After the Sorcerymon finishes his tale, you finally manage to say that you have a piece of green crystal from the mines in your possession. The older digimon gleams at your words, and quickly asksfor you to get it.

You quickly return to your hut and swipe the piece of green crystal laying beside your bed. Upon coming back, the merchant lets out a strange high-pitched sound. You think it might be called a whistle?

"Whoah there little feller, that's some high quality stuff there. Ah think somethang that nice might be worth say...a thousand bits or so.

Is that a lot?

"Got any more round these parts?"

You timidly shake your head in response, after all you don't have any crystals. Plus you don't want to let him know about the others pieces that could, bring the others into this.

"Hrm, that's darn disappointing, maybe more'll come in if ah wait a while" With that he swipes the green crystal from your hand before tossing it into another bat. "Now, Ah don't suppose you have a place ta store this stuff?" You shake your head. "Well how bout this then, ah'll hand it over to Ole Gramps when I see him next. That feller can a sturdy durn bag. Though ah've got no idea how he does it."

The older digimon spends the next few minutes talking to you in his strange accent, mentioning his status as a champion and talking about the "prices" of various objects he has for sale. Not that you really have much use for blankets given your thick fur.

Fu and Gnaw return after a while, putting the harvested buds inside the storehouse before heading over to join you by the stewpot. The pair glower at you while getting food, but quickly get distracted as Sorcerymon repeats his introduction. You sneak away back to your hut in order to nap for a while.

Considering the injuries you'd gained from the fight, and the exhaustion from training falling asleep proves extremely easy.

Gramps wakes you up as dusk begins and drags you over to the cooking pit in order to help make the evening meal. While your hands aren't the best for delicate work, the scarred Elecmon does find something for you to do. Namely scouring out the cauldron while he gets the meat and vegetables ready, then helping him get buckets of water from the nearby stream.

Once that's done, he shoos you towards Lunamon who's playing by the farming area and gets started with the actual cooking.

The rest of the day passes quickly, mostly consisting of your newly evolved *ward* trying to play games such as hide and seek, or tag with you. As it runs out, being able to dig your own hiding place makes winning the latter contest pretty easy. Though her Ability to hop huge distances proves to be your undoing in the latter game.

After a quick dinner you head to bed with Lunamon, watch another bout of that strange thing that appears and then nod off to sleep.

You're assaulted by the same dream as last night, something that while terrifying is slightly less so now that this is the second time you've felt it. When you wake up in the morning screaming in terror, the amount of sweat dousing your fur is significantly less than the last time.

From there, it's a simple matter of waiting until Gramps walks inside the hut and lays out your options for the day.

===

Choose One:

-[] There's still a great deal of wood left in the forest that needs hauled back. Gramps wants you to haul it back with Gnaw.
-[] Auger needs help with some digging, and Gramps had decided that you're the best digimon for the job.
-[] The villages farm needs some tending and a little bit of expanding thanks to all the rookies living the village. Gramps wants you to help Fu and Lunamon handle that.

===Stat changes:
  • Strength: 32.25
  • Fortitude: 28.5
  • Endurance: 30.25->32
  • Agility: 18->19

  • Digging: 3/100->4/100

Authors note: update was supposed to be bigger but I was unable to add the story portion and I kind of ran out of gas. I'll be doing the story part as an Omake later, getting it out when I can.

May also revisit the update itself later. Simply because playing games with Lunamon in more detail would make for a cute Omake.

This is literally the best thing we can do. Bonus we get to hang out wih Auger who seems like a cool mon.

Also the Sorcermon so far seems to be legit so far. Might want to consider telling the others when he leaves so they can get some bits next time he comes back. That way we have an excuses if they ask why we didn't get them immediately, in the form of "I didn't want to get you guys in trouble in case the he would have done something".

We could be of a good bit of use here, turning the soil and such using our digging skills.

Also a possible option for champion could be Dorulumon.
He's a Beast type digimon who share's the Drill theme.

Now it's not perfect and has a few problems(or conditions?)
-Obviously not a cowardly like digimon
-A little to mobile for our stats and build

Theres two more issues but they're easy to fix.
-Dorulumon doesn't technically have a level, but look at him and tell me he's not Champion material. Plus Dirmogemon isn't naturally a Rookie but here we are.
-The resemblance between Dirmogemon and Dorulumon is a bit iffy. However remember Wormmon the little green larva dude. Remember how he turns into a Assassin Bug-Man with laser stingers. Yeah.

