wide, and 30 feet high, with a dedicated portal alcove set into one end which measures 30 feet x 30 feet and protrudes outward an additional 10 feet. Use a Permanency spell and 4,500 IM in diamonds (but not our Raise Dead or Resurrection quality diamonds) to render the Demiplane permanent.
--[X] Dany wards the Demiplane with a Forbiddance spell to prevent others from using it as a Plane Shift destination.
--[X] In the portal alcove of the new Demiplane, use another Create Greater Demiplane scroll to establish a 20 foot wide x 20 foot tall portal to Sorcerer's Deep in a location Viserys deems appropriate. This too will be rendered permanent by using the Permanency spell and 4,500 IM worth of diamonds.

1. Okay, so was there any useful info in regards to looting from the latest dream interludes? Did we get a vague understanding of the geography and the various things we could hope to find? The locations of major dragonlord manses? Etc?
2. Did we manage to identify the Marilith's weapons and other equipment?
3. Why was the Marilith's skin jade? Did you give her a template or something?
4. If we're lucky enough to catch her, can I cut off a finger for a trophy via Make Whole?

@Goldfish, for this part, a portal is at most 20 ft in diameter, so it can't fit anything that we couldn't trivially Teleport. I think we'll be fine for looting. It's literally never been a problem ever since we got Teleport.

Just because we are capable of Teleporting something doesn't mean we should try to. We have a lot of spell slots, but it would be very easy to expend all of them and still have more stuff to loot. With the Demiplane set up, we can establish a temporary portal which will last for up to 17 days, then rather than try to Teleport everything back to SD, we can carry it into the Demiplane for holding purposes.

Or we can have all of our Minotaurs come over, cast Communal Ant Haul on them, and just have them carry stuff through the portal, across the Demiplane, and through the other portal back to SD.

Don't you want to do some serious looting? Not just treasure and artifacts, but the buildings themselves? Why not extract every bit of Dragonstone we can?

  1. You got a rough sense of where things are in the city
  2. No, it's too vague
  3. Probably though Viserys can't be sure
  4. Yes

@Duesal
DO you have any idea where Lyceos is?

It would be perfect if it is that unnamed northmost city we are planning to go to, but changing routes wouldn't be a big deal either.
