Science is for the second or third prince(ess). Being an accomplished general means she starts that much farther ahead politically, due our culture being, as has just been noticed, highly militaristic.

i am not that worried about tech leaking to Kielmyr we just married into their royal family and they are small enough that they are not a major rival. Getting better tech to beat Sketch and Nohan matters far more.

Guys, while science research might be good for our actual scientists, is it really all that good for the ruler of a nation? Like, even if she makes some improvements or discoveries or whatever... would it really be something that nobody else could have done?

Whereas only she is going to be Haddyth.

So a military academy, because of our militant society (perhaps too militant, however; Valdem's observations about the workers and military training aren't exactly things that we haven't ourselves probably mused on and worried about), or social and political science might be most applicable and useful for a ruler.

Currently I'm leaning towards the latter. University of Redshore.

It's the university that is researching all the political and social technologies; you know, the things that might give us the tools to try to understand what is going on in international relationship, in government, and in society. So yeah.

I feel like Nokly (and likewise, Weihar)'s ages are pretty critical here; I don't think it's much of an exaggeration to say that either dying will lead to Yenyna assuming the throne very quickly, and they're both at the age where they could die of stress out of the blue.

She'll be building contact with the scientific community and she'll be able to understand what's coming out of her science advisors.

Politics will help guide the nation. We are currently a military powerhouse, we don't need our ruler to be amazing in this field, we made sure of that by fostering independence. Also the new husband seems well-aquainted with military matters to say the least.
In the science-department, we are good and I think we will remain as such for the coming times, but the will and ability to guide it is what has made Nokly so great and what will make Yenyna great after him.

We need a ruler who is competent in politics first. Military and Science are important too but for that we have advisers.

If we have a ruler who is an amateur in politics, the entire country would be run by her political advisers.

She has science advisors. And probably finance advisors, for how much (and from where) to throw funding their way. But you could probably leave things at just that; the science gets done by the scientists. The universities and secret labs do the research, and can just keep doing that.

But a ruler's main business isn't scientific research; it is ruling.

While she will also have political advisors (and foreign relations, and espionage, and police advisors) too... that would be precisely where she would need to be able to understand them!

Basically while homosexual relationships in your teens is still considered right and proper way to gain experience, among the nobility it is seen of as unseemly and childish to keep these relationships into your 20s, especially when you can be using your experiences to court heterosexual partners. Valdem disagreed and picked fights a lot

This is a fairly recent shift in culture driven by trade with the Sketch and Hespranxer, who have much stricter ideas about sexuality
