You know, now that I think about it...
We might want to dissuade Zherys from any notions of sacrificing his Valyrian Dragon to make an avatar for Meraxes.

I have a feeling he might, just might, want to rip us off :/

So plans, how do we approach flame-bishop and what do we want with him? Dangle a Burny temple promise with his "sect" of faith in SD in exchange for communicating directly with R'hllor again and cover Garin's favor?

Formalizing our relationship with the Reds would probably go a long way, but I'm sure he'll have something Volantis specific, taking into account he'll probably desire some guarantee they'll be included in the new order not just elsewhere in Essos, but where local interests are concerned.

To be honest though if he presses too hard we could point out that we have a lot of factors and factions to balance and already have way bigger priorities than assuaging every religion who thinks they're the hottest shit on the block. Like stopping three or four or five different and specific apocalypse scenarios, one of which they have just as much vested interest in stopping directly.

Yes, I realize they might actually be quote unquote "hottest shit", but... well. Not for long. It's the way of the world when you can command fire that burns other fire. A "super hot fire", if you will.

So, Meraxes as the patron Goddess of the Legion? Do we even need a religious vector to affect the Legion?
Technically, I think Legioners already freely worship whoever they want.
Meraxes though, has a lot more religious tenats that go along with a live of a soldier, than other gods of ours.

So anyone has plans yet? Preliminary if we don't need a speech:

[] Inquire while dsguised as a Tyroshi magister in Volatis who lost faith in Trios and wants to try out a "real" god.
-[] Once private, reveal ourselves, what we have learned about the Others, the Illithid, Daemons, Demons, and Devils, add Ymeri too, who can be threats to Volantis.
-[] Discuss about having a cleric in SD inquiring about a temple to R'hllor

Hmm.
Yss - Traders, merchants
Meraxes - Legioners
Merlin King - Sailors, Fishers,
Old Gods - Farmers, everyone in general

We have a pretty damn good general coverage with such a pantheon.

Mind you, just active coverage.
Trios is great philosophy, 'specially for crafters, but not an actual deity.

And neither Moonsingers nor any other minor groups do anything of worth right now, except not letting Burny overtake everything.

Hm, so it ended up being much better than I expected.
Meraxes's core tenants are sound, if extremely focused, but her practices are kinda shit because Valyria/Volantis are full of assholes.

Put a temple to her in SD and start getting homegrown worshippers (maybe some of the Dragonseeds?) and I imagine her priests will become more predominantly of her natural alignment (LN) instead of being biased towards the nation she is worshipped in (LE).

@egoo counting Meraxes as an important God on the level of Yss and OG while calling the Moonsingers worthless is pretty silly imo, considering that there has been no push at all to increase the influence of the Moonsingers while people already want to build a super temple for Meraxes.

Meraxes has also done literally nothing for us, while the Moonsingers have given us both a portal to Molten Skies and access to a long distance communication system.

I posited sometime ago that a lot of Legionnaires are ironically more likely to be LG or at a minimum LN than they are to be among any of the Evil spectrum because of our constant rhetoric.

I found that somewhat ironic, because they're the literal black jackboots who people fear to see landing on their shores, but "they are here to help!"