That's nothing special. Another technically canon compliant sequence is

Caterpillar -> Samurai -> Egg -> Humongous Mecha
Kunemon -> Musyamon -> Digitamamon -> MegaGargomon

Heh. Good gif.

@Demenos

Goddamn if that isn't an absolutely amazing bit of analysis and and idea-work. I never even thought of that as an evolution for Verge, but in terms of the whole drill thing it works absolutely perfectly. It even has a potential Mega/Ult form potentially.

Not to say that it is his champion evolution now, but it certainly is a technical possibility albeit a far out one.

It would require having extremely high stats for pretty much everything with an ever higher amount of speed. Plus for Verge's personality to change from being afraid towards being a chivalrous loner.

As someone who likes to reward such spectacular like, would you like the honor of assigning 1 extra stat point to Verge's character sheet?

Yeah, they can get really, really, Really weird at times.

technically Digimons should be able to evolve into any other Digimon since they all are made out of data. Their evolution would depend on what type of data they were absorbing.

The only ones I can see that would be excluded out of that list are the fusion Digimon (Digimon that need to be fused to exist), the sovereigns (since they are hardcoded and don't share data with other Digimon), and custom Digimon (like the D-virus for example) that were put into the world by humans.

I was trying to be nice. Also I found your game to be fun and now I will take a shot.

Missile-->Purple Penguin-->Rhino Dino-->Alien-->Golden King Elvis Monkey
Missimon-->Penmon-->Monchromon-->Vademon-->King Etemon

Wow I'm unprepared for thi-I mean YES! Now which stat. Strength and Stamina basically tied for first, Defense is second lowest, and speed is really low....

Luck you decide! (Die rolled 3)

Fortitude Please!

Hmm. Well to share my opinion on this subject, I'm not the biggest fan off this viewpoint of everything could become everything. I mean yeah they're all made out of data yeah, but it's not quite that sample. It's almost equivelant of thinking a human could become an elephant because both are made of meat.

There's different types of data, how it's formed how it's structured, etc. Generally most digimon will follow along a standard line/chain (or a few branching paths) with the weird examples basically being the odd ones out.
Done.

Normally in other quests I'd be wary of awarding free stat points like this, but considering the sheer number of them that have to be gained over time it's basically a drop in the bucket each time. A few here's or there will provide a small bonus but nothing gamebreaking.

Yeah, really not a contest here with this one. As we are a mole with a drill, why would we never not want to dig?

Though @drexal15 mate, any chance you could give us a list of options for our newly gained bits? As the merchant must have something we might be interested in buying off the guy.

Verge technically never got any bits, Sorcerymon promised to hand them over to Gramps, who in turn he believes will give them to Verge along with a proper bag to store them in. I planned for the list to be posted a bit later after thst once Verge gets back from the second days events.

As for what the merchant has...well I suppose there's no harm in telling you guys now.
  • Tent: 1000 bits
  • Bedding: 200-1000 bits depending on quality
  • Blankets: 50-750 bits depending on quality
  • Cutlery (Spoons, knives forks) : 50 bits per
  • Decent Knives: 200 bits per
  • Great Knives: 500 bits per (Could actually be used for stabbing)
  • Dishes (plates, bowls, etc) :100 bits per
  • Sturdy Cauldron: 2000 bits
  • High-Grade Food Items (AKA minor stat boosting meals) : 100 bits per (he gave one to Verge as a freebie)
  • Large Quantity of Banners, Streamers, and other decorations: 20,000 bits
  • Various Jewlery: Ranging from 500-10,000 bits

Ok first how the heck does this mon get something made out of Chrome Digizoid? As the stuff is suppose to be rare as heck if memory serves.

As for the rest, nice list but do they have any effects besides helping with quality of life? Since most things mon make almost always has some effect on stat growth if we go by the games.

It is very rare aye, and very expensive. As for how he got it? Well remember the entry I made on weaponry? There are suppliers for this kind of stuff in the digital world, Sorcerymon managed to snag one thanks to a few of his connections. Though it should be noted that small time
standard Merchants having access to these sorts of things is really, really, stupidly rare. Either Sorcerymon is lucky or.....

As I said before I haven't really been able to play many digimon games, but I do like the idea of items that could effect stat growth. Hmm. Mind if I ask you more about it on Discord?

But yes most of the stuff is quality of life misc stuff barring the stat boosting food items.

It all makes sense now, it was murder! :p

Sure, though I won't be free to chat on discord until later tonight.
