After a hearty breakfast of meat, fruit and a bowl of several strange things that Sorcerymon called "Aggs" you find yourself assembled by the front gate along with those residents of the village Gramps has deemed fit for battle. With Flamemon by your side and his words from last night having yet to fade away you find yourself in a positive mood. The guilt is still there, just unable to compete with Flamemons reassurances.

On the opposite side of things, the normally cheery Fu is remarkably downcast this morning far from the happy energetic state she normally exudes. It's a little worrying, but you can understand why considering last night. From what you understand Auger still hasn't woken up.

Gramps announces that only a single branch of the Goblimon's side operations remain and that if things go well your group will be able to end the threat of the village today. As he begins a small prayer to the ten in thanks for your victories, you can't help but be slightly confused by his words.

W-wait, weren't there five? I-I thought we only got three...

"Hey G-gramps?" You question mid-sermon. "Shouldn't there be.... Two left?"

"Not anymore" The old scarred Elecmon grunts responds before blinking in surprise. "Verge, you Interrupted me"

"Y-yeah, sorry I-"

"Hmph, don't worry about it" he says with a good-natured chuckle before suddenly straightening up "But don't do it again"

"Ah-I... Okay."

"Ten be praised," The small red digimon mutters before coughing. "Gnaw destroyed one last night, before I found him"

Then that means... No! Don't think of it Verge. Gnaw-Gnaw's safe

"Where is that dummy now?!" Fu shouts, her words seeming somehow odd to your ears without the trademark *Fufufu*

"Not you too Lalamon. " *Cough* "Gnaw will be meeting us there" Gramps replies. "Even with him digivolving we have to be careful. They'll know that we're coming so everyone listen, don't take risks" He warns before turning his gaze towards the sad plant digimon. "Fu, stay near Verge"

"Aaaaw, fine"

"I can help too!" Sparks cries out in his most heroic voice from his perch on Flamemons shoulder. "My flames will be used for justice!"

"No. You're too young" The old Elecmon replies in a weary tone without missing a beat almost as if he'd known the outburst was coming. In response the Demi-Meramon floats up and opens his mouth to argue, but Flamemon hastily puts a consoling hand on the baby digimon and begins consoling him.

"You will get your chance to shine one day Sparks! But for now, you have the important task of helping Sorcerymon protect the village!" This seems to mollify sparks somewhat though you manage to catch him grumbling a word about something being "Boring"

When your group leaves a little bit later Fu ends up cutting in between you and Flamemon, and ends up monopolizing most of his time throughout the trip. It is a bit annoying, but you let your friends talk Fu could use the good cheer.

The party reaches its destination a few hours later with you bringing up the very rear but much to your surprise there isn't an army of enemy mon waiting there or even the normal numbers you'd expected considering the previous areas. Instead the place looks abandoned with the only signs of anyone working there recently being just two small hills worth of rocks piled up on either side of the entrance.

At first the main reaction from the others is confusion, with Fu rather loudly questioning where they are. Gramps however tells everyone to be quiet before cautiously advancing ahead of everyone else to investigate.

The worried silent atmosphere is rather unnerving so when the faint sound of something sizzling comes from the rear, you instinctively flinch before whirling about to try and find the source of said noise. Out of the corner of your eye, you spot a small trail of orange fire just before it vanishes behind a nearby tree. Naturally you're more than a little frightened about the fact that someone followed your group, but then you manage to puzzle things together.

Wait... following us, small t-traces of orange fire-S-sparks?! He-what's he doing here?! Gramps and Flameomon told him to stay behind! I have to-

Before you can announce his presence to the others, a loud somewhat familiar from the front directs your attention back around.

"Bwahahahahahaha I'll destroy you all!" A certain BlackGarurumon cackles as he leaps into view directly in front of the small mineshaft. "Bwuh? Where are the stupid things? I mean can smell them." He looks around confusedly seeming to completely ignore your group as he does so. "Get out here and face your destruction!"

On cue a roiling tide of Goblimon emerge from the seemingly abandoned mineshaft letting loose their all too familiar battle-cries as they begin throwing fireballs towards the champion en mass. Gnaw takes the many attacks with a feral grin and then takes a deep breathe clearly intending to unleash some sort of breath attack on the mob of enemy mon only for a mechanical voice to echo out, cutting him off before he can even speak.

"Twinkle Beam"

A small flash of light to erupt from the leftmost hill of rocks and slam straight into his head. Whatever attack your friend was about to use dies out as he drops to the ground and begins spasming randomly.

"Gnaw!" Flamemon cries out leaping away from the group and towards the struggling champion.

Both piles of rock begin shifting tons worth of stone sloughing off in order to reveal two absolutely enormous mechanized digimon.

While their armor is marked with innumerable holes, and their movements are noticeably sluggish seeing two champion reared up and ready to fight against you is still absolutely terrifying. Still, even with the chills of fear running down your spine, you can recognize bits and pieces of the machines. Those arms and legs are completely identical to the limbs you found within the other mineshafts. It's with a sinking feeling that you make that final connection, the Goblimon had dug these things out of the mountain.

You try to move, to do something but the rightmost champion moves his single eye to look directly at you. Suddenly it's all you can do not to start digging down as fast as possible.

Nonononono!

"Spirits Below!" Gramps curses, whirling about to look at Fu and by extension you. "Run!"

