well I can only speak for myself but I voted to put the seed with the singers since my first choice to put it with the dawn tree didn't seem to have any chance to win, and I can see where you are coming from with putting it on a ship to creating a new creature but the option doesn't appeal to me for some reason.

Im afraid I don't have any better reason then that.

I voted the way I did due to the fact that I liked the way the spirit itself preferred the Singers over either the Old Gods or the Ship idea. While it might be a bit of a stretch and DP stated that the spirits mind could be changed, the dryads initial thoughts lent towards being planted with the Singers, due to wanting quiet solitude and contemplation.

EDIT: And while TNE's thoughts on creating a living ship are pretty neat, personally I don't want to force a spirit to become something they don't want.
Thing is, it's not really a spirit so much as the potential for one. That's what the seed represents.

Just planting it is naturally the path of least resistance, but that absolutely doesn't mean it's the correct path.

It's not a "baby dryad", it's a fey seed that would naturally turn into a baby dryad if we just plant it.

@TotallyNotEvil, just so that it is clear, there is no attacking you in this vote happening.
I think making a magical flying fey ship is silly. I believe that it is a waste of a resource on a thing utterly irrelevant. I think it will be a better choice both for her and for CotF to leave them together.
And so, I'm voting for giving her to Singers.

if you win now?
Okay then, I'll just ignore the existense of Awakened Rhaella, like I do the existence of Jaina's Flying Ship in newest cinamatic to WoW BFA.

Using the seed on the ship is just so much more interesting than the other options, IMO.

Never mind that it is creating a new kind of Fey, which is neat, but it will be a living, breathing vessel. It will be mobile. It can go on adventures. It won't be just planted in the ground like a muggle tree.

How would it not be a tremendously potent resource?

In fact, how could any of the two other options be more immediately useful than that?

One of our major enemies has an underwater empire.

Living Doomship would certainly be an asset, up to and including in taking the fight to them in the form of Submerge Ship.

Yes and Glyra preferred to be a backstabbing little shit until she didn't anymore. Well, she still stabs people in the back, but they have to deserve it now.

Point is, Fey nature can be changed and the Fey themselves are not as opposed to that as mortals would be since free will is a rather different concept to them as it is to us.
They don't seem to resent such changes.

Ok so that's probably where I misread the update. See I thought that Vee was able to read the seed's thoughts on what it wanted to be.

I'm kinda curious to how this dynamic will play with Moonsong also in the narrative.

[X] The Queen Rhaella, awakening the ship to life

This entire thing was built on the premise of "hey, what would happen if, when growing the seed, its "ground" was actually an enormous wooden ship?".

Think of how wonderfully twisty it would be if a "dryad's tree" is in actuallity the ship itself?

"You can't go but a few hundred feet away from your tree!"
"Then I will take the tree with me."

If it's all the same for you, could I convince you to change sides perhaps?

The ultimate buddy cop pirate movie.

Wondering if this'll change the figurehead on the ship. Maybe the Dryad taking its place in order to communicate to the crew?

Fucking hell, no the seed had NOTHING to do with the ship. Why the heck do TNE become the arbiter of its use, I said waaay back how the seed were specificslly for Vee and we should let HER decide its use.

But see some of us dont have lots of time either and misses vote. No big deal. But now I specifically tried to keep tab on the vote.

But noo when some players start bitching its alright to reopen votes.

I. Dont. Want. To. Add. It. To. The. Ship.

And yes @TotallyNotEvil I had another idea! An idea I brought up from when we just took TD. But whatever.

[X] Create a dragonstone coated floating pummice isle, proceed to use the gathered architectural knowledge of the Spheres to construct a fief and garden on the floating island. Plant the dryad among rare trees and herbs.
-[X] Extract dragonstone from Lys unused Fleshforge sections.
-[X] Let Vee decide what to do with the dryad seed.

@DocMatoi @One Autumn Leaf , can I convince you guys to consolidate?
Giving her to CotF is close enough to putting her to guard DA!Tree, as she will have the capability to move to quickly it if need arises.

[X] Goldfish

I started participating around Mantarys, so the seed debates don't really hold much weight to me.

Living ship does sound pretty cool though, so I'll go with that.

Also, if I may?
@DragonParadox, considering the whole shitsow that happened yesterday, I feel that I must point out, that "Reopen the closed vote with a definitive winner because some people come back too late and raise a stink" is as much of a bad thing as "Someone sneaked a thing into a vote and everyone have to deal with it later".
Please don't do that anymore.

Yes, I'm salty.
I can deal with this, but that doesn't do anything to lower my current salt levels.

The "consensus" turned within a half hour of someone actually arguing for one of the sides.

It was a highly debated matters back during the turn vote.

This is clearly a vote with strong feelings on both sides of the fence, and there are people across the world who participate in this quest.

I think that letting those who feel most strongly about something have time to present their case is not at all a bad thing, and that if a vote was truly so definitely "won" then letting said person participate would not change the outcome.

[X] The Queen Rhaella, awakening the ship to life

I didn't want to have the crew of the current ship to have to deal with a sudden "you might not be let back on" but eh. They can deal

I hold a directly opposing stance on this, and I'm stating such so that other people do not assume that it's just those that agree vs. those that don't care either way. I think that votes should be re-openable, and that you are just going to accept that playing this game/making this story, like life, can be a bit messy.

Glancing back, there was little to no discussion over the various merits before the vote closed.

@Raichu1972 @TotallyNotEvil

Or I have presented my arguments several times before, like, when TNE brought the idea up way back in Braavos. Then several times thereafter, I think that should count.

Some of the quick consensus comes from five of us discussing this out of thread too.

Ive always been against ship idea. The seed is Vee to decide over. It was given to her.

And you read what she suggested, CotF glade!

Let.

Vee.

Decide.

I'm pretty certain that using the ship against the Illithid is a terrible idea. Not only are fey affected far more by Far Realm shenanigans, but the ship becomes mind-controllable.

It's a recipe for disaster.