=== Choose One:

[] Fu is here and Auger isn't around to help protect her, go try and make sure she can get away safely! There are a lot of digimon throwing fireballs at her, so she might get hit!
[] Sparks follows the group here and now as the youngest he's in the most danger, you have to go and make sure he stays okay!
[] Flamemon is facing off against one of those things to protect Gnaw. You have to help somehow!
[] Run!
[] Dig!
[] Write in with tactics applicable: Though note I still hold right to veto stuff.

Authors Note: I got a lot of this done last night but sadly wasn't able to finish before sleep was forced upon me. Yeah the situation probably looks bad doesn't it? I'm maybe hoping to get another update one out tonight if I get the free time. Update was not Beta'd.

Thanks to the awesome @Tam Lin for that Goblimon sprite.

[X] Yell out "Sparks, get under me, right now!"
- [X] use your body as a mobile shield and your drill nose to clear a path to Fu; while Sparks scorches any of them that try to get close.
- [X] Once you have Fu, start pulling back, and yell for Flamon and Gnaw to run with you.
--[X] If we have no other recourse, we dig an escape route for the others and beg Gramps to cover us

How fast can we dig right now anyway @drexal15?

Oof, Gnaw getting knocked out is a major loss, but on a positive note, at least they were forced to give up the element of surprise in order to do so. That unexpected alpha strike would have killed anyone weaker than Gnaw' current power. I gotta think about what to vote for; I'll edit this post with my vote later.

Hmm, right now it would take Verge a few seconds to get completely immersed in the dirt. Considering his height/length that puts him at roughly about 1.33 feet per second through the dirt.
Damn, not nearly fast enough to outrun the mechs and make an escape tunnel.

He wasn't knocked out actually. Twinkle Beam causes the target to lose control of their body. Give him enough time to recover and he'll be back on his feet. The trick is getting him that time.

Indeed. Still pretty darn fast considering just how much dirt he is moving.

This. Though Flamemon is trying to protect him.

I'll also warn you that plans that try to do everything can end up doing badly. Half asking everything instead of focusing on one thing can be disastrous, especially since Verge is almost in panick mode right now.

[X] Sparks follows the group here and now as the youngest he's in the most danger, you have to go and make sure he stays okay!

Spirits darn it, Flame you really need to take better care in teaching your little bro.
How the fuck are Gobbos smart enough to fix and pilot the Mechanorimon?

Shenanigans be afoot
That or their boss got away from Gnaw somehow and is out for revenge, as I could see that guy being smart enough to pull this off.

It's important to remember that Ogremon's bio states that it's actually very smart and cunning. There's probably an Ogremon or Ogremon subspecies running this operation, possibly at the behest of a superior of their own.

Gramps is bullshit for a rookie and the most skilled combatant here by several country miles; he can probably keep one of the Mechanorimom busy long enough for Gnaw to recover. The same is true of Flamemon to a much lesser extent.

Fu is in danger too but Sparks is the weakest combatant here in all areas, so we've gotta protect him and fight off whoever gets close. Hopefully we can hold on, but at least one character death here is likely.

When Gnaw recovers we'll regain a major advantage, and it's possible that the stress of this situation will make Flamemon digivolve as well, so there's hope.

How viable is my plan?
Verge can technically do it. Just that it's trying to do A lot of things at once and not taking what Sparks might do into account.

Generally speaking? They aren't. Though that's mostly on the fixing side. Piloting isn't actually all that difficult so long as you have proper hands. Piloting well on the other hand...

I really don't like choosing between everone, but Sparks is a bloody In-Training it'd take a good shot or two to end him.

Fun fact Elecmon commonly digivolves into Leomon too and if this is DW1 based a group of Leomon lived and even made statues of worship

Elecmon constantly evoke the spirits too....hmmm

Right so we are not getting involved in the champion fight going on We're leaving that to our heavy hitters. Between The 3 of them they're the best suited for getting out of this alive.

Our job is to grab Fu hightail it to sparks and book it while the two of them act as our rear gunners.

[X] Plan: The better part of valor
-[X] Yell for Fu to retreat back to you. Run up to her and attempt to body block as needed.
-[X] Have Fu shoot as you run.
-[X] Find Sparks ,grab him and get him to safety.
-[X] if he argues point out the fact that him being here means Flameomon is going to get himself killed trying to protect him and Sparks can't do anything right now. If he wants to help he can get on your back and let you make sure Flameomon can focus on his fight.
-[X] once Sparks is secure Run like hell.

@Cjdavis103

I like most of your plan but there's something kinda funny that just won't really work.
Putting the sapient ball of fire in Verge's mouth.:lol:rofl:
It's less painful then hundreds of fireballs to the face.

Also wasn't completely sure on the whole body thing. I mean he has to have some kind of body if he needs to eat right?

I'll edit it.

Edit: and done might sound a little agressive for Verge but he's in a time crunch and you can translate it to something more in line with what he would say

Digimon biology can be weird. His body is literally made of fire but he can eat with it and digest food. It also has a form of mass... somehow.

Arg, if only we could use our inner wrath and scare Sparks enough to listen to us.

"SPARKS! DON'T YOU DARE!"
"Ab-b-bout what?"
"YOU KNOW! SO DON'T YOU EVEN DARE!"
